Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. This sedan delivery brochure has the odd form number of PDCM1-3CM-949. It’s one of several early wagon brochures that had forgotten to post.

This January 15, 1942, article in the Amarillo Globe-Times highlights the continued debate concerning the jeep vs. the peep.
This French-Canadian ad was published in the August 1947 issue of Le Bulletin des Agriculteurs.

This 1959 Willys Wagon Maverick was restored a few years back by a coffee shop in southern California. They reportedly spent $30K to get it finished. Unfortunately, that coffee shop went tits up so they sold the Willys to the guy I purchased it from. This car is a nice driver not a show car. It has power windows, power steering, A/C, Heat, CD with bluetooth. It has a chevy 350 motor with an automatic transmission. This thing gets lots of attention. It will come with the original vintage roof rack and some other odds and ends. Car is registered in TX but has a CA title in my name.”

This militarized CJ-2A looks solid.
“This is a SOLID 75 year old Willys. Absolutely no rust on body or tub. There is surface rust on undercarriage and engine bay only. Just finished restoring. Body and tub were completely sanded, primered and sprayed with correct OD paint. This Willys is parade and show car quality. Has a CLEAR ARKANSAS TITLE. What you see is what you get, NO title. Too bad, I learned how to drive in this jeep. L134 flathead engine, column shift, two-wheel drive. Rusty & rotted. Dont know if engine still turns. This originally had the enclosed rear; what the post office used years ago before they got what they are using today. I was going to part it out but if I can offload it whole it’s just less I have to do. AS-IS as pictured!!”
Can’t say that I’ve ever heard of a “Willy X Jeep”? Looks like a plain old CJ-5 to me.

“This is the nicest and most original 1960 Willy X Jeep you will find under $25,000. 6592 original miles. In 2012 @ 2346 miles a complete rebuild was performed on the entire vehicle, costing $11,000. ALL receipts for the rebuild on hand as well as original jeep documents. Everything on the Jeep works as it should. One light switch knob handle is broken. Little to NO rust, tires are in great condition, 4WD works as it should. It is a one of a kind Jeep. You would have to pay $25,000 to come anywhere close to the quality and collector value of this jeep. This is not a Jeep to slap big wheels on and go mudding. It’s just a pleasure to own this piece of history. I have enjoyed owning this Jeep but as with its second owner, it is hard on my back. I am the 4th owner. You could take this Jeep to a show as it is.”

Appears to have its original floor along with the hard to find original Spen hubcaps, 16″ rims, landing leg, and a very nice tailgate. It needs some panel and frame patches or use as is. Could be restored or use as is with the patina look. Great to pull behind a Willys CJ2A, CJ3A, Wagon or other Jeep. $950 No title. Pick up in Western NC.”

“Pretty much all stock, my ex parked it in 1998 when the brakes failed unfortunately it also had blown head gasket so #4 cylinder is stuck hard, for what its worth the other 3 look pretty good. It has 2 sets of tires and wheels, new tune up parts under the seat. bucket seats are from mid 60’s GM car. Looks like it has at least 110k miles. $1750. OBO would consider quad in trade. If you are reading this it’s for sale and as the post says I have a clean title.”

“I have a 1951 cj3-a for sale. I purchased this jeep in 2013 and it has sat in the garage since then.
Super clean and rust free body& frame.
Was going to do a v/8 conversion, I have way too many projects.
This jeep has all of the original drivetrain. I probably only drove this maybe 20 miles.
Brakes need to be rebuilt.

There’s no date or form number related to this colorful brochure. You’ll note that sometimes “Deluxe” with a small “l” is used and in other places “DeLuxe” is used. It may be the first brochure that highlighted the “DeLuxe” model (see a later one here).
Mario posted these photo on Facebook. After using Google image search, I determined they may have originated on the website OMNIA, a site that aggregates digital collections (a site I’ve never seen before … looks like a useful resource for me).
I’m not sure what this is worth. It is currently priced at a buy-it-now price of $92.

“Wonderful artist rendering of CJ-5 Jeep. 1970s in a coffee plantation or cocoa plantation setting. (I’m thinking inspired by the popular TV icon Juan Valdez). Not sure if this was done for Ford Brazil or AMC given that Ford do Brasil built these for the South American market. In any event, this is a fantastic, original rendering on artist board of the era. You can see pencil lines underneath paint. I’m not an artist so I don’t know if it’s acrylic paint or watercolor or ???
Measures approx 16″ x 11″ and is in very good condition for its age. There Issa bit of very faint spotting in the yellow sky area but it’s barely noticeable; corners are bumped but framing will cover that. The blue strip at bottom of rendering appears to be painted tape.”
