“1942 Ford Jeep, V-6 , Power Steering, Warn Hubs, Tow Bar, Double can rack, Hi-Jack”
1959 Wagon DeWitt, IA $3000
This used to be a Department of Archeology Wagon. It needs a little work still.
“This 1959 Willy’s station wagon, 4X4, flat head, 6cyl., 3 speed, serial no. 39971. This unit was originally owned by the US Government, the Dept. of Archeology. Ten years ago this unit had new quarters and complete paint. It was done in 2 different colors of metallic gray, a darker and a lighter color. Roof and lower portion below the mouldings are the lighter color. It has all new front springs.
I have driven this unit out on the gravels, but never on the highway. 4 wheel drive works, clutch works. Brakes worked when I parked it 10 years ago. They do not today. Might need fluid, don’t know. I got this unit out yesterday, I put battery in it and gas, and drove it out of the building. When this unit was put away I added 2 gallons of diesel fuel to the gas and let it run so it would not stick any valves in the flathead engine. This Willy’s has all of its stainless steel trim inside of the truck.
It also has all of the other extra chrome pieces. Has original seat for the driver. I believe I have the other seats, don’t know for sure. Pretty sure they are in a storage building in town, have have to look. Have the oak wood strips for rear floor. Tailgate for truck is in back of truck. It is painted and done. I have a newer style replacement bench seat for the front that I was going to install. It has good radial tires and spoke wheels. The exhaust is complete. I have all the windows and trim moldings and inside moldings for the truck. They were taken out when it was painted.
Doors fit nice, open and close nice. Windows roll up and down. Has cracked glass on driver’s door. Windshield good. When this unit was repainted and quarters put on, it was not going to be a show vehicle. There was some rust in floor pans and have been repaired good enough for normal use and are solid and sealed up. I do not have time to finish this. After if was painted, I parked it and have lost interest in it. It would be a good project and a very different vehicle if someone wanted to complete it. It is not over-priced and they are getting very hard to find. This unit has a Minnesota Title.
I would consider trades on something of interest. If you are interested, give me a call and we will talk. Would like this unit to go to a good home as soon as possible.
Will consider offers and possible trades

Bruce’s Trailer Makeover
Bruce wanted to share some before and after pictures of a trailer he saved. As you can see, the before picture shows a pretty tired trailer. However, after six weeks of work by Bruce, the trailer looks like a great match for his flattie. Thanks for sharing Bruce.
Bruce wrote, “I purchased this trailer locally (7/2/12) for $600, more than i wanted to spend. however, it was simple to transport so i bought it anyway. they are hard to find.
Every nut, bolt and screw was removed, and all 20 leaves from the springs. All of the u-bolts and one shackle were replaced. All rust was removed. The floor had a few rust holes on the side that i duct taped over and then rhino guarded (black spray) the interior. I picked up a 3×6 rubber floor mat from u-line that fits nicely inside.
The trailer had home made fenders that were welded on. Once i removed them, gaping holes were left. I found new fenders at ‘tractor supply’.

Wooden Flatfender Models, Pictures and Website on eBay
UPDATE: This is back on eBay. A couple new pictures were add, too.
When I first noticed this ebay ad, I was confused about it. It took me some digging to understand that this family out of Entlebuch, Switzerland, once sold jeeps. Then, some members turned to making toy jeeps. Apparently, there are about 50 toys left? They have listed the toys, the website, and photos for sale if I understand correctly.
According to the seller, “Shortly after the war (1945) Family Enzmann imported 60 Jeeps to Entlebuch, where they were rebuilt and sold to the farmers as commercial vehicles. At the weekends my father together with his classmates from university, drove the vehicles from Geneva to Schüpfheim. ( Which always turned into a big party afterwards.) My grandfather organised special events on which the Jeeps were presented to all customers.
Besides the garage my grandfather also owned a cinema and a hotel and he liked to advertise his garage and Jeeps in between the films. After a while the Jeeps were also sold with a closed driver’s cabins due to the very hard winters in Entlebuch.
The images below are from the website that is part of the auction:
And a couple images of the toys:

Green truck:
1962 – 1 ton – 4 wheel drive – 3 speed transmission – Dana 18 transfer case

Cab has had some “quick” body work and paint by a previous owner. Looks good from a distance but could use some more work. All glass is in good condition. Front and rear lower cab corners are in excellent condition. Frame has been patched but seems to be strong. Has nice seats and door panels.
