Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “1953 Jeep Willys Panel Wagon with Willys F4-134 Hurricane Engine. All matching numbers. Restoration well over half done, Body is straight with very few dings or rust (except a little surface rust on Front End and a few small rust holes on door bottom). All glass, interior and chrome inside of it. Quite a few spare/new parts. Needs a Rubber kit which can be found at multiple places online. Even have the Original Willys Mechanic’s Manual. Engine and Drivetrain were running fine 2 years ago before beginning of restoration. Asking $3000 or Best Offer. Prices for Jeep Willys’ can exceed $30,000 for good restored these days. Would make a great Off-Road Toy, Military MASH Ambulance or a Classic “Woodie” Surf Wagon with a few Mods. Since having a heart attack, I wont be able to finish her, but I’m sure some one else can finish and enjoy her. One of the pics in this ad was about 20 years old and the other 2-3 years old before beginning the restore. Here’s a ‘jeep’ book that was released last year.

This hasn’t been barely used in 30 years. But, it does run and drive. Bids start at $2000 with no reserve.
“The owner of this Jeep passed away, and has left it sitting in a garage since 1980. We purchased it from the family estate and cleaned the carburator, and emptied the fuel tank to install a new sending unit. We also put new brakes on it along with rebuilding the master cylinder. The Jeep starts up & runs surprisingly good after sitting all those years. The tires were new before parking it in the garage so there is a lot of tread, but they do have some weather cracks. We took pictures of the worst rust spots on it that lie under the passenger seat. Other than that the Jeep is ready for a good restoration, everything is still all original. Still all original paint. It is a 2 owner vehicle with the 2nd owner owning it since 1973. It comes with the original title of 1973, and books. The family attest that the 48,000 miles are true and actual. This is the CJ3B series which gives it the overhead motor, and the raised hood with the military style fenders. 1964 was the last year for this style.

My Willys Jeep starts and runs absolutely excellent. The paint is good with minuscule blemishes. 4 wheel drive works great, with brand new tires on jeep. Reupholstered seats with odometer that exceeds mechanical limits. Some new gauges and some are original with dash being in excellent condition. Jeep has new fuel tank. “Awesome antique 1947 Willy’s CJ-2A Jeep in good condition. (Civilian version of the MB military Jeep). Runs well. Mostly original parts. New seats, fuel pump, filter, plugs, battery and electric coil. Fuel system just flushed. Decent rubber though some cracks in treads. Brought up to running condition and repainted original color a few years ago by a mechanic (not a full restoration, just up to speed). Lots of fun. People love it, especially kids! Great parade or summer around town vehicle. NADA guides range from $4900-$21,000 depending on condition. Retired appraiser valued this vehicle between $8-9,000 (just looking it over and seeing it run). Asking $8000. Serious inquiries only: 715-529-7683.”

“Original rebuilt 4 cylinder, F head. Runs well, carb could use a rebuild though. New gas tank. Dash has been cleaned up. 3 speed manual, 4×4 with hi/low, and a Warn overdrive. Very cool old Jeep.”

“1944 Willys Jeep MB, runs, drives and stops, 96% original, L4 134ci “go devil”, aftermarket Solex carb.(have original Carter WO in a box, included), converted to 12V alternator, windshield is not original (off a CJ2A). Newer bias ply tires w/ less than 2k miles. Recently replaced wheel bearings, seals, brakes & brake lines. Tub is in good shape except for small rust hole on left side, outside.

“I have a 1951 cj3a Willys jeep for sale. I do not have a title. The front drivers side floor board has been rusted thru and cut out. Body is still in decent shape. The previous owner had cut a portion of the firewall out to fit a V8. I’m selling this as a parts jeep or would make a great candidate for a rock crawler. Will not part out, take the whole thing.”

This runs and drives, but has back fees.
“Okay, I have received 100 texts and calls about this. Let me clarify and try to answer all of the questions.
1) It is a clean title in my name.
2) It is not currently registered and has back fees. I WILL PAY THEM before selling.
3) The engine is from an F-head and not the original L-head. I will include an extra parts engine which is the original L-head style.
4) It runs, drives, shifts and idles as it should.
5) It has a new stainless fuel tank.
6) The brakes need adjusting (If you want to stop)
7) E brake is functional.
8) Four wheel drive works
9) High and Low 4X4 work”
