UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $10,900.
This looks like a time machine that would take me back to the 1950s.
” Representing the perfect car for the Islands, Beach house, or just traveling on the coastal roads, this 1949 Willy’s Jeepster is both unique and fun.
Powered by a overhead valve four cylinder engine, coupled to a three speed manual transmission with overdrive, it is quite spry and cruises nicely at highway speeds.
Limited numbers of this year were produced, resulting in their somewhat scarcity and adding to their collectibility.
Representing a older restoration with very nice seating, its a driver quality car. Everything works and the engine and transmission perform flawlessly with no unusual noises or smoke. Additionally it is fitted with a new convertible top and boot. Approximately 70K miles.
Certainly a great vintage, classic, antique and collectible car to own and drive. Additionally a great investment car.
Fully serviced with fresh oils, new battery etc…”
I think I like this one better than the red. Must be the yellow . . .

“1948 Willys jeep that has a solid drivetrain: runs great, shifts great, easily goes into and out of 4wd, as well as hi/lo range. The body is very fixable with the usual areas being rusty. I have a good NC title in hand”
This is the first of two Jeepster for sale on eBay by the same seller. Both look good.

UPDATE: **SOLD**
“This vehicle could be tagged as the orig. SUV, it’s been fully modified for off road as well as highway use. Body needs some cosmetic work but mechanically it’s solid. Everywhere you go it gets loving attention. Larie Tales at JEEPS R US of Laguna Beach appraised it, as is, at $25,000 to $30,000. I personally don’t think it’s there yet, but the asking price is reasonable.

This needs brakes. Looks solid otherwise.
“1946 Willys CJ-2A—-$2,500.00 O.B.O.
This Jeep has the original flat head 4 cylinder engine that has been converted to 12 V. The engine runs great. This Jeep has all the original drive train and the 4-wheel drive works great. This Jeep has super low gears and a manual transmission. This is a great project Jeep and will be perfect for a Jeep lover like me. I have too many projects and not enough time and money. The only problem with this Jeep is the brakes. I took it out of the garage this year and the brakes had lost pressure. It seems like the brakes need to be bled or maybe a master cylinder. This is the first model C.J. after WWII. Your dad has been wanting one of these since he was a kid. You can get it for him just in time for Christmas. Call Taylor at 801-808-2181. O.B.O. ”

I bought this for a restoration have too many projects. This jeep needs a lot of work but is a great project for restoration. The previous owner passed away but his son said it ran. Engine turns freely. I’ve soaked the pistons with marvel mystery oil. I have not tried to start it. This one has most of the original wiring and a lot of original underhood items that are usually missing. Has postwar flathead engine. No data plates and no title. Can provide a bill of sale. The back half of this jeep has been modified and i will throw in the back section of my parts tub for free. Price reduced to 900; will throw in 4 combat rims for 1100. From the 1950s until 1968 visitors to the Black Hills of South Dakota could purchase tickets for a ride in a jeep to Harney Peak. The ride would take visitors up to the CCC built lookout at the top of the peak, the tallest point in the United States east of the Rockies (visitors could also hike or ascend via horseback). You can view various pictures of and from the lookout here. Erosion due to the jeep trail ended the trips by jeep. The area around the peak was also turned into a wilderness area (and one could argue given the road how that might happen, but that’s another a debate for another time), so no vehicles are allowed anymore.

This picture was taken at Sylvan Lake. They employed both flatties and CJ-5s. Custer State Park – Page 104
Gerald sent these digital versions of this postcard to me a couple years ago. You can also buy it here.
This is part of a collection of photos, but none of the other photos have jeeps.
“HERE ARE 11 4″X6″ PHOTOS FROM WW2 SHOWING,’THE BRASS”, MACHINE GUNS, MORTAR CEWS, JEEPS,MESS HALL AND MORE. AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PHOTOS, SOME OF THE EDGES HAVE DETERIATED. THESE ARE NICE PHOTOS THOUGH.”
Here’s an interesting article published in the May 1953 issue of Popular Mechanics. I don’t remember running across one of these. Interesting that they chose to use a VEC CJ-2A rather than a later model jeep. This issue also includes an introduction and comparison between the M-38A1 and the Mighty Mite.
Popular Mechanics – May 1953 – Page 65
There is an issue for sale on eBay as well form only $5.25
I spotted the 2nd combo first, but then saw the really cool “Outdoor Package”! Nice.
1. “This is a very nice 1963 Tonka Outdoor Living Set in its original box. The set consists of a Jeep Surrey, Pick-up Truck with removable camper, Jeep Runabout, and Boat with Trailer. The set has 3 pieces of luggage that go in the jeep, and the motor that attaches onto the back of the boat. As you can see in the photos, the toys are in nice shape. The original box is tattered and dirty. You rarely see the original box.”
View all the information on eBay
2. “Vintage Tonka Jeep and Boat with Luggage and Spare Tire! Fun combination of Jeep, trailer and boat in good “played with” condition! Boat is missing the antenna, outboard motor and top. Jeep is missing the steering wheel, (easily replaced). Only minor scratches as visible in photos.”
Anyone know anything about these?
“These signs are hand made. Each sign is made one at a time on recycled or scrap metal so that, no two signs are exactly the same.
The metal may be scratched, dented, bent or intentionally distressed to make the sign look old. They are made on 24 gauge steel and then the enamel paint is baked, and clear coated. 17 X10.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was Make Offer
“1948 Willys Jeep CJ2A….$2500
(2) 1946 Willys Jeeps CJ2A…..$1500/each
According to the seller, he has “title for 1948, Bill of Sale for the (2) 1946’s. The 48 will run, it has not in two years and then for a short period of time on lawn mower can of gas. The 46’s were bought for parts. I have no idea their capability of running. Both are intact only missing a part here and there. I would represent all of the Willys as needing a full restoration, that way an individual can expect the worse and hope for the best. Also, if you are interested after viewing the photos; make me an offer to consider.”
UPDATE: Back on eBay. Buy-it-Now price is only $3500.
