Joe has this story to share:
A few years back, a friend purchased a stretch-version of a 1947 Willys CJ2A that had actually been raffled off to benefit the organization “Ducks Unlimited”. We assume the jeep was modified before the raffle to better accommodate the duck hunting sport but the winner sold the rig instead.
The frame on the 2A and the drive shaft were lengthened about 12 inches by bubba in a back alley somewhere, based on the welding technique used. They used heavy grade angle steel and welded it like it was a Navy ship. The rear of the body was also lengthened about 18 inches and cantilevers over the frame to accommodate longer troop seats. When we first saw the jeep on the trailer, the rig looked like a CJ-2A;
The new owner happened to be a US Navy veteran and decided the jeep would better serve as a “Shore Patrol” replica jeep than a hunting jeep. The large oversized tires were replaced and the windshield frame was straightened, among other things too numerous to mention. And a few other items were added (ie. siren, 50 cal. MG, etc.) to complete the new image. Here are the before and after pics of the transformation of Ducky. Needless to say that “Ducky” was a huge hit in parades and car show.
After the Restoration:
Marc spotted these photos on eBay. The auctions are over.

I can’t tell if this is a photgraphic studio prop jeep or a movie studio prop jeep.
“Original World War II Real Photo Postcard, (An actual photograph), Postally Unused. Women in Unusual Military Jeep Studio Prop. The photo’s in very good condition, but does have a band of very fine cracks running vertically up the middle of the photo, about 1″ wide. They are extremely fine and not visible at all unless photo is held in reflected light. It has very sharp detail, better than scan”
Marc spotted this odd hard top. I looked up the radio station and WXCG now broadcasts in New York State. I can’t tell where the photo was taken.
“Amateur photo negative. This is no print, just the negative.. The negative measures 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inches.. I do great combined shipping !”

“1961 willy’s overland 2dr utility wagon, designated f-226 4×4, Restored 1992, and been garaged ever since. has had limited use, approximately 8 to 10 thousand miles over the last 20 years. but this vehicle will go anywhere, an excellent 4×4.
original f-226 flat head has been converted to a 1966 chevy 283 ci engine, engine is balanced and blueprinted, mild rv cam,4bbl carb, stock intake and dual exhaust. completely rebuilt w/cylinder heads, seats, valves for todays fuel, run the cheap stuff. gets 18 mpg. only 5000 miles on it.—4×4, 3sp manual trans, warn overdrive, syncronized shift on the fly, 2 sp t-case, 4.27:1 gears. Everything overhauled in 1992- engine(1995), trans, t-case, front axle, rear axle, springs, shocks, and hardware, steering gear and knuckles, brakes and hydraulics. has 5 new snow tires, alternator, battery and speedometer. Interior- reupholstered and painted. Custom carpet, head liner and oak trim, nice stereo. seats fold up for more cargo area. I can attest to the quality and extent of all this work, as i have been a mechanic for 34 years, and own the shop this was done in for 22 years.”

“1948 willys jeep. It has been converted to 12 volt. The motor is original inline 4 f head. It runs great and its not a rust bucket. The only things that needs to be done is bleed the brakes. I also have a tandom axle trailer that I use to haul the jeep on . The trailer is 10 ft long. I would sell the two together for 5900 dollars .”

UPDATE: **SOLD* Was $2000.
This looks like a good project.
“This is a project that a previous owner started and never finished. Frame, running gear and engine have been cleaned and painted, new rubber brake lines, new shocks. Military MD engine has rebuild tag that reads .030, .010, .010. Starter turns engine over nicely. No wiring harness, no 24V equipment, some 12V ignition parts. Tub is solid, no rust, but will need some work. 16″ wheels and tires. Original military seats have new pads and black vinyl on them. Military data plate included. I have a clear Idaho title in my name. Data plate # and VIN on title match. This is a great old Jeep project for someone. All the dirty disassembly work is done and it’s ready to be put back together the way you want it. Not 100% complete so you’ll still need to find some parts. Will need to be trailered, I can deliver within 75 miles of Boise”

I interpret this as 8 rims for $200. I’m not sure if the seller will sell 4 for $100.
“I have 2 sets of 4 vintage turbine rims that are 5 lugs. they dont make them like this anymore so im asking 200.00 or best offer. reply to this add and we will call you. thanks”
Rear seat not included.
“I have a 1945 ww2 jeep for sale. Yes.. This one IS a willys mb not the CJ2As that are painted green and mistaken for military.
I went through the trouble of getting a bonded title. All that is needed to get plates is insurance.
The motor runs, and I repacked the wheel bearings and replaced the brake shoes and shocks. I also installed a master cylinder and replaced all four wheel cylinders. The brakes could use some adjusting. It does have some rust through on the floor and sides. The transmission should probably be rebuilt. The gears grind a bit going in. There is no original gas tank so I’ve been using a boat tank. The rear seat shown in the pictures is not included. It is something I welded up with rebar, its not willys manufacture and is going on another project. This jeep would be perfect as the base for a restoration or it could be used as is on a dear lease. However I’d rather see it fixed up than left to rust on some land.
