Free-Lock Hubs on eBay
UPDATE: These Free-Lock hubs are still available.
(11/18/2020) This ebay ad for Free-Lock hubs provides the most detailed pics I have for this version of the hub. These are 27 spline, which means they were produced after 1972? If that’s the case, then for some reason the Free-Lock brand that was abandoned circa 1959 was resurected for these hubs.

Meyer Snow Plows ElectroLift Service and Instruction Documents
These there documents should help someone service their ElectroLIft units for the Meyer Snowplows. Neither has a date, but I would guess these are close to 1960.
There are two ElectroLift control types, one mechanical and one electrical, so make sure you know what type you have. This first form provides installation instructions for the mechanical type. It is Form Number 1-101. Page 2 shows only. a partial electrical diagram. I’m not sure why only the partial diagram shows.
Imperfect .. Perfect Circle Branded 10-Spline Selectro Hubs **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
These are imperfect Perfect Circle hubs as a cam is broken (see broken part in pic one). However, there are some useful photos of these Perfect Circle-branded 10-Spline Selectro Hubs.
“Selling the used locking hubs in the pictures. These are aftermarket and called Perfect Circle. We don’t know much about these hubs. My husband said he removed these from a 1971 Jeep truck that was in a junkyard. He thought they were neat and brought them home. Of course they are the special 10 spline hubs. These appear to be complete, but the “cam” piece (#8 in the schematic) seems to be broken on at least one hub. Look closely at the pictures and determine if they are something you want. Maybe just a little eye candy for the bench area. These are being sold for parts or not working. Hopefully there are enough good parts here to allow someone to complete their project. These are very clean and ready for a new owner.”
As you can see, the Dualmatic schematic is similar to the Perfect Circle Schematic, though, surprisingly, the casting of the base is slightly different. I’m betting the cams are the same though.
More pics of the Perfect Circle hubs.
1946 War Asset Sale of Surplus Jeeps
UPDATE: This photo shows the crowds at the Benicia Arsenal. It was published in the June 30, 1945, issue of the Beatrice Times out of Beatrice, Nebraska:
=======================
Originally published November 5th, 2020: The June 25, 1946, issue of the San Francisco Examiner shared the news that more than 5000 veterans lined up begining at midnight to purchase just over 1500 available jeeps, though not that many jeeps would actually sell. For most veterans, there multi-hour waits were in vain. The buyer of the first jeep discovered that his jeep wouldn’t start, but the motor pool helped him get it going.
1948 Truck Waterville, ME $8500
Glenn forwarded this ad. He added the following info:
“Hi Dave, This early 2wd pickup is for sale locally. I’ve talked with the owner. It was fire dept. owned, patina and all, never previously restored, and has had lots of recent mechanical work completed. It is local and I’d be happy to do an evaluation for a potential buyer. Especially up here in Maine, we don’t often see the 2wd version.”

https://www.facebook.com/commerce/products/1964-kristi-kt-4g
“This is 1 of 2 ever produced KT-4G units
Perfect item for a snowcat collector who’s looking for a unique snowcat or a very rare Kristi cat, and Yes… this is a Jeep CJ cab on it, which makes it all that better and more rare – fitting in with your Jeep collection as well.
Running engine when parked few years ago, tracks still got life in them if one wanted to simply get it started and run it for a season or more. Globemaster Airplanes and Jeeps
No year listed on this press photo that shows a slat grille MB being loaded into a Globemaster. The photo appears to have been ordered on July 2nd, 1947, but that’s likely not the date of the photo. My attempt to find the photo in a newspaper failed, but I did find a few other photos of jeeps and the Douglas C-74 Globemaster.
View all the information on eBay
“This is an original press photo. Military – Jeep – Globemaster aircraftPhoto measures 10.25 x 8inches. Photo is dated –NONE.”
In the summer of 1946, a Globemaster was loaded with 15 jeeps. A few photos of the event made the newspapers. This first one appears to have an illustrated jeep on the elevator:
This photo shows a broader look at the lineup of jeeps.
This article in the September 06, 1945, issue of the Daily News out of Los Angeles introduces the world to the new Globemaster. The bottom image shows two jeeps loaded next to one another.
Jane Bundy’s 1947 CJ-2A
This nice looking CJ-2A wasn’t restored to 100% original, but it sure looks nice and will provide owner Jane Bundy with a great vehicle for years to come. The Miller Brothers Hot Rod Barn in Wilkesboro, NC, did the work.
