John has this CJ6 listed out in MN, noted as a Fire Department rig then a was put to work in a Water Department. The top on this one is really nice 8 Windows, 3 Wipers, it looks really neat.

Playing the where’s Waldo game there are hints of a M715 and FC-170 in the background, so you might want to bring a bigger check book, but more importantly a bigger trailer.

Seller’s description

Runs, drives and stops. Rare CJ6A; one of 460. Plow works. Bought new by the Janesville Wisconsin Fire Department, originally red; then used by the Janesville Wisconsin Water Department and painted yellow. Jeep is in Fountain City Wisconsin. Mileage is 25,247; possible it is 125,247 but doubtful. The Jeep is far from perfect. These are hard to find in any condition; this is in good shape for the Midwest!

1960 FC170 FOR SALE $18k

This one shows very well in the pics, can’t verify the current condition as its not running and no dates on the pics if these are older from the restore, but its way cool, lots of detail went into this at one time from what it shows.

Seller’s description

1960 Willys FC-170DRW for sale. The good: I bought it after it had a frame off restoration so time around 2010. The body and frame are in very good shape to the extent the the leaf springs still have clean paint on them. The bad: Not currently running, I had an issue where on its last drive where it lost oil pressure without warning. Likely a spun bearing or two based on oil testing. While trying to get it home It also spun the pilot bushing killing the trans. I replaced the trans with a refurbished unit. Unfortunately It just didn’t want to seat right and I got tired of fighting with it knowing the motor needed work. Price is negotiable to the right home or will trade for a rougher shape FC150 as they are what I really want.

1949 Jeepster For Sale $5900

This was shared on OWF the other day, pretty neat Jeepster, looks complete and has a lot going for it. If your looking for a Jeepster might be one to take a look at.

Seller’s description

Rare 1949 Willys Jeepster. Ford 200 6, 3 speed with overdrive. Super straight, solid and complete. (Minus the top.) No rust ! It was in a barn stored since the late 80s. I cleaned it up, sorted, tuned, sanded and primed. It runs and drives surprisingly very well. It’s old, not fast and may need tinkering etc. However, engine runs great, (Was supposedly rebuilt) good clutch, brakes, lights/ wiring etc. There is a chatter in reverse I’ve yet to address but overall its in very good shape. With minimal work this will be nice. Fixed up these sell in the 20k range so I know it’s priced very fairly. Cool classic. Yes, I have title/ paperwork. Always consider offers and trades but cash is preferred.

1947 Delivery Fresno, CA $5,000 (Drag Willys)

So here is one Andy tossed my way, I don’t see this as a viable Drag Racing anything here, but you can absolutely build it to what you need this to be. You will need some “Vision” here.

The Delivery with Barn Doors is the cool part to me, along with the patina, it looks solid.

IMO I’m taking this off the chassis they tossed together that sounds like it all needs to be rebuilt anyway and you have a really neat Willys to work with there are some areas that look done like the firewall and transmission tunnel. Floor looks really nice,

No title so that’s a negative, not being sold as a street legal anything here so its going to require some work.

The collection of parts is impressive, for how much modification has been done, I don’t personally see the pay back here at the price point in parts alone so your going to need a plan here as far as use and project base goes.

If it was on my way home, I would stop in and take a look and see what the deal is here if you looking for a project base.

From the Ad:

“I’m going to go ahead and get a VIN applied to this, so it may take a couple of months before this will be available for pickup.

Not sure of the year, but It’s an early Willys Panel. There is no VIN plate on this, and I have no idea what the VIN is.

We were going to make this into a twin turbo drag car. Comes will brand new glass and rubbers, door handle repair kit and LED headlights.

We had the frame, underside and interior of the body blasted. The frame has been painted, but some of the body was left raw and there is some mild surface rust to clean up.

The firewall has a brake master cylinder installed and smooth panels welded in. The frame, firewall and floor have been modified to fit a bigger transmission.

The original 2wd front suspension was cut out and a narrowed crown vic front suspension is partially installed.

We do have the hood, but I forgot to take a photo. The rear leaf hangars were cut out and aftermarket ones tacked in place.

The rear axle and springs are only mocked up and the axle will need a rebuild (Explorer 8.8).

You can buy it with, or without the crown vic front suspension.

I won’t sell parts, you’ll have to buy the body if you want the parts. No trades, sorry. Bill of sale only, remember, there is no VIN, so it might be difficult to title if you’re planning on street registering it.”

Update: Price Reduced $1100 now $1,089

“Andy’s Picks”

Posted as a 1955 226, no engine installed, but you can make out a very little part of the gauges and the rear gate is split so could be. Has the longer input shaft on T90 for a 6 cylinder, and has the extra shifter so should have a Overdrive with this one, which is a bonus.

Looking inside there are more surprises besides the vintage buckets, the heater box and controls are the later post mid 1962 commonly supplied on the 230_OHC Wagons and trucks, then the later CJ’s had a version of these as well. So they could be of interest to some collectors.

You start adding it up and you have a good little chunk of parts here for sure. I’m not sure you have a break even parting this out when you start adding it all up at the current asking price, but parts are parts.

