Cool photo and a nice shot showing Scenic Tours on the back. I imagine this the Ouray area?

“This is an original press photo. Colorado’s high mountain country is custom made for the rugged individualist who likes to get off the beaten path into areas where man is seldom seen. Many communities rent jeeps, and some schedule jeep cavalcades that take you into areas of breathtaking beauty that have been hidden from the eyes of man since the beginning of time.Photo measures 8 x 10.25inches. Photo is dated 12-30-1966.”
Looks solid.

“Hard to believe, I know but this 78 year old WWII style Jeep has no rust either on the body or the frame. Why not?
Because it spent most of its life in Nevada. If you are looking for that near-perfect Army (Navy/Marine Grey) Jeep, this is a No Brainer.
New components include; battery, air cleaner small (original goes too), electronic ignition with Dead Man antitheft switch, four 6 x !6 army tread tires, lights and electrical wiring harness, pintle hitch, fan belt, carburetor, driver side mirror, black upholstered seats, including removable rear seat, Army OD drivers seat (never used), fuel tank & cap, original design heater (in box), towing bar with light kit (in box). New overhauls on 4-cyl. go-devil engine, new transmission/transfer case (old pair go with jeep). So why am I selling it? I am too old (76) and too fat to get in and out of it easily. That’s all I can remember writing this.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** for $6000.
(08/04/2018) It’s missing a few minor things, but over all is in pretty good shape. Has an odd set of hubcaps. As usual, it lacks the soft top. I’m beginning to wonder if people hated the soft top (the visibility would have been worse than a standard soft top), so they simply got rid of the soft tops. It’s listed as a 1957, but the serial number puts it as an early 1956.
“THIS IS A 1957 WILLYS DJ-3A. IT IS PART OF A LARGE COLLECTION OF EARLY WILLYS JEEPS THAT WERE ALL STORED AWAY OVER 33 YEARS AGO.
THIS JEEP IS ALL ORIGINAL WITH EXCEPTION OF THE SEATS. IT HAS A SOLID BODY, 4 CYLINDER 134 CI MOTOR, 3 SPEED TRANS WITH COLUMN SHIFT, AND 2WD.
THIS JEEP HAS BEEN UNUSED FOR MANY YEARS NOW. I PURCHASED IT MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE CONDITION OF THE BODY, VERY STRAIGHT WITH NO RUST. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR IN ANY RESTORATION. THIS JEEP RUNS GREAT, HOWEVER MAY NEED A NEW FUEL PUMP. 56337 10252”

Nice looking CJ-3B. The windshield is missing the channel, so either its been removed or that windshield is from a DJ-3A convertible. It’s also missing the parking brake assembly.

The truck is finished in Olive Drab Green and fitted with black vinyl seats, a roll bar, a tow bar, a receiver hitch, and a folding canvas top. “’48 Jeep CJ2A. Starts, runs, drives and stops. Solid running example of this old classic. $3800.”
The July 14th, 1955, issue of the Auburn Journal, Auburn California, highlighted events from a recent jeep trip in the Sierra Mountains from Wentworth Springs to Lake Tahoe.
Joe spotted this Dry Chemical CJ-2A jeep on Facebook that was based at the Niagara District Airport in Virgil, Ontario, Canada. I have no more info about it.
Andy mentioned he didn’t recognize this tin toy jeep. Neither do I. It looks similar to a Marx. The toy is about 4″ long. The grille’s uneven-ness suggests it is home made, but the rest seems manufactured to me. Any guesses? It sold for $29.99.

These two “No Roads Needed For a ‘Jeep'” ads appeared during the late spring of 1953 in two different California newspapers. I don’t know if this was just a regional or a national campaign.
This first ad appeared in the April 29, 1953, issue of the Sacramento Bee, sponsored by the Winter Willys Company:
This second ad appeared in the May 12, 1953, issue of the Santa Cruz Sentinel, sponsored by Mosso & Puccinelli:

“1952 Willys Jeep CJ3A runs great
Bought this jeep as a non-running project, it had been stored indoors for 23 years.
It now runs great and is in very good condition.
Compared to most classic jeeps this has minimal rust.
It has a few little dents and battle scars, and would look really sharp
with a new paint job, unfortunately I’m not good at body work.
As you can see it has been slightly modified. The original L-head engine was replaced many years ago with a good F-head jeep engine. This gives you a little more horsepower. Because the F-head sits higher in the engine bay a hole was cut in the hood to make room for the carburetor.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000.
It’s been parked for two decades.
“Jeep Willys for sale.. 2000$ each OBO, Most likely CJ 1945+ I am unfortunately not a specialist in Jeeps that is why I leave investigation to real Jeep funs. Jeep have not been used since 2000.. for last 20 years parked in a garage. It is in a condition like on a photos. Buyer must buy AS IS and bring own trailer to haul it out. Engine TURNS. Great vehicle for restoration project. Lost title, sale between an owner base on DMV bill of sale.”
