UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3800
“New Motor,”
This looks like a very good deal considering the quality of trailer.
“1959 Model CJ-3B running hunting jeep with custom trailer and winch; new jeep tires and spare; heavy roll bar with horizontal gun racks; body is in good condition and jeep runs; custom trailer is tandem axle with ramps, spare battery pocket and lights; original hurricane engine with electric fuel pump added”
“1951 Willys Jeep for sale. Semi restored Willys jeep. This is a hard to find Jeep. Newly painted Battleship Grey and undercoated. new gas tank, gauges, wiring, windsheild, body is in great shape. Not a bad price for a running DJ-3A.
“1957 willys jeep runs good needs work on brakes an steering an lights to be road worthy 4×4 works good also 704 450 1693”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1400.
I think new paint would help this VEC tremendously. The seller claims to have all the column shift parts.
“1946 willys cj2a jeep, serial number 25786, engine number 26797 (4cyl) original. This jeep starts and runs but is not an everyday driver. The 4 wheel drive works in high and low. The jeep blows a little smoke and needs some brake work. The fenders, hood and frame are in good shape with no rust through that I can see and very little surface rust. If you were going to restore the jeep you would probably have to get a new tub. The tub it has now has rust through in the floor and is very rough. I have lots of extra parts that will go with the jeep, this includes: A NEW WIRING HARNESS (IN THE BOX), TRANSMISSIONS AND TRANSFER CASES, GASKETS, AND A NEW MASTER CYLINDER. (there are more parts that I am not going to list) This jeep has a very low serial number and was originally a column shifter. It was converted to a floor shifter but I think that I have all of the parts to change it back.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2000
The seller lists both 1951 and 1952 as the years of this jeep.
“1951 willys m38 original with windshield, missing radiator, fan, batteries, stored last 8 years in my shop since early 80’s in a barn, never restored,no money need cash but wont give last flat fender”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1100.
This looks like a good price to me.
“NICE JEEP, NEEDS SOME THINGS TO GET STREET LEAGAL. TITLE IN HAND, FIRES UP WITH NO HESATATION. I DO HAVE THE STOCK WHEELS WITH TIRES, AND A ROLLBAR THAT WAS JUST POWDER COATED AND HAVE NOT YET RE-INSTALED……………. MUST SELL………..”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1800.
This looks like a great price. Extra’s include front disc brakes and lockers.
“if you’ve been looking for a fun and unique summer toy, or for a great little trail jeep, then this just might be what you’ve been waiting for. i bought this for 4-wheeling, but also to take to work on nice days and to take my girlfriend out to ice cream, and it quickly turned into a not-so-secret love affair that she was not all that happy about, but tolerated it anyway. the frame is in great shape, and the body is in pretty good shape, considering its a 62 year old New England vehicle….”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500
“1947 cj2a runs good, brakes gone through, electrical re-wired 12volt and ungraded to fuse box, new guages ,turn signals-lights-brake lights all work.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $1300
There’s some odd points in the body on the passenger side and I can’t tell if that’s the lighting, rust, or paint. This doesn’t run.
“I have a 1952 Willys Jeep for sale. It has the original flathead 4 cylinder motor in it. It is 4 wheel drive. Comes with the half cab and doors. Would make a great project! Does not run. Asking $1400 Please contact Matt with BMB Auto Sales at 573-424-3144 for more information, Thanks.”
“I bought the car in 1998, and I spent six years restoring it down to the frame. I have most, if not all receipts, amounting to roughly $28,000 investment, but truthfully it was as much a hobby project as it was a toy after the fact. A few years ago I was offered 30k for it, but I just couldn’t part with it at the time. I don’t drive it much. It stays garaged except for the weekly ’round the block drive. It had an early 60’s 265 cid, I replaced it with a 1972 327cid – 350 HP motor (from a corvette) overhauled by Greulich of Scottsdale (builder of professional grade racing engines.. several have powered winning racing machines at Firebird Raceway and elsewhere)….”
Here’s a clean, good looking cj-2a.
“1948 Jeep CJ2A Completely restored. Must See! Call Brett at 414-762-7773
Also for sale Bantam T-3C Civilian Jeep Trailer and other Willys Parts.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $350. I doubt this was ever a Gala, but it does seem to be a DJ-3A. **SOLD**
The price is right! This seems like a deal to me.
“We our selling a 1960 Willys DJ-3A Surrey Gala. We bought it mainly for the body to build a rock crawler out of it. The origional color was pink. It has a CJ-2A windshield on it with an old Aluminum Hardtop (rare). This is a normal left hand drive 2wd Willys Jeep. The front axle is a straight axle and rides on leaf springs just like the 4wd Jeeps. It has a motor, but is missing many of the parts like the oil pan, head, etc. It is the Go devil Flathead 4 backed by a 3spd manual column shift trans with OverDrive. Since this is a DJ3A the rear of the Jeep is solid with no tail gate, this is factory. It does have all of the steering pieces and as a whole is pretty darn complete. Feel free to come check it out and make us an offer. The frame is in very good shape and the tub would easily be restorable. The floors are even in pretty good shape. The hood is probably the worst part (dented). These are very rare and it has all of its factory serial data plates. Comes with only a bill of sale.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3700.
The seller notes, “I swapped in a good running L134 and generally cleaned everything up. runs great now and is still for sale.”
