Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Located in Central West Texas. Ford GPW numbers matching Jeep: Frame number, engine number and body tag all match. Frame is clean, F-stamped as shown. The Jeep has been registered on the G503 site indicating early spring production number by SN. The Jeep has been in Texas since it’s military sale. It has been on a ranch used primarily for hunting. There is no title to the Jeep. It will be sold on a bill of sale with my name, address and phone number on the bill of sale. Continue reading
This GPW has been converted (sort of) into a high hood.

“1944 Ford GPW JEEP Runs. Needs some work. Comes as is. Serious inquiries only. Was converted to a high hood Jeep in the mid 60’s in order to put a bigger engine in. Has a straight six 196 rambler engine in it”
This project is only at $685. The winch alone appears worth a good chunk of that. No description provided.

(04/11/2023) Seller indicates it only needs a fuel line. Other than that it is ready to run. I’m going to guess it needs more than just a fuel line.

“Up for sale 1949 Willys CJ-3A. 4cyl. New tires, shocks. Many new parts on the engine, pertronix upgrade mini starter, new water pump and aluminum radiator, new carb and fuel tank. Just needs fuel line finished for it to run. Landed a 53 CJ-3B so moving on.”

“Early civilian Willys Jeep in rough shape. Parts, project, wall art, yard art, Rat, the choice is yours. Has rust holes but it’s not a salty rot box. Floors have been patched all around. What you see is what I have. No title. Might be able to help with that for expenses,but you would need to help me confirm year and model and serial location correctly so I don’t have it wrong. Not sure of the exact model or year built. I know it’s the internet but please don’t roast me. I’m a Ford/Mopar/GM guy LOL. Sometime in the 1950s Bob Meyer partnered with Lloyd Sehnert to form Mountain Safari, a guide company out of Walsenburg, Colorado, The pair took clients into the Sangre De Cristo’s in Southern Colorado.
According to Bob Meyer’s obituary, Bob “took his jeeps where no one had before, including the Walsenburg fair grounds where he had challenged local horsemen to a calf-roping competition wherein Bob had mounted a saddle to the hood of his jeep so he could freely swing his lariat and lasso the calf.”