This is a total project as far as a restoration goes, you are not getting that “out West” rust free start here with this one.

From the Ad:

“It’s a 1955 6-266 Willy’s Jeep Wagon This will be a major restoration project for whoever buys it. It needs alot of fabrication as it has a ton of rust / rot. Serious inquiries only. Title: Vintage [hidden information] Station Wagon Project Car Willy’s Jeep Make an offer. Price is very negotiable! I don’t want to trade. I have too many cars! Condition: Non-running, requires tow; has rust; engine disassembled years ago with various parts sorted in boxes within the car(in pictures) Includes: Original title, owner’s and service manuals, old part receipts. Note: Vehicle hasn’t run in 20+ years. Has been sitting in the SoCal sun the entire time. This is going to be a huge project for whoever buys it. Lots of rust + fabrication needed, if you don’t know how to restore a car then this is not for you!

Stordor For Sale Atwater, CA and Goldfield, NV

• CATEGORIES: Willys Trucks • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Folks not familiar with the Stordor these were box trucks that were on Willys chassis. There was a fairly large market of box trucks like the Grumman, Metro of course the big 3 as well, the box was installed over a chassis.

Here is a back post from Dave on the Stordor……..

The quickest way to tell them apart is by the grill in the front.

The Willys Stordor has a unique single set of vertical grill bars on top of the dual horizontal grill bar areas below.

These pop up from time to time, price can vary based on condition.

Here is another from Andy, we are posting the Ad years here, but really I’m a little skeptical that these would be mid ’40s, my guess would be late ’40s, like 48, 49, 50….. but someone may know better then my guess here. My baisis is just I wonder if Willys had the vision to sell these so early on in the chassis only version right out of the gate. The answer could be yes it was all part of the overall design to support the market and they were happy to sell units.

This could very well be a Chevy not sure buyer beware, if you get there and need some Willys help with ID on the driveline post up a comment. Could also make a Cousin Eddie RV out of this one!

eWillys Content and Contributors

• CATEGORIES: News • TAGS: This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Just wanted to share some stuff on the backend, this will be a team effort and you will see some stuff from a few great Willys folks along the way.

Stuff like “Andy’s Picks”, and a few other tricks up our sleeves. Some other Authors are in the works, if they toss up a formal introduction or not, up to them really, but we will have some others helping post stuff. So be on the look out!

I think there is value in most anything but I don’t think we need to post just to post, to fill a certain quota. It may not be all ad’s all the time. The Authors may have some neat information to share or points of view on all things Willys.

Will try to keep the ad links up high in the posts for folks “in the know”, but if I’m learning it for the first time odds are I’m sharing that along the way because there probably is someone else who.csn use that link or knowledge, and maybe I get some comments and we all learn something new.

Vendors

One plan is to reach out to some of the quailty vendors who keep our Willys world working. Mostly to see what’s new or upcoming, maybe you have some special stock of something that might be of interest to others.

Vendor spotlight might be fun to hear a little bit about the history or start up. Probably will have a quick format for that process. No skin in the game here for us, just trying to get some good info out to folks for where parts can be sourced if you would like to talk and share a little at some point keep us in mind. More to come on this idea.

Events

Same for events, it’s great to share a link and that’s super easy, but what makes your event unique, any tips on travel or where to stay for guests from a far. I really like to know about any super tricky roads or access to the event, is there trailer parking for example.

We are able to do something a little more then just the link if your game to share we would love to help spread the word. It’s so much work to put these events on so happy to at a minimum share the link, but can also add some stuff if helpful.

Comments

Posts in general feel free to add a comment or more details if we get it wrong or there is a varying opinion. But please keep it respectful and positive.

Not required at all to comment or like a post. We don’t need to track any of that, but if you do like it or do not, always welcome to let us know so we can get some feedback. This is a non-political site, family oriented,  so posts and comments will always be geared towards that.

If the year is posted for a rig and it’s wrong I typically post the year as per the ad, but will add a comment if it’s a Salad or just not what it is. Sometimes that’s also on purpose to keep all of us on our toes.

Contact Us

Work in progress, while we have a temporary email set up for now, I’m waiting to see if we can fix the site mail in the next few weeks before we post it up, so leave a comment for now and we will get it, if it needs to be off line let us know and we can reach out, you won’t need to share your email in the comment, it comes across the backend.

Thank You!

I really appreciate everyone who has reached out and overall supported me or the site over the years. It’s been a good start and as we get things sorted should be an enjoyable spot to check out from time to time.

Thanks, Tim

1953 Willys CJ3B Woodland Park, CO $1,800 (Deleted)

“Andy’s Picks”

CJ3B, project for sure. Again short cut for those in the know.

This posting has been deleted by its author.

The value here is probably in the sum of the parts.

SBC with center dump manifolds sure makes it easier for the exhaust.

Can really see why the louvers are needed in the hood, luckily this is probably underpowered for a V8 swap looks fairly basic.

Has the start of power brakes which something better then stock 9″ will be needed for sure.

Ramsey Winch

Husky Overdrive

Has some neat accessories.

Here is a breakout for folks who may not be 100% familiar with all these parts or what’s going on here.

