“48 Willy’s on a
41 Willy’s coupe chassis.
Rat rod if you will.
This is fully custom from a build back in the 80s.
Channeled 7-9 inches.
Shortened.
Wagon top removed.
They built a truck cab top that has been removed but still have it.
Has a 65ish for 170 with a Zenith/stomberg euro carb from the 70s.
Since I got it I did a suicide front end dropping front about 8 inches and extending it 36 inches. Rear dropped 3 to give it a California rake look to it.
I have not driven it since I finished the suspension changes.
There is defenately things that still have to be done. Some lights that have to be fixed and button up some things. I drove the car last November or so before I started mods.
Only started since then.
This is a one of a kind that will never be seen again.
It is registered and titles and up to date. With title in hand.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
This may be a good price. It’s listed for $7500 in the text, but my only $6800 in the title (might be a price drop). The body isn’t perfect, as the steps are missing.

“Unique opportunity to restore a 1950 Willy’s Jeepster. Almost all, if not all, the parts are there with many duplicates. Includes two engines and transmissions – one is the original 6 cylinder and the other is a 1953 6 cylinder. I just finished restoring one and have decided not to tackle another, so this is your opportunity. Selling as a package only, I won’t separate for parts.
Cash sales only. You will need to pick up the vehicle. Sorry, no shipment or delivery. I won’t accept PayPal or other electronic payments.”
Next updates will be Friday.
A CJ-V35/U landed on the front page of the Leisuretime Magazine, published by the Gazette Telegraph out of Colorado Springs, Colorado, on August 07, 1965. It looks like the jeep has been modified with a taller radiator (and perhaps another engine), which apparently led to the lack of a hood.
For the story, the writer spent some time with the Mountain Airs Citizen Band Radio Club (not the catchiest of names). I didn’t realize that CB clubs were a ‘thing’, but there was even a magazine dedicated to that group of folks called S9. Here’s an example from 1966 (one in which the Mountain Airs’ name appears somewhere): https://worldradiohistory.com/Archive-CB-Radio/S9-Magazine/S9-1966-05.pdf.
Below is the Gazette Telegraph article:
It’s a good situation when you have people to remove your jeep’s chains….

MacArthur flew to the Korean Central front today on his 13th visit since the war. Marines are pictured here removing chains from MacArthur’s jeep after it was towed from Hongchon R. when it stalled while fording river. Gen. Ridgway is in rear of jeep (back to camera).Photo measures 9 x 7inches. Photo is dated 03-20-1951.”
