“This jeep has been in my family since 1982. My grandfather did a ground up restore in 1987. He and I used it to for hunting in NY. I had it shiped down here from NY two years ago in hopes to restore it to 1987 condition again. But I don’t see that happening any time soon. I hate to sell it but i guess its just the sign of the times. I have done my research online and know alot about this jeep and know their value. The jeep needs some body work. It runs good. Its been sitting for over 15 years and all I did was put a electric fuel pump on it a battery, new plugs and wires..It took a few mins but it started right up and ran just like it did 20 years ago. I drove it around the farm a few time with the kids and parked it behind my shop where it has sat now for two years. The interior is in good shape but needs a drivers seat.I have the seat but it has a bad rip in it so i took it out the passengers seat is in good condition. I have removed the gas tank due to the 20+ year old gas that was in the tank (and it still ran with that gas in it). I was planing on installing a ploy tank but never did. The jeep also needs a brake job. I do have a new master cylinder for it that also needs to be installed. The motor is a flat head 4, with a foot button starter that still works good. All gages are still in place and all work but the speedo. The hearter even still blows. And the head lights still work ..I did put a new tire when i got the jeep due to the dry rot..the other tires are still somewhat ok… If your are SERIOUS about this jeep , email me and I will send you more detailed pics of it cause i can only put so many on here..”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $12,900

Readers will remember that at age 17, Nate finished his first flat fender build, a 1953 CJ-3A. Not content to spend 2011 driving his jeep, Nate emailed me today sharing with me that he spent the past year building a second jeep with a custom suspension. He’s been sharing his project with the folks over at earlycj5 site and has a variety of pictures that show build from start to finish. Well done again Nate! (Some readers might also remember Nate’s ideas)
I only posted one pic below. Here are all the pictures: http://www.earlycj5.com/forums/showthread.php?88481-Building-a-new-and-improved-Jalopy-frame
Serial number 15777.
“Up for grabs is my 1946 Willys CJ2A. Serial Number 15777. This is one of the few three on the tree Column Shift models that was made. All of the major components are original and the serial number on the frame and tub match. The only modifications that have been made are the aftermarket oil filter, fuel pump, 12V alternator, and the front brake drums were changed to Ford 9″ using a conversion kit. This Willys runs and drives. I just installed a new fuel tank and I recently had the floor boards replaced. There are a few things that need to be addressed. The rear drive shaft is removed right now; the speedometer cable needs to be replaced. One front headlight and bezel need to be replaced. 713-252-7864”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500.
This runs and drives.
“Got a Ford GTB “Burma Jeep” / Bomb Truck. No title, runs drives around the yard, winch works, four wheel drive works. Original drive line as far as I can tell. No gas tank, no bed, no seats, Transfer case linkage is really, really stiff. I disconnected it to test the 4X4. Needs way more TLC than I can give it at this time. Would consider trades on firearms or a Willys CJ3B project with a good body, even if I have to give you money.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500
It runs.

There might be some value here.
“1962 Willys Jeep Universal CJ3B, was running when parked 2 years ago. Engine is free, starter disengages before it can crank. Gas tank rusted, was running on auxillary tank. Front half solid and fairly rust free, back half really rusty and floorboards rusted out. Gears shift into position. The frame has an angle iron reinforcement welded to the frame bottom under the driver’s area. The windshield frame, hood, front cowling, fenders and grill are in nice condition for a Jeep this age. The bad rust out is in the rear tub and under the seat areas. The seat pictured DOES NOT COME WITH IT, NO SEATS. USED AS IS. No title, bill of sale only. Located 10 miles south of Oxford Mississippi, aprox. 1.5 hours south of Memphis TN”
From the Missoulian, a newspaper in Missoula, Mt, comes this picture. A friend of mine spotted in the Sunday paper and thought of us (she’s a historian, not a jeep person — good to have friends all over 🙂 ).
The caption with the picture: In another photograph from the end of a successful hunt, Eddie Churchwell displays his bull moose in front of Missoula’s Fire Station 1 in 1955. The moose was taken from the Lolo Creek area and brought home on a Willys Jeep.
I had to update this page because my links I had used no longer work. Fortunately, I found an image of a FC-160 from India (at least the Flickr page claims it is a FC-160 — feel free to correct me on this). This picture was taken in January of this year by Vaibhav Bhosale.
“In 1965 Mahindra & Mahindra of India began assembling the Jeep FC Forward Control. Mahindra introduced its versions to include the FC-160. The FC-160 (and later FJ-160) uses a frame which is 2.33 meters in length. The FC-150s frame was 2.05 meters while the FC-170 used a frame of 2.63 meters in length. Thus, the FC-160 was an intermediate truck, marketed to supplement the FC line and the final version was only manufactured by Mahindra & Mahindra.
The pick-up box was designed and manufactured by Mahindra and there were other bodies which were available. Additionally, the base FC-160 chassis was used in the manufacture of a mini-bus which uses the basic front face of the FC. Currently, Mahindra’s FJ-460 and FJ-470 van or mini-bus vehicles still retain the appearance of the original Forward Control. These vehicles can accomodate from 11 to 15 passengers plus the driver”
Caption from flickr: One of the three Jeep models built by Mahindra & Mahindra. This vehicle was used by my school to train the students on Automobile subject. We used to play hide n seek when it got abandoned.
This looks like good deal. It sounds like they both run?
“1948 green Jeep CJ2, engine, transmission, running gear, frame, all in good working order.
1949 yellow Jeep CJ3, engine, transmission, running gear, frame, all in good working order. Engine needs valve job.
Both Jeeps would be great for a frame-up restoration, or use one for parts
Or Best Offer.”
