“Selling the 1946 CJ2-A I bought for hunting last fall! Purchased with big dreams and aspirations for it but, they came up short. Unfortunately this is awful to house 5 people to beat around in the sticks. It runs like a dream and, is super fun to drive. It looks like it’s 75 years old but, is sound and has lots of miles left in it. I had it rewired and tuned last October at D&B auto by, Don Massey. I had he tires and rims put on right after I bought. I’m 6k into rims, tires and, wiring. I bought it for 5k. I feel like 10,000.00 is a pretty fair asking price. Comes with the original Top as seen in the pictures or, feel the wind whip Your hair when you pop the top and put the original half Willy’s windshield on”
Lots to like with this later model 3B. It has a Government plate, too.

“1959 Willys Jeep CJ-3B. Runs and stops great, drives well. New brakes all around, including new master and wheel cylinders. New seats. Front axle rebuilt with all new bearings and seals. All new glass in windshield and steel hardtop; all windows roll up/down or slide as they should. Very little surface rust. The only cancer is in the vertical seam in the rocker right under the driver side door and it is very minor. F134 engine with Carter YF carburetor. T90 transmission, twin stick Dana 18 transfer case, Dana 44 rear and Dana 25 front axles. Like new tires. I’m selling this for my dad, who does not use Facebook. It is located near Ignacio, CO. $6500 obo. This is a very nice, reliable flatfender that can be used as is or would take very little work to bring it to the next level”

The seller notes this is a 2A Chassis with a 1953 3B body, but the body is actually a later 3B body. This package also includes another 2A chassis.

This December 06, 1958, article in the Tulare Advance Register highlights the Tulare County Four-Wheel Drive Club with pics and text. It’s not a club that I recognize, but the club was pivotal to the formation of the California Association of Jeeps Clubs in 1959 (later known as the California Four Wheel Drive Association). I tried to find a club logo or sticker, but couldn’t locate any example.
Here’s the 1958 article (spliced for easier viewing):

“It’s time to sell my 1948 Willy’s CJ2a Jeep. Price is $14,000. Facebook won’t allow my price. I’ve owned this Jeep for about 4 years and have had a great time with it. It’s now time for someone else to enjoy.
I’ve driven this Jeep around many back roads of New Jersey sometimes putting upwards of about 150 to 200 miles on it in a weekend. It always starts and runs like a champ. Got into it in the middle of May after its long winters nap and after a couple of pumps on the accelerator pedal and a few seconds cranking the engine it sprang to life! It was restored when I purchased it but the former seller left it outside under a cover for about a year. Continue reading
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $11,000.

This appears to have a replacement body, as it’s a mix of M-38 and MB styles. Also, it shouldn’t have full-floaters (though I think there are a useful add).

“I have a 1946 Jeep willys for sale. As you can see from the pictures the front end it taken off since I pulled the motor that it came with and was going to replace it with a Buick 3.8. Frame is immaculate. Comes with a 3.8 turbo Buick. No rush to sell. Negotiable”

“Willys CJ-2A serial number puts it from 1946. Have a bunch of new parts to go with it and two original fenders that are in better condition than what were on it. Was running, Plan was to reseal engine and make it a military replica, but had a new kid, so projects all took a backseat. Rather have this go to someone who use it vs it sitting here for years till I can finish restoring it. Hood and fenders and radiator are off, where I was went I ran out of time. Pulled the head to inspect valves and cylinders, look great. No idea why the listing say automatic transmission, obviously a standard, but no option to change it. As for trades looking for quality bench top lathe and or milling machine. also on the lookout for 6′ brush hog for the tractor or a good wood splitter. or if you have a offer doesn’t hurt to ask. Will be on bill of sales, has old registration from previous owner when it was played in NH.”
UPDATE: Still Available.
(03/18/2021) Has an F-head.
