(09/23/2011) It doesn’t run, but did when the seller drove it into the grass.
“1946 Willys (Jeep) CJ2 still has the flat head 4 cylinder engine. I drove it to where it is parked now. The brakes lost fluid and I was going to bleed them. That was three years ago. The upholstery on the seats is shot. It was red before someone painted it yellow. The front axle still has the original hubs so it has never had lockouts installed. The speedometer is missing but I have one around here somewhere. I dont know the correct mileage. I do have a title. Two of the tires are flat now. I have a tilt bed trailer that will carry it easily if need be. The spare has no tire.”

“Willys CJ3B 4WD Jeep for offroad use only. Mid/late 50’s model. Not a beauty queen, body is rough, but starts, runs and stops. Has new exhaust manifold and pipe, new fuel pump, new (not r/b) Carter carb, new gauges. new vinyl bikini top; Lock-out hubs; Ramsey 5,000 lb. elect. winch; brush guard and tow-bar. Sold as is where is w/Bill of Sale only; (has not been titled in many years, but is clear and has VIN tag on engine firewall). Can be seen daily in Pearland off of Dixie Farm Rd. and FM 518.

(10/10/2011) This MB has been fixed up quite a bit from the last time it appeared at eWillys at 2008. Unfortunately, it seems I delete that post. So, I’ve included the pic at the very bottom of this page. You’ll note the roll cage, though no longer installed.
“This is a 1942 military jeep. The data plate on the dash shows that in 1952 the military refurbhised it and put a new motor in it.It is street legal, and has a clear blue title. This was my personal toy, and we’ve had alot of work done on this jeep. The motor sounds really good on it. I just got it out of the shop for having a brake job and a pin or something must have come loose in the transmission because it just wouldn’t move. I’ve had three previous willy’s jeeps, I planned on doing a full restoration on this jeep also, but have too many iorns in the fire.”

I had a wonderful day with my kids today. Tomorrow brings a couple meetings and then a drive east as fast as possible in a hopeful attempt to outrun the snow. So, expect updates tomorrow evening, connectivity premitting.
Neither rain, snow, sleet or hail will stop us as Ann and I begin our trek across the US with Long Island and the retrieval of some paintings for my parents as our ultimate goal. Ok, maybe the snow and sleet will slow us a bit, so I hope to see none of either! On Saturday we arrived in Salt Lake for a quick visit with my kids. We begin the trek west on Monday.
As we passed through Idaho on our way to Salt Lake on Saturday we made a quick stop at Josh’s for my first ever chance to drive a GPA! Even though it doesn’t go anywhere just yet, it was still fun to pretend. Josh has plenty of work left to restore this rare vehicle and continues a search for parts.
