I can’t imagine that Willys was fielding enough Land Rover questions that the sales department thought it needed to highlight the Jeep’s advantages over it?
Here’s a reasonable price for a circa 1952 4 Wheel Drive Booklet. It appears in pretty good shape. You can see a scan of this here.

It’s listed as a 1947 CJ-2A, but it looks to be a 3A.This half top is a curious one. It looks like it’s been built out of galvanized metal? If so I suspect it’s a home made one, perhaps modeled after a Porter & Reed top?
“Pulled this out of a Quonset a couple months ago, it’s a cool little Willys Jeep but I already have a CJ2A and this is one project too many.
Hasn’t run for about 4 years, I asked the guy how long he’d had it he said, “I put those 1973 plates on it. ”
We have not tried to start it, the oil looks good and it has antifreeze in it, the gas line is disconnected at the fuel pump, they had a little can on it last time it ran. The engine has pretty good looking red paint so I asked him about that. He said they had it rebuild a “Long time ago.”
Has a solid looking Kelly top. Could be a good price. It was bought and has been owned locally in Leadville.

“16200 original miles on hurricane 4. All original except for radiator,hoses, front fenders, paint,seats, wheels and new tires. Have doors with broken glass.Runs good. “I am selling my 1949 Willy’s CJ3A Jeep. It is in very good shape, solid, little to no rust ( left front fender has 2 small patches). F Head engine, 3 speed (manual) with Overdrive. Lockers front and rear, lockout hubs on all 4 wheels, dual shocks on all 4 wheels, Custom roll bar which has all wiring and switches moved up top in it. 9500 TI Warn winch, Bikini top and half doors. The Jeep does have a PTO and drive shaft in place however I have never used it. This will climb almost anything and will do 55 on the HWY with the overdrive. Street legal with a clear Colorado Title. “This 1943 GPW ( VIN: GPW 101331 manufactured 04/1943) Jeep is ready for off-roading and hunting. Very well maintained always and stored indoors. As you can see from the photos it has a slight lift and larger wheels and tires.
Proper GPW Ford original chassis, body & drive train.The body is solid. Has reinforcements made by previous owner. No rust on floor boards or undercarriage.
Original GPW motor and t-84 transmission. The engine is GPW but the head on it is a later year (I may have the original head some where, not sure).
Rear axle is locked for off-roading. Front wheel locking hubs, low/high works perfect.
Very reliable and fun driver with 12 volt system.Foot starter and all lights and gauges work great.
Has driving brights for the night driving in the forest.
Seats are not original, custom for comfortable ride when off road ( I do Have one original seat with F marking in perfect condition),
Gas tank is non original.( I have the original gas tank) if you want.
Has the original data plates. I have photos of chassis number on frame, engine number on block and more.
It is a great candidate for restoring to original for a purist but I feel that one can enjoy it as is for hunting or going on trails and let it appreciate in value.Restore in future if you wish to.

It is a project with an 1972 drive-train. Sounds like a great project and, given the Warn winch, Koenig hardtop, and tires, this looks like a good price.

“This was my project jeep that needs to be completed. I am unable to finish this project because of health problems. This jeep has a V8 289 mustang motor with a 1972 drive train and 11in drum breaks. This modest four page brochure was spotted by Maury on eBay along with five other cool brochures which I’ll share over the next few days. They are great brochures at a killer buy-it-now price.
Each of the brochures had consecutive form numbers, from FS-514100 to FS-514105. The brochure below included extra digits at the front: FS-4 FS-514102.
I do think it’s odd that while the brand ‘Jeep’ dominates much of the consumer facing literature by 1958, the marketing department still uses the ‘Willys’ term. Of course, the company’s name is Willys Motors, but that’s pretty much a legacy name by this time (at least in retrospect).
This August 21, 1942, photo in the Nogalas International Newspaper didn’t provide any names, but does make it appear that these airmen are enjoying the ride.

New front disc brakes on a ball joint front end and rear drum brakes.
This is a full frame Jeep and does not use a VW pan.
This is a super fun Jeep to drive, its faster than a stock M38, easy to get in and out of and easily cruises at highway speeds.

My great uncle had a low mileage early CJ-5 jeep that was rarely used and rarely left the farm (sold before his death; sadly I couldn’t get it at the time). So, it’s possible the 8200 mileage is correct. However, with that low of mileage, I’m surprised the heater (or whatever was installed on the passenger side — see engine compartment photo — isn’t still there).