“1947 Willys CJ2A, all electrical works aside from wiper motor. Has good seats front and rear, roll cage,12 volt sys, front mounted steering box,2 gas tanks,5 new tires on white spokes, tow bar,GM tilt steering. This Jeep was from AZ, so there’s very little rust and no dents. I just installed a recently rebuilt L head engine and this truck runs great.”
UPDATE: A reader noted that this has already sold
It is very rare to see one of these in such poor condition.
“Elvis owned one. 1960 Pink surrey gala jeep. Condition restorable original parts. Bought in May 1978. odometer reading 20,000. Engines apart but complete. $3,ooo or best offer.”
This might be a good price. The body appears in good condition.
“1948 Willy’s Jeep for Sale, The originator of the SUV/4 Wheeler Craze….all original. Flathead 4, fold down windshield-good glass, tail gate, removable tow bar, 6 volt electrical system-needs battery. Stored inside for several years. This could be the “look what I found in this guys garage” discovery of a life time. Needs some work, mostly TLC, will deliever if in the Salt Lake area”
This looks mostly stock.
“All original Willys Civilian model Jeep, Motor just like it was in 1948, Runs and drives great, is tagged and insured with current Oklahoma Title, Has new NDT tires, fuel tank, brakes, and water pump. Own a piece of American History, turns heads everytime I drive it. Selling due to running out of room for my toys, Wife’s tired of parking in the rain. I have 2 Willys and an M37, need to sell at least one. Call or text Shawn at 479-238-3643 or home # 918-326-4397. email response is slower as I am a slow internet person.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3250.
This might not be a bad price if the body is in very good shape.
“Pictured below is a 1944 Willys MB Military Jeep. It has what I believe to be is the original T84 transmission and Spicer 18 transfer case. The engine is not the original L head. Someone has replaced the original engine with a Willys F head. The windshield frame is from a M38. Overall the vehicle is in pretty good shape for its age. It runs and drives really well. I received this vehicle as payment for a debt. I’m looking to get $3,250 or best offer. Cash only please.”
It’s hard to believe it runs. It’s a parts jeep.
“This is a 1948 WILLYS Jeep that runs, she smokes but she runs, good for parts as she shifts and I have the original Michigan title that matches the plate on the firewall…body is bad and jeep is for sale for parts only, needs to be trailered as tires are also poor… 920-856-6539 or neuby47@hotmail.com”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000
This CJ-3B includes an overdrive. This might be a pretty good price given the work that has been done.
“Rebuilt engine, transmission and transfer case along with new clutch and resurfaced flywheel ~1000 miles. Rebuilt Overdrive unit, less than 100 miles. The engine was sleeved back to standard and compression measures at high specification (125psi). It has an electronic ignition and a high torque starter. Three point harness on front seats and a rear seat (not mounted) to go with it. Full roll cage. Upgraded brakes, 11″ drums front and rear as well as dual reservoir master cylinder. Runs great and has a 12v electrical system.”
I like this CJ-6.
“1965 Jeep Willys CJ6, 4 Wheel Drive, 3 Speed on the floor with additional Over-Drive Gear, 134 Overhead Valve, 4 Cylinder Engine, 3 Inch Lift with Big 32X12.50R15 Off Road Tires, New Paint, No Rust, Body and Frame in Great Condition, Full Roll Bar, Runs Strong, California Original and now with Florida Title. Rare Find and a Real “Head Turner”. For Show or Fun. Come See it! $8,900 Serious Inquires Only.”
A reader asked about finding chromed lug nuts that had right and left hand threaded types.
I responded with this information:
“I got my lug nuts from my local schucks store. They carry the Mr Lugnut brand. I needed to get some special ones due to the thickness of my cast aluminum rims. However, I only needed right handed threads and not lefty’s. http://www.mr-lugnut.com/
Here’s a page that might be helpful too http://www.discountjeepparts.com/index.php/cPath/1714_302 It appears they have both right and left hand threaded chrome bolts that will cover the whole stud. Another thought (which doesn’t sound like much fun) is to knock out the left hand threaded studs and just go with right handed ones all around?”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2800.
A reader named Terry alerted me to this sale.
“1946 Willys CJ2A Jeep Serial Number 56566
I am selling this Jeep because I am ill with a progressing brain disease and there is more work to be done on this Jeep than I expected. Transmission is inoperable, locked in neutral, and needs replacement or rebuilding. Steering gear needs work. Engine is perfection, runs like a dream. I originally purchased it with the idea that it would take the place of my Ural, so I could continue going out sight-seeing and exploring. … The Jeep’s original flathead, four-cylinder engine (engine #103462) has less than 300 miles on it since being completely rebuilt.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5500.
This looks more like a M-38 to me, but I can’t tell conclusively.
“1952 Jeep CJ3A. This jeep has a 1955 F head engine instead of the original flat head engine. I have lots of extra parts I bought at a military auction many years ago. I have a soft top for it. This Jeep has NO rust and ran great last time I went hunting in it which was 1994. it has been stored inside ever since. Even the interior is good. I put in a new gas tank with non corrosive liner. It needs a battery and most likely will need a carburetor rebuild from sitting so long and will have years of trouble free hunting or whatever. It’s not fast (max 50 mph) but it will climb a tree.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3000
It looks like this was an old school trail jeep that someone was modifying into a rock crawler.
“1942 Ford G.P.W project lifted on chevy full length 8 lug 3/4 ton running gear sittin on 35″ tsl swampers over half tread with a chevrolet 350 under the hood runs great needs drive lines built and some welding done been on Oregon creek and trail runs at least 5 times and rubicon once by previous owner will fit 44″ tires no problem has huge p.t.o”
