1963? DJ-3A Surrey? Rising Fawn, Ga eBay
I’m not sure if this is actually a Surrey or not, but it’s definitely a 2 Wheel Drive DJ-3A.
“Up for bid is a Surrey Gala pink Willys Jeep. I do not know an exact year the Jeep was made (the year I put above was a guess). The Jeep was painted over but there is still lots of pink showing all over. The Jeep runs. Carburetor needs rebuilding it runs way to rich and leaks gas. The gas tank has rust in it and clogs up fuel filters. Column shifter is broken at top of shift handle. I have been shifting with vice grips, transmission shifts good and appears to have had been rebuilt, dope looks brand new and case has been cleaned to bare metal. Seat frames are very solid and springs seem in very good shape, steering wheel has some cracks in it. The windshield glass is broken and the windshield frame is very solid but it has some rust spots, the hood hinge was broken and somebody put screws in it. Bowl for air filter is missing. A hole for a radio was cut into dash. The body tub only has two holes rusted through, one on the right side at the body support above the fender step and the left side at top of wheelwell underneath a roll bar that was in it…. ”
1949 CJ-2A Longview, WA **SOLD**
This looks like a fun little CJ-2A. I wonder if the bars attached to the windshield from the roll bar are intented to support the windshield? It’s a good strategy to help reduce stress on the windshield.
“Bright yellow.12 volt conversion with new 1 wire alternator.rebuilt starter, all light including turn work great. Has stoway towbar that folds flat on front bumper.(NO TOP) new master and brake cylinders. Tires are larger radial on white spoke wheels(NO SPARE) New e-brake cable yet to be installed along with 4 leaf after market springs.”
1946 CJ-2A Medford, OR **SOLD**
This looks to be a good foundation for a great little trail jeep. Though this is a non-running project at this point, it does have a number of quality upgrades.
“46 willys,1962 buick 198 v-6 rebuild 1 hour run time,sm 420 trans,5:38 gears,dana 30 disk brake,dana 44.lots of new parts,16 gallon fuel cell,frame boxed,power steering and power brakes.rear brakes are 11 inch.needs a few things to drive this rig.”

1951 CJ-3A Davenport, Ia **SOLD**
This looks like a nice enough jeep that has been ‘restored’ nicely. However, the claim that this is all original except for tires and wheels is not true (12 volt system, fender flares, the rear lights, and I’m sure more).
“BODY OFF RESTORATION, 1951 CJ-3A. BOX, STOCK & BAREFOOT-EVERYTHING ON THIS JEEP EXCEPT THE HORN BUTTON & TIRES & WHEELS. 1942 Rock Crawler Marietta, GA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
It’s safe to say that you won’t see many rock crawlers with a slat grille. The louvered hood is unusual as well.
“1942 Ford GPW, built custom from frame up!!! Awesome head- turning JEEP toy!!! All the power of a hotrod and capability of a great rockcrawler. NO UNOBTAINIUM parts, all over the counter!!!

Wayback Machine: Old Jeeping Photos from late 70s
Here’s some great old photographs from the 1970s. They document some of the events attended by the Good Time Four Wheelers. The image below was from the 3rd Annual Green River Valley Jeepers in 1976. I attended one of their playdays in 1981 (I think). It was located between Black Diamond and Enumclaw; I wouldn’t be surprised if the area is full of homes now.
I’m suprised that as late as ’76 they weren’t requiring cages to race. It wouldn’t be too long before they were required. View all the pics (lots of desert dogs) at the pnw4wda forum.
1951 CJ-3A Osburn, Id **SOLD**
UPDATE: Purchased by an ewillys reader. He notes it’s in great shape and was a good price. It’s now home in Montana.
This looks like it could be a good price to me.
“1951 Willys jeep CJ3. Runs. 4 wheel drive. Has a 6 ft. plow. Original motor. Has rear seat, chains for all 4, transfer case and transmission with gears. Spare motor parts and assorted brake parts. Other misc. parts. Little rust under doors where step used to be. A classic in it own right. “
1959 DJ-3A Surrey Albion, NY **SOLD**
Here’s an unusual find. I can’t quite tell how good of condition it is in. It sure looks like it is hidden in some kind of tall barn?
“This is a real Gala 1959 flatfender, VERY RARE this one still has a few places you can see the HOT PINK factory paint! tail gate DELETE body, have winshield frame +glass mint! Have Reg., frame is sand blasted in DP-40 no drive train, I got rid of it 25 yrs ago,$3000.00”
1954 CJ-3B Felton, Pa **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
“This is a 1954 Willy’s Jeep CJ-3B, that’s been lifted, v-8ed and customized. This thing starts and runs great and is great fun to drive! The motor and transmission are Chevy 350/350, and both work great. The duals sound great without being obnoxious. It has power steering, and brakes, and the heater’s hooked up. I’m no jeep expert, but the remainder of the drivetrain appears fairly original equipment to me, other than obviously it was lifted. This Jeep sports 35″/12.50″/15″ radial tires and aluminum wheels, both in excellent shape. ”
1958 Wagon Iowa $6500
This looks like a wagon out of an old photograph. I don’t know whether this price will hold, but this looks like it would be a great restoration project that wouldn’t need much work.
“Pulled out of a barn in Iowa. Excellent condition for its age. Runs and looks very good. Has 327 motor (not original). Exterior and interior in above average shape. Interested? Call Ru at 319-651-6758 for details”

1949 CJ-3A Illinois $8000
A reader named Mike is selling this CJ-3A. There have been a variety of updates to it and you can see Mike has invested some time maintaining and update this jeep.
