Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Dexter found another MB deal, but this item was installed on the steering column. Anyone know what it is? It looks to be a hydraulic unit, but not sure why it says “not for parking”?

Was a 6 volt, upgraded to 12 volt. All new wiring, brakes, steering, clutch, transmission, gas tank, canvas seats and frames.
I have all receipts and used parts, some new parts not installed yet.
Needs some carburetor work and tires. Jeep is registered as collector vehicle with a clear title.

“I have a Willys CJ-2A Jeep for sale or trade. It runs and drives, but could use a tune up. It has an AMC 360 ci V8, T-18 granny 4-speed, Dana 20 T-case, Dana 44 30-spline rear axle, Dana 30 open-knuckle front axle with matching 3.73 gears, and 31×10.50 tires on chrome wagon wheels. Gauges work, tilt steering column, power steering, seats are aftermarket baja style racing buckets. Needs gas tank installed, has one rigged so you can hear it run. Many parts can be thrown in for the right amount of money. I’m asking $1750 NEGOTIABLE or TRADE for??? I like vintage cars or trucks (Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Chevy, Olds, Pontiac, Buick, GMC, Dodge, Chrysler, Plymouth, or???) or other Jeeps, or anything, any year. Now that Chet has finished his CJ-3B restoration, it seems he now has time to launch his movie career! He hadn’t planned on creating an ‘agent theme’, that emerged during editing.
Chet writes, “I made a “hokey” you tube clip last week and used the term “biscuit fender” that I learned about 10 years ago on the 3B forum…. Also in the intro I used the term “Horse Face”, as this is an affectionate way the people of Brazil refer to their 3B’s.”

“The Willys has a Ford 302, Auto, Dana 20, stock diffs (25 front and rear posi) runs great, but it’s never been off road. I have a good windshield, but for extra $$. It needs body work on two spots; next to drivers door and passenger side battery well (rust), metal flat bed with storage boxes. I also have a 9′ bed that goes with sale”

This came off of a farm in Iowa where it was used as a farm vehicle off road for the past ten years. Goes anywhere, great off road vehicle.
Engine is a V-8 Chevy 283 Cu.In., 12 volt system, SEARS brand locking front hubs, 3 speed transmission, 4 speed transfer case(4high 2high N 2low 4low), 5.38 stock gears, 4 wheel drive works great, good tires 31×10.50x15R.
Body is fair, front fender damage. Floor is fair, has some see through areas but fixable.
Removable windshield included, will need glass replaced. Upholstery damaged, original steering very loose, speedometer is broke. Mileage unknown reads 65085, has excellent custom made heater. No top. Rear lights replaced in November 2010. Headlights replaced December 2010.
Not too many of these running around. Possible restoration candidate, suitable for hunting, ranch, farm or possible rock crawler build!

“i am selling my willys jeep i injured my knee at work so i cant hardley drive her anymore. It has a brand new set of bridgestone 31×10.50r15 tires on her and a spare so five tires all together. the four wheel drive works good and so does all the gears. It is a work in progress the body thats on it is shot but i have another tub that is in good shape. also have spare front fenders hood and grill. The brakes are not working at this time.”

(04/07/2010) This body appears to be a CJ-2A or 3A. The grille is an MB. This appears to have some customizations, including a rear tank of some type.

(12/15/2010) Looks nice. Strangely, this doesn’t have a tailgate or a fuel inlet, but it does appear to have drain holes at the step. So, I’m not sure what this body is.
