“I have two (2) Jeep CJ 2A’s for sale. Here’s the story: I saved one (no title) from the shredder that had a complete chassis but the body had been ruined beyond repair, so I cut it off. I got that chassis running until I could find a body for it – which I found in the form of a complete Jeep that had the motor out and was missing the transmission. I thus dropped the running motor/tranny/transfer case from the chassis into the more complete Jeep.
So what you get is a 1946 CJ-2A (Montana titled) that runs and I have driven around the block, but no further. Why? Basically because I have done nothing to the brakes and don’t have a radiator (but I know a man who has). The Jeep just has a crude hotwiring system to make the motor run. You will have to attend to the brakes, lights, gauges (missing), greasing stuff up, etc. I can demonstrate that the motor is good and that the Jeep runs and drives and that 4wd works, but it will of course require some more work to make it ready to use for fun. It is missing its tailgate, but there is a bent one that you get that is green and could be straightened out to work. I am trying to get the house/garage where the Jeeps are rented and need to sell them.
On the plus side, the orange Jeep has a nice solid body, complete windshield, gas tank, decent paint (orange), tow bar (1 7/8 in ball) and is generally very clean.
You also will get:
– a complete metal half-cab with doors
– an extra motor and exhaust system
– an extra transfer case and complete clutch
– two sets of wheels, one with good newer radial tires and one with older bias ply’s
– an extra chassis with axels
– extra grill/bent but usable hood and tailgate/bent but repairable gas tank/brake hardware/misc
This shouldn’t be a difficult project, and for example with the brakes, between the two Jeeps you should be able to make up one good set of every part (shoes/drums/etc). If you wanted to sell the extra parts off or make a second complete Jeep you could essentially get one for almost free.”
I can’t tell this is a CJ-3B for sure. It sounds like a project.
“It is 4 wheel drive. The engine is in good shape though not operational-needs battery and ignition up-date. Needs 4 tires and transmission work. Good vehicle for hobbyist.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
Here’s an unusual flattie.
“1947 Willys Jeep body mounted on a Chevy S-10 2wd chassis. Front power disc brakes. Chevy 383 stroker motor with roller rockers and forged domed pistons. Turbo 350 trans. Runs and drives great. “set of 4 complete with wheels. 31-15.5-15 817-228-3980″
Nice looking 5 x 51/2 Hurricane Rims, though the price seems a bit crazy. The lettering on the tire looks like it has been sprayed blue?

Bruce forwarded me these unusual and rare posts cards of some unusual Surreys (here’s a compilation of Surrey & DJ info). Bruce has attempted to contact the Las Brisas Manager to learn if they have a historian of sorts for their jeeps in use, but he hasn’t had any luck. If anyone has any Las Brisas connections, please let me know! Thanks for sharing Bruce.
Check out the guy driving the jeep, a stick no less, carrying a tray of food!
Brian writes, “These 2 jeeps offer clues but also leaves one with more questions. The extended tub, tailgate, baby moon hubcaps, valance panels, and an absence of chrome bumpers. Also, there was no date stamp on the card, but it looks to be from the late/early 50-60s.
On the back of the postcard, written in both English and Spanish, it reads Room service by jeeps- unique at hotel Las Brisas in Acapulco where every room a has it’s own pool.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. It’s a rare DJ-6.
The DJ-6 model was built from 1965 to 1973 according to some sources and 1965 to 1968 according to others. The most expensive DJ-6 was $1,818 according to All-Par.
“Up for auction is this nice old Willys DJ6 Jeep. I bought this from a collector in KC MO and he had it for over 25 years stored in his building. I understand that this is a hard Willys model to find. It was bought new by Merrit Dairy and used to sell Ice Cream out of. The Delight Company bought it and made it into the Ice Cream Jeep by adding the top which unbolts and makes it into a normal DJ6, their brass tag is rivited to the firewall as seen in pictures . The body is nearly rust free as it was never used in winter months. The floor panels and fender wells are in very good condition. There are some dings in the fenders and dents here and there but are very solid. The engine is the 4 banger and has a 3 speed manual tranny. I believe these are orignial miles as it runs and operates very smooth. No blow-by on engine. This will make a great restoration project as the basics are very complete and solid.”

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $8500.
Here’s an aluminum flattie body on a modified Ford Bronco chassis. As I mentioned in a post last week, the vented hoods are very rare. I’m not sure if that’s aluminum or steel.
“Unique aluminum bodied CJ2 Jeep. This is a professionally built for off road, but very streetable CJ2. It is a real eye catcher. It features a highly modified 1974 Bronco chassis with 4 wheel disc brakes, dual master cylinders, urethane bushings, power steering, trans. cooler, power steering cooler, etc. It sits on, like new, 35X10X15 Goodyears. Power is supplied by a fresh 351w ford with edelbroch manifold and newly rebulit edelbrock 4 barrel, connected to a modified c-4 trans.and headers. It is an older construction, but is done right! I prefer cash, but will consider a trade for a nice cj or wrangler or ? and cash. ”
Here’s a parts Jeep.

(11/11/2009) This would rock at a drive in movie!
“1951 Willys complete engine overhaul just finished. This Willy runs like its new. Its a 3 speed 4X4 with high and low diff. I converted it to a hunting rig 2 years ago and used it for one hunting season. It has been stored for the last year and a half until I decided to sell it. A total engine overhaul was completed last week and it runs great. It has new heavy duty shocks, new springs with extra leafs to support the high rack and the tires are in great shape as well as the spare.. My dad and I built the high rack and installed some really comfortable pickup seats up top. There is a power port up top for a spotlight. It has a tow bar and is wired with a harness for lights while towing. This is a great vehicle for hunting. It can be picked up in Ft Worth Texas. Cash only”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
Based on the price, it might be worth a look, though it appears to have an updated engine.
“1942 Ford GPW jeep 4 x 4, great for hunting lease or to restore! Engine is good-chevy two. Needs new or rebuild transmission and transfer case. Needs a little TLC, but a really nice project.”
