Dan from Langkau Automotive in Essen, Germany, contacted me. He’s got a variety of stainless steel parts he’s collected over the years during his wide-ranging travels, some from the Philippines, some NOS parts, and some parts he’s bought and restored. He even has some Jewels parts in their original packaging. He’s selling both parts and whole body kits.
The bodies he has are “made from very solid 2mm pure 304 Stainless Steel. Very high Quality.” He says he can ship world-wide.
If you are interested in any parts, contact him at kontakt @ langkau-automotive.de (remove the spaces around the “@” before emailing him).
This unusual build appeared in the November 1964 issue of Four Wheeler Magazine. The build has two radiators, built in-line. I figured you all would enjoy this oddity.
Ian spotted this nice looking jeep for sale in Nova Scotia. The pics show one light out, but it’s been fixed since then.

“After the windshield frame was smashed and the gas tank was removed this jeep was parked near a barn for 15 years. It was forgotten about and I believe deserves to be saved, so i brought it home. I chopped the wind shield down to a wind deflector and turned a beer keg from our local pub into the gas tank. After also adding a new battery, it started right up. After bleeding the breaks it also stops. Tail lights and blinkers work although the head lights are not working at this time. If I get a chance I will get them to work.
The tires are worn out but holding air. It runs well, stops ok, starts ok, but needs to be trailered. There is rust and bondo and at least 2 layers of paint over the military olive drab that is starting to show through. This jeep has the original engine with the overhead valve F head, transmission, military blackout lights, axles, spring over lift kit. Steering box, steering column, and shocks have been upgraded.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $12,000.

“For sale are 3 1959 Jeep FC170’s. All flatbed configuration. 2 vehicles are complete, the third is currently off frame as a restoration project. 2 titles are currently in hand, we are working on retrieving the third. Overall condition of the 3 is fair. Will need some TLC to get the 2 complete units to get running, they have been sitting for quite a few years. They were collected with the intension of full restorations, and as such, there are several new parts and additions available with the purchase of the vehicles. Figuring $9000 for the lot of parts and the 3 vehicles.”

“Drivetrain: Engine: 283, guessing 60s vintage. Trans: TH350, have 2 one is bad, one supposedly good. The trans is sitting in the Jeep and a crossmember is built. Xfer: D18, have two xfer and one Overdrive, OD is matched to at least one of them. Axle: Mid 70s Waggy Dana 44s. Front has high steer arms on it. Rear is offset Radiator: New universal Aluminum Body: Body is fair for a 48. CJ-2a winsheild Tube has been cut for bigger tires. Have the front fender, have seen better days. 6 point tube cage, no idea of material. Attic Aluminum top, most window broken or replaced with lexan. Frame: Frame was cut off at center of the front axle bump and replaced with 4” box tube. Ended up moving the engine forward (3” from previous mounting point) for more firewall clearance. Reverse shackle was added. Was going to use FJ40 axles so spring mounts are to narrow for the waggy D44. This is a PROJECT Located: Kennewick WA”

Just this one update today. Happy Father’s Day to all you father’s out there! Since all my kids are far from me, I’ll be spending the day working on the shop and maybe even working on the racer a little bit.
Speaking of father (or minister or pastor), yesterday I received my official documents from the Universal Life Church. I now have the rather dubious and dangerous authority to marry people. I’m bonafide!!
My wife’s son will be getting married in August and they asked me to officiate, so now I’m an official officiate. I get to check off another life experience 🙂
All good things must end and the FC Roundup is no exception. Sadly, Craig announced yesterday that Jesse and Andrea have decided to retire from hosting the Roundup.
The FC Roundup was always a super way (for us) to start the ‘jeep’ year. It was a great reason to head south for warmer environs. Always generous hosts, they always made us feel welcome, as did everyone who attended. Not only did we always have a great time down there, but we also used it as a springboard to travel east, west, north, and south.
So, to the Ybarra’s we say thanks for all your efforts over the years! We wish you the best in the future!
These pics are from 2013 (see many more pics from over the years at the FC Connection):
