“HERES A OLD MILITARY JEEP, THATS BEEN MY DADS DEER HUNTING TRANSPORTATION FOR THE LAST 20+ YEARS. ITS BEEN STORED EVERY YEAR AND THEN FIRED UP JUST BEFORE DEER SEASON, AND USED THRU OUT THE SEASON, THEN BACK INTO STORAGE.

IT HAS NOT BEEN FIRED UP THIS YEAR, BUT IT WILL RUN NO PROBLEM WITH A GOOD 6 VOLT BATTERY AND SOME GAS.

AS YOU CAN SEE IT HAS A FEW MODIFICATIONS, LIKE EXTRA HANDLES TO GRIP TO ASSIST AN ELDER PERSON IN AND OUT, HE ALSO HAD A 2 STEP STOOL THAT WAS ON A ROPE SO HE COULD GET IN AND THEN PULL THE STOOL UP AND SIT IT IN THE BACK. THE SEAT S HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH A NICE WIDE BENCH SEAT.

THE TIRES AND WHEELS ARE NEWER, THE OLD ONES WERE ROTTEN AND WERE REPLACED WITH REAL MILITARY WHEELS AND TIRES SOME TIME AGO. STILL IN GREAT SHAPE.

THERE ARE CHAINS ON THE BACK TIRES, THE 4 WHEEL DRIVE WORKS. SEE THE PICTURES……THE 5 GAL GAS CAN IN THE BACK IS THE GAS TANK. MOST OF THE FRONT FLOORS HAVE BEEN RECLAD WITH TIN.

THE BODY IS IN SOLID CONDITION, WITH PLENTY OF PATINA.”

Original drive line with good engine, transmission, T-case, etc… Nice Blue paint approx 10 years old. Original 6 volt system. No rust. Very good body. New windshield frame, seat frames and Beechcraft seat cushions w/ rear seat. Includes tow bar and rear tow hitch. I bought it 3 years ago as a project and but have not found time for it. Parts included but not installed include new windshield cowl, glass, insall kit; new seats, cushions, seat belts. Great father/ son project. $4,200 OBO”

“This is a 56 willys cj5 that was used to work on oil field pipelines. the old jeep has a heavy steel bed and a war surplus braden winch that works and is worth good money to someone restoring a military vehicle. tires are good. the engine runs perfect. i put a new master cylinder on it. i had planned to use it at the deer lease as a work rig but never got around to it. has brand new gas tank also that has not been installed. asking 1950.00 cash.”

Last month this was selling as a non-runner. Now it runs. It is still pretty rough. No title.

“i have a 1946 Willys Jeep Cj2a. It has the original Flathead four cylinder engine that runs. It has been converted to 12 volt. Its has only 28000 miles on it. ALOT or new parts. Over $500 in parts Needs some work and some tlc but still runs and drives. Would make a good trail rig/ mud bogger or a restoration project. Motor alone sells for 500 running. Bill Visits the Fantastic Caverns

Upon learning about the jeep at the Fantastic Cavern’s Visitor Center in Springfield, Missouri, Bill had to see it for himself. Fortunately for us, he took along his camera. Since Friday is the official start of the Christmas season, even though ‘Black Friday’ has now leaked into the evening of ‘Turkey, Christmas presents in the back of jeep just seemed a perfect way to launch the season (for us Willys nuts anyway).

Here’s photos of the original jeep. Bill was told it was a CJ-2A, but it seemed more 3A to him.

“1948 Willys Jeepster Convertible. It has the L-134 engine (flathead) and has the flat front end. It also has side steps, deluxe steering wheel (full circle chrome ring) and the T badge up front. It was built in the combined plane around the middle of 1948, along side of the 48 wagons. The title shows 1949. That means it sold it 1949, but was manufactured in 1948. It was a gift from my grandfather and has been sitting in storage for almost 30 years. There are no missing parts and is in good shape on the outside and on the interior. It needs to be in the hands of someone who is interested in doing the mechanical work to get it running again.”

Male Call Cartoons With Jeeps

John took the time to scan Male Call comic strips that contain jeeps and post them at his google page. Surprisingly, most of the drawings appear to be Ford GPs. You can view the cover of the book here.

He writes, “My Dad had a copy of this printing of Milt Caniff’s Male Call and had it stashed in the back of a dresser drawer. Fair game for a 12-year-old when I ‘discovered’ it in ’64. Don’t know what happened to his copy. Saw a copy on Amazon and grabbed it. I scanned all the images that include all or part of a Jeep in the strip. Consider this a fresh look, enjoy!”

“Vintage 1968 REMCO Mighty Mike Cobra Skyway Balancing Kit Set with original box and instructions. Has all of the original parts except 1 metal weight. There are no cracks or breaks on any part. The set never came with a Mighty Mike but I will also include a Mighty Mike Jeep body in nice shape (no chassis). Original box has tape but it is all there, no inserts. Everything will be bubble wrapped to prevent damage in shipping and all voids filled to prevent any rattling. Can be wrapped in heavy shipping paper for 3 pounds shipping or in a box for 5 pounds shipping. Quoted shipping price is for 5 lbs, will be less for 3 lbs.”

“if your looking for a very nice Antique or Vintage 1960,s Tonka Jeep Wrecker diecast model toy this is it! this is a 1960’s Model Jeep Wrecker made by Tonka toys. it is about 10 inches long by 6 inches high,and about 5 iches wide something like a 1/16 scale. this vintage collectors Jeep is very rare it is almost like in new condition,only for a few small spots of paint missing and they are very small. and this also comes with its original Box and is also in good condition and its rare to find a Jeep in this condition with a original box this nice also. I have added many pictures to show how nice this Jeep is and there is no rust at all on it also as you can see from top to bottom of Jeep. “This is a near original 1946 Willys CJ2A, the engine was rebuilt about 500 miles ago, has a new carborator(not original), , new exhaust (not original), new tires, re-upolstered seats, runs great. This is a collectable Willys very good shape, lock in original front hubs, split transfer case hi/low/neutral. Everything works, will climb almost anything. Has been converted to a 12 volt system. Must see to appreciate. This Willys is located near Apache Junction, Arizona, buyer must arrange own shipping or pick up from my residence. Buyer must pay 20% of final price to hold until pick-up arrangements are made and then final payment in full before pick-up. I purchased this Jeep to use for rockhounding in the Arizona desert and decided that it could cause damage to this old classic, and it is a bit too rough riding for my wife and I to use.