On a standard no accessories Transfer Case there is a small tin cover on the drivers side, pop that off and this allows for some neat options, and in this case multiple options.

One thing needed is to count the teeth on the gear under that cover, early ones are 26 tooth (26T) later are 29 tooth (29T). So not all parts are equal, buyer beware.

The emergency brake is also off the back of the TC where the rear drive shaft comes out. Fairly standard stuff there.

00Q0Q_gVQtbqF1y31_0CI0t2_1200x900

The SBC will also have a special bell housing adapter and the front bearing retainer on the transmission will be special for a SBC conversion, so you will want to grab all those stuff when your picking SBC adapters, would require a long input shaft as well vs the short 4cyl one. (None of this is shown here)

So as much of a project this one is, there is alot going on to pay attention to, and it could all be in very poor shape, but it looks fairly complete.

• CATEGORIES: CJ-2A • TAGS: , This site contains affiliate links for which I may be compensated.

Update: Listing Removed.

Yes I fully get the CJ2A was not made in 1950, but as we know it’s possible the title work and sale was done in 1950. My motto is if the title says it’s a 1950, well who is to argue. But really with something this old anything could have been added along the way, Jeep Salads are very common. Also makes no mention of a title in the ad, so may need to do some homework.

I’m kinda green to CJ’s and the differences so come learn with me if you would like to follow along, or click the link for

There is nothing here. No web page for this address. 404 Error.

My easy button to learn more was the resource in

at CJ3A.info they have a great guide so I followed along with that.

https://cj3a.info/cj3a/cj2acj3a.html

First the windshield 2 piece is a CJ2A, the 3A is 1 piece. But those are interchangeable.

Screenshot_20241229_214502_Chrome

Ignition switch on the right side.

Screenshot_20241229_214429_Chrome

The 2A drivers seat bracket has that slight downward slope vs the more 90 deg the 3A has.

Screenshot_20241229_214345_Chrome

Then this has the bow storage on the outside of the drivers rear quarter. CJ2A had this the 3As did not.

Screenshot_20241229_214406_Chrome

Some other features I like on this one…….

This rig has some great Patina to it, it could be a really fun project.

Has a top bow.

Wheels look period correct. Not going to have the period correct air in the LF, but can’t have everything.

Don’t miss that rear PTO!

This was one of “Andy’s Picks”, thanks for the link! Doubt he thought I could drag this out so much, but as I learn might as well pass it on to others who may want to follow along.

Update: Listing removed.

Gail has this Jeepster posted for sale, looks to be between Tyler, TX and Shreveport, LA. Has some items that need to be addressed. But also has a lot going for it, the bright work looks complete, and the bulk of it is there. I don’t have a Jeepster in the fleet…… yet!

I’m not sure those dual autolite horns are original, anyone know? They are period correct and do sound cool, I do like the Wagon and Truck smaller single early horns, they have a classic sound.

There is nothing here. No web page for this addres. 404 Error.

“Punkin” is ready for a new garage. She runs well with her 134L 4 cylinder engine and 3 speed manual transmission.

She isn’t perfect, but not bad for a 75 yr old. A few things have been replaced on her lately. All new wiring harness, wheel bearings, brakes, master cylinder, fuel pump, water pump, fan belt, starter, battery, kit in carburetor, bumpers and steps were re-chromed a few years ago and other necessary items replaced.”

Looks pretty solid.

“This is a 1949 Willys CJ-3A with the 4-cylinder gas enigne and a 3-speed manual transmission. It shows 13,103 miles though true miles are not known. It is bright green with black leather-like seat covers. This Willys was restored in the 1980’s and has been stored in a heated shop ever since.”

“This Willys has been in our family for over 40 years. We recently replaced the carbuerator, spark plugs, wires, and battery. Runs and drives like it should with some oil leaks. No top, doors, etc. $13500.”

Happy Holidays!

Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah, not often they start on the same day but we celebrate Christmas in our family and have many family and friends who celebrate Hanukkah.  I think anytime you can take a break and disconnect from the day to day it’s a great time of year to spend with your family and friends.

I looked through my phone gallery looking for something to post, I can always toss up a photo of Willa Dean or the Red Wagon each have been our Christmas cards over the past two seasons. But probably my favorite Willys event of 2024 was the Great Willys Picnic. (Way too many pics to choose from!)

So here are some shots I took at the Picinic it was a wonderful turnout of over 90 Willys and a great drive out in Willa Dean, got to connect with a few folks from over at OWF and spending that time with folks.

The overall venue is awesome, lots of things to see outside of the Picnic there is the WK&S Train Ride, Wanamaker Kempton and Southern Railroad. It’s very nice operation and took some time to check out the station, gift shop, and food. Talking with some of the volunteers on how they got involved and it’s quite the family and friends operation.

My ride over is all back roads from NW NJ I crossed at Belvidere and shot out West you ride the hills of NE PA. Having never taken some of these roads before it was an exciting ride for me, Willa Dean has her original column shift and  L134, it really is a time capsule, in total looks like Google recorded 121 total miles for the trip.

If your looking for a trip to the NE this is a great June event. Lots of work goes into this one.
