This jeep has a CJ-5 grafted onto CJ-3B cowl. So, it isn’t mostly stock.
“I have a 53 cj3b for sale. It does run, but needs a tune-up. Original motor, jeep is mostly stock. This is a project jeep, it has some rust and dings”

Looks like the sides may have been patched.
“An extremely rare WWII US Navy trailer from San Diego with a clear California title and an early black California license plate. The original ID tag is still affixed to the trailer. The body is very straight with some some spots of rust visible in the pictures, overall I would say this is a very good trailer. These are so rare that you might not have the opportunity to ever get one again and my reserve is very reasonable. Payment expected within three business days after auction ends. Cash in person, cashiers check or wire transfer. Available for inspection with an appointment before the auction ends.”
UPDATE: Status unknown.

<– Day 9 – March 26: Space History and White Sands | Overview | Day 11 – March 28: Petroglyph Rocks and Tent Rocks –>
On Wednesday March 27th we spent the day exploring eastern New Mexico.
We began the morning with a beautiful drive east up to Cloudcroft, a town that sits at 9000 ft, making it popular destination for folks looking to escape the heat of the Alamogordo valley. It was early, so not much was open. We continued until we reached the dusty town of Artesia, NM. My oldest son Karson had been ‘stationed’ in Artesia to get his final training for Fema Corps, but left Sunday (only 3 days earlier) for Brooklyn, where he will spend two months helping the Hurricane Sandy clean up process. So, we just missed him!
From Artesia, we went south on Highway 285 until we reached Carlsbad Caverns National Park.
After entering the Carlsdbad’s visitor center, we had a choice. We could either take an elevator down or walk down to the caverns themselves. Ann thought it best to take the elevator, but was perfectly happy to let me walk down the winding pathway through a massive cave entrance, which leads to the caverns.
So, I started towards the entrance. At first the switchbacks were relative gentle…
But soon they got steeper. As the path led into the cave opening, moisture from the walls and ceiling bled onto the path, making it slippery in spots due to the angle of descent.
Eventually, I reached an intersection. I was uncertain which way to go until I spotted a sign I thought would get me to the elevators. So, I turned right, unaware that I was actually heading into the cavern system itself. Once I realized my mistake, I then had to figure out whether it was quicker to head back the way I had come or venture forward until I returned back the the intersection starting point. Poor Ann was left waiting for me. I think it took me about 15 minutes to complete the entire circuit through the caverns at a slight job.
One I found Ann again, we I took my second stroll around the caverns, this time at a much slower pace. My photos of the cavern were mostly blurry, but this was turned out reasonably well.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6000.
Hard to tell much with the tarp.
“health causes sale. was gone thru 10 years ago then parked. rewired, engine, transmision, and transfer case rebuilt. has original 134 flat head. was upgraded to 12 volt system. has bikini top. have some extra parts.”
This starts and runs. This looks like a diamond that needs some cleaning.
“1960 Willys Jeep. All original all the way down to the hub caps! Has and aftermarket Kelly All-Steel cab on it, front tow hitch, good tires, starts and runs good. Engine, transmission and 4-wd all work good. Body is in very good shape for its age with only a little bit of rust starting in a few places. A few small dents, but nothing that could not be repaired easliy. This is an original Willys Jeep and if you are looking for a restorable collectible…this is the one! Thanks for looking and call or email for more information if you need it!
Call or text me at 308-279-0200”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000
All the parts to make a complete jeep? Besides the engine, radiator, and wiring I think some tires would be necessary.
“This Jeep has all the parts to make a complete Jeep down to the headlight bezels and has windshield (not pictured) Needs an engine, radiator and wiring. Its on four steel rims now (not pictured). Has some rust, nothing overwealming.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
“1946 Willys jeep CJ2A with the 134 L head engine that was stuck and soaking it has broken it free. The engine runs good it just smokes. I don’t know if the rings are stuck or one might be broke, don’t know. I have not drove the jeep much since it has been running. I drove it about two miles and it drove good, transmission and transfer case work good. The brakes are going to need attention. The tires all hold good air. The windshield is broken, and somebody cut the dash up, I think they must have had a different set of gauges in there. The jeep has some rust, has lockouts, and still has the orignal seat frames. The will run and drive.”
<– Day 8 – March 25: Tucson, A Titan, and Tombstone | Overview | Day 10 – March 27: Caverns & Aliens –>
On Tuesday March 26th, we touristed several spots around the Alamogordo area.
Be began the day by driving a short distance south of Tularosa, stopping at a Pistachio Farm and, possibly, the worlds largest pistachio! We also found this Mad-Max-like crazy car.
Next we toured the city of Alamogordo and the New Mexico Museum of Space History. At the museum Ann spotted two pictures of jeeps.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay.
From the movie Mrs. Brown, You’ve got a Lovely Daughter.
“Original 8×10-inch color movie still / mini lobby card was produced to promote the 1968 MGM Herman’s Hermits musical / comedy / rock ‘n roll / greyhound dog racing film, MRS. BROWN YOU’VE GOT A LOVELY DAUGHTER, which starred Peter Noone, Karl Green, Keith Hopwood, Derek Leckenby, Barry Whitwam, Stanley Holloway, Mona Washbourne, Lance Percival, Marjorie Rhodes, Sheila White, Sarah Caldwell, Hugh Futcher, Drewe Henley, Avis Bunnage and John Sharp. The film was directed by Saul Swimmer. This is an original movie item — NOT a copy or reproduction. The still was printed in Great Britain and it features lush coloring and beautiful lithography. Title information is printed in the lower border. The card — #3 of the set — features a great shot of Peter Noone and the greyhound dog in a vintage motorcycle and sidecar — with other members of Herman’s Hermits riding in a jeep nearby.”
Since we are in New Mexico for a few days, I thought a Postcard with an old flattie would be appropriate. Can’t really see much of the jeep though.
Great vintage photo!
“FEB 1 1975, FEB 3 1975 ***** a Grip on Winter long, as on the Jeep at lower right, seem to work best on hard ice, according to Dean Buhler, a member of racing team at Neal’s Custom Paint & Body Shop in Loveland. A few drivers use chains, as at left, but chains ordinarily are no match for studs, Buhler said. Between 100 and 150 vehicles enter on Sunday, and go up to 50 miles an hour. Credit: Denver Post . Photo is 10” x 8” in size.”
UPDATE: Status Unknown. Was listed at $6000.
This includes a warn OD. It looks in good condition.
“Runs and drives fine. It’s 63 years old with original parts and still runs like a champ. These jeeps were used in the Korean War 61-63 years ago. They are 24v and were built to be fully submersible. The M38 is a beefier, military version of the CJ3A. There is a lot more to say about these jeeps but I’ll keep it short. It attracts a lot of attention. It was my daily driver for over a year before I wanted something a little more… luxurious. There is also nowhere to play with these off-road anymore so it just sits in the garage. This M38 is even more unique because it is all original, not some hobbled-together assembly of random jeep parts from different jeep models that happen to fit together like you typically see. It has an $800 Warn over-drive that can be engaged in any gear. Has new tires too. I have the real title and the matching, original data-plates are still there and readable. Come drive it 🙂 I won’t entertain any other offers unless it is backed it up with a comparable example. Good luck finding one! 😉 Use email for communication.”

