Sadly, Keith filed a post-tornado special report today. He noted that while he, his wife Patsy and their son survived the storm as it blew through Chattanooga, his truck wasn’t so lucky. To make matters worse, he was just about to install a new starter and get it running, but until he completed that fix he kept it uninsured. So, place your antenna flag at half mast and wish Keith and his family well.
I ran across these images today of a rusted CJ-2A. The photos were taken in 2008 by Dave Scottin Heathcote, Ontario, Canada, and posted on Flickr. Check out the governer throttle along with the 3 datatplates. I think this sitting in a junkyard or in an area with other rusted vehicles. If you scroll over the map on Flickr, you can see exactly where it is. I think there might even be some useful parts on this, too. Given the governor throttle, I wondered if it might have a rear PTO (Click on the 3rd photo and I think you will see the top of a cutoff PTO lever). You can even almost make out the serial number on the data plate (click on image 2).
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $400
“I’m cleanIing out my shop and came across some neat old Willys Jeep sales and service signs my grandfather had many years ago…… there 25″ wide x 27″ high and both are double sided. Unfortunitly, they were outside and are in rough shape, but neither are dented, misformed, or have any holes in them. Just rusted in spots and faded. I also have 25 parts drawers full of new Willys Jeep parts. Mostly small stuff…… gaskets, seals, bushings, springs, etc….even seen a package a new piston rings.and most are still in the original Willys part package.
Asking $400.00 for everything….or. best offer takes it, and I’d be happy to sell somethings seperate too. Whatever works best.”
UPDATE: Was listed at $4000. ***SOLD***

“Very early model CJ-5 Willys Jeep with F-head 4 cylinder engine,
3 speed trans, hi-lo transfer case and hydraulic lift
Blackhawk brand snow plow. Do have the tail gate.
Engine starts and runs and has oil pressure.
Previous owner said he drove the unit last year.
Odometer shows some 25,000 miles which may be correct,
since this unit was used only to plow snow.
Yes, rusty sheet metal but frame is good.
Has an IL title.
Has a Koenig steel half cab with doors.
Incorrect bucket seats

Here’s a possible buyer for a CJ-3B.
“I want a very good CJ3B (or M606) “High Hood” Jeep with the 4 cylinder overhead valve motor. Close to original condition preferred. Should be mechanically sound, but all will be considered. I have cash, but also have trade items.
Below is a picture of the perfect example of what I am looking for. John 417 622 8548″

“This willys is titled as a 1943. IT IS BY NO MEANS AN ORIGINAL MILITARY JEEP. Jeep is solid all the way around. Runs good, has no mechanical problems, except for small leak in the right header at the collector, has current inspection till 8/11, and a clear title. Engine is a 1967 odd-fire V6 (Dauntless V6) with a 4 barrel holley carb, has all aluminum heavy duty radiator, trans is a T86 newly rebuilt by a professional trans shop. Has a borg-warner All Range Overdrive unit. New clutch as of june 2010. rear is Dana 44 out of a CJ5 with 11 inch drum brakes, Front rear is a Dana 30 out of the same CJ5 with disc brakes and lock out hubs. The front is about 2 inches wider than the rear due to the disc brakes. You could run spacers in the back to even everything up, I chose not to, simply because I don’t care for them. Has new rancho leaf springs that provide a 1 inch lift. Tires are 33×12.50×15 Dunlop Mud Rovers with less than 1000 miles on them, on 15×10 wagon wheels. Willys also has power steering, heater, defroster and Sun Tach. The top on the willys is just the old top that I got when I bought it. I have sewn new window plastic in the drivers, passengers, and rear windows, due to the yellowing with age. I have more plastic that I will give along with the willys. (remind me of it) there is also a bikini top for the willys. Has racing seats with 5 point harnesses in the front, and a small bench seat with 4 point harnesses in the rear. The willys is by no means a speed demon, I do not recommend taking it on the interstate highways, but crusing around town up to 50 miles an hour it a great ride. Will Trade for running driving 67, or 68 mercury cougar”
Update: Price dropped to $900
(04/06/2011) Looks like a good price.

(03/29/2011) I hadn’t seen a Texas Hunting Jeep in a while. This might be a lefty, too.
“1948 Willys Army Hunting Jeep, 327 4 bolt main Chevy engine, Running gear good, Body little rough, Rear hunting deck with working spot lights, working 4 wheel drive $2,000. Call 325-232-2988”
The MacArthur Museum of Arkansas Military History in Little Rock, Ar, only exhibits one jeep (shown below), but they do have a variety of WWII Jeep photos in their archive, many of which include captions. Here are 8 of them. The photos are part of the Allison Collection of World War II Photographs, the captions of which come from the ACME wire service.
According to the Museum’s website, “James Allison, a sports writer working for the Houston Press, noticed that many photographs not printed in the daily newspaper were routinely discarded. He received permission to save these images, and by war’s end he had amassed a collection of more than 4,600 photographs. In August 1977, Allison donated his collection to the Arkansas Museum of Science and History”.
Craig shared this unusual FC with me. If you missed this featured FC at theFCConnection, click on the image below to see and learn a little more about this custom FC-170 Power Hoe.
This looks like a nice truck.
“$1850 obo
1952 Willys Pickup Truck
Clear Title
Buick v6 Engine
Rebuilt Wagner Carb
manual trans
4×4 high low levers
New Uninstalled Parts:
Master cylinder
Windshield glass
Windshield weather stripping
Chrome hood emblem
This truck runs and drives but does not stop as it needs the included master cylinder installed. The paint job is a ten footer but looks good for a mountain rig. Front hood latches need to be mounted in order to latch the front of the hood down. Front drive shaft is not currently hooked up but is included (this is how he got it and he never desired to put it back in). Dash has been modified with different gauges and a radio. Wheels and tires are good. Currently running off of exterior gas tank (not included)
I would consider this a rat rod. I say this in that it could be legally on the road with a weekend’s work and could then be driven as is or you could continue to drive it as you work on it more. Please do not expect a rig that will win any shows for paint or one that will not need tinkering.
