“1950 willys jeep for sale, has been parked for years. Was running when parked. Make offer. ”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $500.
Joe checked this one out. He needs someone to buy this so he doesn’t buy it. Below is his great report on the vehicle:
“I don’t think they know if it is ’41, ’42, or later since the title has an “Assigned Registration” sticker on it. I think this means the title is based on what an owner reported to DMV/MVD, rather than what a true title history or expert might have detemined. The numbers plate was not on the glove box and I forgot to check the frame behind the front tire. Despite some surface rust, it’s probably still there.
A title for the vehicle (but ONLY if you take it ALL with you: he’s had full price offers for just the title and refuses)
· 1942 GPW Body (not Ford script) in rough but restorable condition.
· 1942? GPW Frame cut at the front horns, homemade bumpers, and power? steering box.
· Front and rear full floating (military type) axles and springs.
· Front locking hubs (Warn old-school type – see pic).
· Bumperettes (sitting in the back: looked good… might be newer than WWII, though).
· CJ2A “bug-eyed” 7-slot front grill.
· Decent modern bucket seats that look comfortable and useable.
But…
· No engine, no transmission or transfer case, no drive shafts
· No windshield, no gas tank, no orig seat frames
· No combat rims, no spare tire bracket, no gas can holder”
This runs. I like the little step storage box.
“Great Go anywhere jeep. Rust from age. Jeep runs and is a great hunting/ fun jeep. Has been great having fun with and going everywhere with. Call 478.318.5425 for information or interest.”
Unclear if it runs.
“will sell or trade. what do you have that is interesting around $2500. Very negotiable and open for just about anything as long as it is fair. Thanks – send info and phone number if interested”
Project or parts jeep.
“1947 Willys CJ-2A — no title. For an experienced rebuilder — we bit off more than we could chew!! Good frame, tub needs to be replaced. Needs new tires, seats, gas tank, electrical and cooling. Original engine, missing a piston. Could be a sweet rebuild or good for parts. Has one remaining ID tag with serial number. Will need to be moved on a trailer. $700. Cash only.”
UPDATE: *SOLD** Was $500.
There appears to be value here.
“No title. Motor tight. Good winter project or just parts.
Drive train seems good, the guy I bought it from parked it in running condition but that was 20 years ago.
The head is off and the cyl bore is rusty, I am sure the motor can be salvaged but I really don’t have time for another project.”
No pics provided.
“1956 willyz jeep cj-6 Motor rebuilt frame good 18k miles tub rotted front end has blown ring and pinion 6 volt runs and drives motor was rebuilt. Needs new fuelpump which i have not installed yet 728 5980 call or text”
Just the top is for sale.
“Very rare Koenig Ironworks hard top for a Willys CJ2A Jeep. this will fit a CJ3a with slight modification, but not 3b or 5. The whole top disassembles for easy transport. It’s assembled right now. All steel, very little rust. Glass is intact, one side pane has a crack.
Asking $500. Call or text 253-threefivethree-6026. ask for Sean.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $800.
There might be some value here.
“Great project. Has rebuilt transmission and transfer case, new clutch kit, 12 volt starter, master cylinder, and the carb was rebuilt. Have all receipts for parts purchased. Parts are included but not installed. Original 4 cyl, ran about a year ago, before tear down for trans and clutch work. We started the work and fell into another project that caught our eye, this one has to go. There is a title from Louisiana, but it is not signed or notarized so it will need someone who is willing to do some leg work.”
This is rough, but there might be a few parts of value.
“Has been sitting many years. I know these are hard to find, I don’t want to scrap it.
Give me a call 620-674-1935 ask for Craig”
UPDATE: Still Available
(08/21/2013) If this runs, it might be a good price.
“Many new parts already installed, new battery, new front wheel bearings and seals, new front wheel cylinders, new master brake cylinder, new front brake lines, new points, plugs, spark plug wires, new temperature sensor and gauge, new fuel pump, new rear universal joints. Gas tank has been rhino lined. Have new water pump that hasn’t been installed yet. Please call 520-400-4239. $1500.00 Firm. Sorry No Trades”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $1000
(06/21/2013) I’m guessing this doesn’t run.
“Complete Jeep. Need of restoration. needs floor pans replaced with sheet metal as of now call or text. 2six2 2zero6 339two. ask for chris.”
Blaine forwarded this video. I’d seen it previously and thought I’d shared it, but didn’t find in my posts. So, enjoy. It would be fun to find a jeep buried in the sand, dirt or bushes; we can always dream, right?
Hugo spotted these jeeps on rails from an exhibit at Retromobile 2013, the February Paris exhibition for car lovers. I don’t know much more about the event, but it looks like fun.

Ann re-proofed the book over the last couple days and found a handful of minor errors. Rather than push the book with those errors, I’m uploading the new version, which will delay the launch. So, I will formally announce it next week once Createspace approves the PDF file. Thanks for your patience1
