Bill shared this odd story of a jeep owner getting a ticket. The comments are odd/amusing, too. The writer claimed the jeep is a WWII jeep, but it looks like an M-38.

“Available for you to consider is a 1967 Kaiser Jeep 4×4 6cyl w/3spd manual 3 on the tree. This vehicle has been stored away indoors for years. Engine spins freely and will run you will need a radiator , carb rebuilt, 2) 12 v batteries (24volt system) most likely clean up brakes and will need fuel system flushed with new fuel. This is a very rare unique vehicle. This Jeep was used in Vietnam for Audio Visual. This Jeep is out of Fort Knox. I really know nothing of this particular history of actual usage and very little information to be found on the web.
I understand it was a very low production vehicle with very few left inexistence. What I do know it is a great conversation piece. It really grabs attention. Check underneath pics. Floors, frame all very solid. Floorboards all solid, rust free….The patina is awesome. Has not been touched since back in the day….Rear barn doors… Seat in great shape as well as dash. Just a unique vehicle..”

This jeep toy appears at around the 4:30 mark of the video at the bottom of the post. Anyone know what company produced this toy jeep?
UPDATE: I got things turned around and mounted the headers. I also got the sliding door done correctly, the first time :-). I think I measured about 17 times, lol.

As mentioned, I’ve been working on trim for our master bedroom. Ann wanted a Craftsman look to the trim, so I put together this look to the header, constructed out of four pieces, two of which require the table saw and planer to meet the right specs (I love having the wood working equipment at the ready!!). The first iteration of this turned out great on Wednesday.
Still needing to finish two other doors, both 36″ wide (closet was only 29″ wide), I decided to do both headers at the same time on Thursday. I measured. I remeasured. I cut. I painted. Everything seemed to be assembling fine. But, somehow, I wrote down the wrong initial measurement, one inch too narrow, which led to this foul up (albeit, much stronger language was used when I set the header atop the boards in this photo!
Yep, I was exactly one inch short! *%@*@!! So, I spent Friday rebuilding another set of headers exactly one inch wider, lol …
On the bright side, it turns out, after walking through the house measuring doorways, that we have two different doors in the future tv/office that have 35″ doorways, so the now-extra headers will work perfectly in there … whew!

This is a well running classic! Engine runs great, body is in good condition. I was planning to fully rebuild, but decided to work on other projects. Upgrades already include full custom roll bar assembly ($800) consistent with original dimensions, canvas cover ($750), and original front Koenig TPO winch which is extremely sought after for these vehicles!!! Good tires. Newer exhaust and muffler. A radiator with fan switch has been added so it can safely operate in the Nevada heat. In July 2021, replaced the battery, fuel filter, ignition coil and fuel pump and have receipt ($750). Has a 6 cylinder engine that was a popular replacement engine for this Willys. Have paperwork on what work has been done by the previous owners over the years. Also have a number of new gasket and seal kits that I purchased from KaiserWillys, but have not had a chance to install. These are all included. Clean title in hand. $7,200. Please no low ball offers. Vehicle is in Las Vegas”

Updates continue to dribble out, so sorry about that.
We are still working steadily on the master bedroom. I am hoping to be finished with the trim by Saturday, but little things keep delaying us (ex: Ann got a flat tire two days ago, which caused me to use up half-a-day getting it changed and fixed). Once that is done, we can redo the TV/study room (which is currently our bedroom). I hope to get all of the phase one interior changes done by the end of Feb. Phase II will be the remodel of the master bathroom (this summer or fall?). Phase III will be a major remodel of the common rooms of the house, but that is probably a year+ away.
I am also busy documenting the various issues with my sister vis-a-vis mom’s estate in case my sister goes through with her recent threat to sue the estate. The crux of the issue is that my sister doesn’t believe the horses, which she inherits and which my parents bought and owned (and she rode, trained and cared for), have any value to the estate and that she should be gifted them free and clear of the estate distributions. Given my parents put six figures into the horses over two decades, and the fact they own them 100%, the horses do indeed have value to the estate and, thus, part of my sister’s inheritance should include some value placed on the horses. Since she knows this means she will get less cash from the estate, she believes this unfair and is very upset about it (even though the current plan is to give her the horses at half the market value to recognize her contribution to their value, but she refuses to have any conversation about this). Ugh!
We are still awaiting a date for Ann’s semi-emergency gallbladder surgery, but our local hospitals are very busy with COVID patients, so we aren’t sure when she can get in. At this pace, it will likely be an emergency procedure at some point!
Perhaps the best news of the year is that I have the shop heater running … oh boy, does it warm up the shop quickly!!!

Nate got out his camera and his track-enabled CJ-5 named Snowshoe to see how it would do in the snow. He’s suitably impressed.
Bill shared this TWO-HOUR video of a 1949 Jeepster rescue. I haven’t had time to review it all, but it looks like in pretty good condition and will make a good restore or drive-as-is project.
