Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $700.
If in good condition, it’s an okay price, but if worn, it will cost more to buy it and have it repaired than buying a new one from Herm.
“This came with a project, but I’m doing a powertrain swap, so I won’t be using it. It is a part so you can inspect, and then put it back together, or have Herm in Oregon rebuild it for you.”

This looks to be a parts jeep. Has no title.
“As far as these go, it has a very solid and straight body. No rust of consequence, lots of great parts, tub, etc. Would make a great donor body or project to build. I do not know the exact year as I do not have a title. Bill of sale only. A past owner repowered this Willys using an early mustang 6 cylinder, it is installed and all hooked up. It “ran when parked”, but not drivable. The project was never completed and it has been sitting for many years. The motor does turn over. It needs a new home as I no longer have time for it.”

“1949 Willy’s Farm Truck clowned military Jeep (not running). I bought this from an estate sale. Was going to restore it, but do not have the time. It has the L134 engine, PTO and a gear box belt drive on back to run farm equipment (it’s a rare farm truck only a handful still exsists). I was told it ran in parades until owner began to strip it for parts to restore another Jeep. It’s a CJ3A with military parts to make it look like a military Jeep. $4500 OR BEST OFFER”

(02/15/2023) To me, this looks to be a DJ-3A body. It’s possible between the year listed (1953) and the CJ-3B windshield that someone put a DJ body on a CJ-3B. I think the dash may have been skimmed with a thin piece of metal.

“1952 Willy’s cj3a fully custom build stretched body 23” and stretched wheel base. AMC 360 v8 th400 Dana 44 wagoneer axles ARB lockers 514 gears on board air runs and drive street legal crawler.”
This runs. It’s got a late model 2A grille. The data plates look to be early CJ-2A at around 28XXX. The steering column had a shifter, but it’s been converted to a floor shifter. This last tool indents. So, I suspect at least some of this is early CJ-2A.

This press release package is currently at $29.50 with three days to go. It’s unclear if this is a complete press kit or a partial one (seems partial to me given there is only one photo). The date on the photo suggests this kit may have been release September 16, 1959.
What’s interesting to me is that the 2-page document on the left is one of the few documents create by Willys Motors that explains that the new Surrey is the name of the model released domestically and that the Gala is the export name, though no explanation is given for the difference.

UPDATE: Grant thinks this jeep may have been owned by the Grand Imperial Hotel out of Silverton. That does make sense given the logo on the side.
This looks to be an early Scenic Jeep Tour postcard. I don’t *think* this was the San Juan Scenic Jeep Tour company. Maybe it was the Davis Scenic Jeep Tours? Here is where I found the photos.