It’s not often you see a three pronged plug outlet in a jeep’s engine compartment.
“Here is a very nicely set up classic Jeep. It has a smooth running Chevy throttle body fuel injected 305/350 V8 engine, with a five speed Borg-Warner manual gearbox; it also has power steering. The engine starts easily every time, and idles smoothly and sounds nice. The engine setup has its’ computer/diagnosis plug-in mounted under the dash. There is a idle/throttle control lever attached to the shifter and there is a sticker on the dash that says Warn “all range” Overdrive. The transmission bolts directly to the transfer case, so I’m assuming that it has a GM transfer case……possibly an older K-5 blazer. A note in the Jeep says it has a AMC 20-456G rear end, (other #s on the note say 41-9 F5G). It has a custom built radiator w/heavy duty aluminum shroud, dual exhausts with long tube headers (surprisingly quiet for such a basic/short exhaust system). The Jeep has Willwood front disc brakes with a manual proportioning/adjustment valve just by the drivers’ seat (see pic). The front axles have manual locking hubs, they say Superwinch.L”
This has potential.
“All original. Some rust and needs work. More pictures available.”

(03/08/2013) Lights and Gauges do not work.
“1951 rust free m38 willys jeep. Runs, drives, stops. Has original 24v system. Engine was rebuilt a few years back and has less than 500 miles on rebuild. Has new fuel tank. Starter was rebuilt. Have receipts to back up work. Over $5000 invested in the work alone. Brakes work. Has clear title. Some of the bads: 60+ year old vehicle has some leaks but not to bad for this age. Lights do not work. Gauges do not work. Hi low shifter will pop into neutral under deceleration w/o bungee. This vehicle was owned by one person for over 30 years prior to me. I don’t want to sell but I need the funds right now. ”
