Let’s hope yesterday’s rain at the 2024 Willys Reunion gives way to some sun! There was at least a little sun in the evening, as shown by the Jeepster Man’s photo posted to Facebook.

Meanwhile, wow, time flies! It’s hard to believe that it’s been six years since we attended the Willys Reunion, which is happening this weekend. Pictured below is part of our Alaska Or Rust Crew from 2017, who reunited at the 2018 Reunion.

Here’s an interesting piece of history. According to the story, it is a promotion build Hurst Customs did for jeep. It’s unclear to me how many of these were made.

This front clip is from a promotional build Hurst Customs did for Jeep ..this was the time they partnered on the rare Hurst Jeepsters. I bought what came to be nicknamed the “Green Weenie” in early 1972 as the first retail owner from a Detroit dealer who got it from AMC — who had no interest in using it for promotions as intended….as they were scrambling to redesign the CJ5 anyway.
I would love to have someone use this fiberglass custom frontend to recreate either the bright green Hurst Jeep as pictured or use it for your custom build! It bolts onto a 71 or earlier CJ5 and I bet Jeepsters….i still have the Jeep but removed the front clip and stored over 30 years ago as I set up the Jeep to run the Rubicon.
Asking $3,000 front clip and side pipes. In Michigan but can be shipped pretty easily.

“Originally a military Jeep, this Jeep was converted to a fire chasing Jeep by the Virginia forestry service and then finally used on a farm. This Jeep has the 134 cu.in. Hurricane I-4 engine with the original T-90 3 speed transmission and twin-stick Dana 18 transfer case. Jeep was converted to a 12v electrical system and has an electronic ignition system. Electric fuel pump installed. New wiper motor, master brake cylinder replaced. Jeep completely raptor lined inside and out and undercoated. Full roll cage with custom standup platform on rear. “‘m selling a Willy’s Jeep with a 2-point lift and PTO original to vehicle. The jeep has a title. I bought this as a project a while back haven’t done anything with it the previous owner did quite a bit of work on it the whole entire body was sandblasted metal is in really good shape which is rare. Body is primer with Automotive primer. will not take much work to finish body. Motor is unknown Currently out of the vehicle I was told it is going to need a rebuild I have a box full of parts off the engine looks like I have everything needed. All the hydraulic lines were replaced hydraulic cylinder repacked drivetrain gone through . All by previous owner . Brand new tires were put on a couple years ago no miles on them. This Jeep also comes with a factory plow pump and half cab with doors all original will not separate must buy everything these Jeeps with the three point hitch and 540 PTO are very rare especially in this condition.”

“Go-for-Digger Trenchers were built on Willys and Kaiser-era Jeep CJ5’s duallys from the early 1960’s to the early 1970’s. There has to be a few more of these left out there, maybe one in need of parts…

Power transmission box PTO for a Go-for-Digger trencher with a build date around 1969/1970. As you see it. Spins freely. It’s one of 3 parts that I have left from a resto-modded CJ-5 that I built.

Another part is a correct front bumper with the solid steel bar reinforcement and blade lifting chain. Pics show bumper still attached.

The third part is the full-length set of 3/8” (I think) steel outer frame reinforcements that came on the GFD Trencher (and maybe the backhoe). Better pics soon, but if you know these things, you know what I mean. They are on the floor in last pic.
