So, technically this isn’t a Jeep, but it is kinda of SEEP-like and the folks over at Jalopnik called it a Jeep, so I figured I’d post a couple pics of it. Also, I checked out the website www.boatcar.net and that site has several different SEEP-like vehicles.

1946 CJ-2A Kirkland, WA **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $15,500
Technically, the first year of production on civilian jeeps was 1945. This CJ sounds like it has an interesting history.
“This is the Original Grand Daddy of all Civilian Jeeps- the Willy’s CJ2a is the first model year of the post WWII civilian market run. This is a very rare collector’s item. This is unit # 70007. She is in excellent shape. This one was kept in a Detroit Show Room for over 25 years prior to being in storage for 10 years. When the dealer passed away his estate sold off all assets and that is how we found her, 5 years ago. We have the original Magazine Adds from Time Magazine, July 15, 1946.”
Nate has some ideas to share
As part of his CJ-3A restoration Nate left his unique mark on his build with a variety of creative solutions. You’ll enjoy these.
1. “I mounted my body with hockey pucks and valve springs. I did this to my offroad beater too, and they seem to work quite well.”
2. “I made some doors on my harrison heater to get some more heat to the driver’s side.”
3. “I made a removable jerry can holder that bolts to the rear draw bar. This works really well. I carry about 3 gallons in it, and haven’t had any problems.”
4. “To put turn signals in the 3A grille, I made 8 of these spacers (4 per side) to space out the lens to fit the bigger bulb.”
5. “Instead of having a switch on the dash to turn the reverse light on, I made this bracket with a push switch (one that doesn’t click and locks in the “on” position) to turn it on. The plunger is what activates it. This is a really handy mod.”
Fish and Chips 2010
It is winter time and that means only one thing: time for the Wandering Willys Jeep Club to complete their annual Winter run over the Naches Trail in search of Fish & Chips (You might remember their 2009 trip report here). The restaurant of choice was a local favorite called Gold Creek Station Restaurant.
I’ve snagged a few pics from their website. You can see pics of the entire trip here.
Of course, you gotta have the initial line up …

1947 CJ-3B Eagle, ID **SOLD**
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
I check out this jeep today, though didn’t drive it. This is an interesting build. It appears to have a boxed-in CJ-5 frame and gas tank, with out-boarded rear springs. The front springs appear stock. This has both power brakes and power steering, with the power steering unit nicely installed (in other words, someone knew what they were doing). The grill has a thin strip added to is so it could be extended forwards about 2 inches, though not one my favorite mods, it was done neatly. The tines have been removed from the Grille and the radiator is right up against it.
I think the body is actually the front of the one body and the back of another body, which explains the seam in the side. The hat channels appear in good shape. The side steps have been cut a little as part of the joining process, however, I think a buyer could put some diamond plating side pieces that will nicely hide all that. The dash sports the single later model CJ-3B speedometer. The body has been lifted about 1-2″ off the frame.
This has a single lever transfercase with the turbo tranny. It also has a Pontiac(?) center console of some kind. The top looks to be in good condition. This has a roll bar, though the tube might be 3″ tubing. The jeep has mud guards on the driver’s side, but are missing them on the passenger side.
With some body work, this would probably be a good runner. So, 1947 is as accurate as any other year for this build.
This looks like a good price. If you want me to look at it, let me know.”
