“1948 Willys Jeep Runs well”
This is a running project. Contact Jerry Bubolz at 480 227 8876 if interested.
“M-38. April 1952. #62798. 12Volt. Solid floor pans, good seat frames. Starts,
runs, drives. Brakes not working, new brake lines which are included need installed. New bumperettes. Gas can and holder. Rear plug for trailer wiring. trailer hitch. Attached hardware for canvas top.
Engine and drive line working good. Much time and money spent on the running gear. New wiring started but needs to be completed. Attached hardware for canvas top.
Don’t let the rust on the hood, window frame or fenders deceive you. They are solid and in relatively good shape, just need to be sand blasted and painted.
Extra hood, window frame and fenders available for sale.”
Bill shared this announcement: Jeep has Resto-modded a Commando for Easter Jeep Safari. Jeep calls it the Jeepster Beach. According to Hemmings, it is basically a Jeepster body on a Rubicon chassis. As much as I am a believer in safety, I don’t think the roll bar works. It looks like an after thought to me. Still, it looks like a fun ride.
Barney shared photos of this neat WWII Ashtray. Created in 1944, it celebrated the liberation of Holland prior to the end of the war.
This photo captures a jeep coming ashore on Guadacanal. I tried to find this image in a newspaper, but had no luck

“Chevy SB motor, vintage air, stereo, power steering, great convertible top, convertible covers, leather seats and much more! Great condition and reach out for more information.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4500.
Given the Meyer hardtop, the Warn overdrive, and the winch, I’d say this might make a good little package for the price.
“Lots of extras: Warn overdrive, Warn winch, roll bar, tow bar, new front seats, original rear seat, metal top with doors, bikini top, rebuilt starter and alternator.
Engine was replaced by a previous owner, it is an odd-fire V6, 1987 Buick with electronic ignition.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $11,111.
I suspect the price is just a placeholder. It’s been almost two years since the last documented Safari-Kai popped up for sale. Here’s a brochure about the short-lived Safari-Kai business.
“1975 Jeep DJ5. Summertime is the perfect time for open air cruising and this little Jeep gets you where you want to go in style. Like new in appearance, this 2WD AMC Jeep DJ5 was completely reconditioned 25 years ago by Safari Kar International – one of only about 500 units built. It is economical and easy to drive with a reliable AMC in-line six cylinder engine, power steering and brakes, and a floor shifted 3 speed automatic transmission.
There are less than 1500 miles on the odometer since its rebirth as it was stored for over 20 years and has just emerged to give joy to a new generation. This is a great utility vehicle with new seats, a sturdy roll bar, a bimini top to provide some shade, a flawless Shamrock Green paint job, and new floor coverings. The tires show virtually no tread wear and the 15 inch chrome Centerline rims glitter like diamonds.
This is not the kind of luxury SUV with power accessories, air conditioning, and a stereo system. It is the kind of fun machine that is perfect for beach cruising, backroad touring or just use it in the neighborhood as an eye catching grocery getter. This is the kind of vehicle that will lure lots of new friends who will want to know all about it. There is no rust and only a little bit of dust. It has always been garaged, and it starts easily and runs great. It does not have a full top or doors, but who needs ‘em? Just hop in this breezy ride and seize the day. Carpe diem!”
This is powered by a Buick V-6.

“This is a 1951 Willys M-38 Military Jeep that I’ve owned for 50 years. In 1984, I took the whole Jeep apart, painted it and put it back together with a 1981 231ci Buick V-6 certified to have come out of a Buick Regal, wrecked with just 5,000 miles. Engine probably has about 15,000 miles on it now. With a high-rise Edelbrock intake, Holley 390cfm quad and headers, this little buggy has buckets of torque and plenty of power. Brakes are all brand new top to bottom. Ten years ago I had a new top made, complete with canvas side curtains and doors. The seats were reupholstered with black naugahide at that time. The transmission is the stock original Spicer T-90 three speed plus a 25% Full Range overdrive. Transmission was rebuilt 10 years ago. With low range, regular range and overdrive, this Jeep has nine forward speeds and three in reverse. Locking hubs in front.. Always garaged, this Jeep has been my baby all these 50 years, but it’s time to let ‘er go . Feel free to call or e-mail with any questions.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2200.
Just a fun little runabout jeep.
“Runs good and drives good, top , doors, cover for whole jeep, two wheel drive,”

This home video (stabilized and improved by Peerklota, the person that posted it) shows the Germans fleeing and the British arriving in Oosterbeek. Lots of jeeps are shown in the film. One commenter spotted her father in the video!
In this video, the same poster visited Oosterbeek and identified several locations from the video.
Maury spotted this unusual good luck charm from Fort Lewis Motors in Salem, Georgia.

“I bought this FC bed out in western Nebraska with the intent of using it behind a cj10 cab.
That project changed hands and directions several times, and now I have an FC bed with no home for it.
I do consider chopping it to make it a different size for some other Jeep based pickup project.
But if someone needs it for an actual FC, that would be best.
It’s not pristine, so modifying it wouldn’t be a huge sin. But it’s solid enough that a real enthusiast might want or need it. Not many folks can say they’ve ever owned any forward control Jeep parts at all, so maybe you want it for bragging rights or to build a trailer for your flatfender.
I paid 500 several years ago, so I guess we can start there. Just my luck it’ll be worth 3000 and I still let it go for 500…”
