Ann’s aunt spotted this ad in a Wheeler Dealer Magazine at Walmart (yes, I have agents scouring everywhere . . .lol). The 56 miles seems hard to swallow . . . maybe 56 miles since the paint job?
“1951 Jeepster with 56 actual miles Red/Black convertible with top. Needs a good home. PH 480-338-5040.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1500
I’m thinking this needs more than clutch work.
“I am selling a 1958 Willy’s CJ3B. It has a Buick V6 in it. No top. Needs Clutch work, and some TLC. Extra chassis if wanted. 3 speed manual transmission. Asking 1500 obo. Email with questions or offers. Open to possible trades. ”
This is a project.
“Willys Jeep CJ-My old 4×4 jeep needs a home with someone that has the time to keep her going. She needs a lot of work and tires and paint but was running when I last started her several years back.
This is the kinda project you can get going and take through the brush without worrying about scratches or dings…it ain’t pretty…it’s a ranch/hunting lease tool.
It’s a project…not something you can take and drive…you’ll have to do some work first. I don’t have the time to keep rebuilding the original carb with it’s leather accelerator pump diaphragm…a smart rebuilder would probably just put a newer carb on it. Needs brakes, seats(frames are there), tires, TLC.
lowballers…forget it…I’ve got about a two year window for selling.
modern firearms/real samurai swords/partial trades considered”
This has a monroe lift, too.
“nice solid cj2a,sn 23665,has monroe lift,rear pto,belt pulley,runs great,three on the tree,needs brakes. looking for a nice cj5 or 7.call with questions mike at 618-781 5029”

(03/13/2011) This is a beautiful FC, however there are at least 3 issues I have with this: 1) See image #3, note the chevrolet like design … sigh … 2) See image #4, note the ‘150’ logo rather than ‘170’ … really? …. 3) the bumper isn’t quite stock, but doesn’t look all that bad.

It needs some work. The seats are odd.
“I am selling my 1948 Willys Jeep cj2a. The engine was rebuilt from ground up about 2 years ago. The fuel tank, body, generator, and radiator need work and it needs new seats. It is in need of a good home who can provide TLC and finish its rebuild. I am starting at $3000 but willing to negotiate for the right person. Please let me know if you are interested in seeing it or have any questions.”
UPDATE: Rick forwarded me some ‘before’ pics of his jeep. It was rough.
Rick shared this story with me a few days ago. He has promised to send me some ‘before’ pictures.
He wrote, “Hi Dave. I bought a 1948 willys jeep in Montana off Craigslist 2 years ago for $700. Unfortunately, I never got up there to get it, because soon after I bought I was diagnosed with cancer. I am a Captain at the Medford Fire Department; as a surprise to me, my fellow fighters went to montana, brought it back and completely rebuilt it. My wife was in on it too. On December 23rd, 2011, they presented it to me. I was completely surprised! Want to see it?”
Of course I told him I’d love to see it! So, here it is. Thanks for sharing your marvelous story Rick. The jeep looks wonderful. You’ve got some great friends in Medford!
