Looking for parts and not sure where to go? There are a variety of large and small new and used parts sellers both online and offline.
Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. So, tread carefully when purchasing a "project". If you have any concerns about buying a vintage jeep, or run across a scam, feel free to contact me for help, comments or concerns .
Finally, another Salesbuilder landed on eBay. This one is from January 1950. One of the interesting things to me was the 12-postcard campaign shown on page 17; I’ve only documented a handful of the postcards.
This 1957 FC-150 Brochure is Form No. CS-4-57. I’m sure most of you have seen this brochure, but I hadn’t documented it. I got it off eBay and it came with an unopened FC-170 brochure Form No. CS 5-57 I.S.B. I’ll think I may have another one of those brochures. I’ll have to check my folders.

Nick takes a look at this mostly stock 1947 CJ-2A. Note the unusual location the steering box mod (it does not appear mounted against the frame rail; rather, it is slid towards the passenger side six or more inches. I could only catch a few glimpses of it, such as time stamp 20:01-20:03 (there might be others). An additional cross member was welded between the bumper and the standard cross member, then a support was welded between the new crossmember and the bumper. It’s to that support that the steering box is attached.

UPDATE: This may be the early version of the Value-rater. An updated version with 1960 dates was reportedly published in 1960 according to the March 1960 issue of Jeep News, page two.
This ebay brochure find is not one I’ve seen. Form No. 59-17, it details comparisons between jeep models (FC-150s, FC-170s, Wagons and Trucks) and the competition. I’ll update it with the real pics when I receive the brochure.

This chassis appears to have front frame horns and may have a CJ-2A transmission crossmember side-frame-mount setup. Given it’s been lengthened and located in the Spokane area, I’d bet this is a lengthened CJ-2A chassis (or CJ-2L as we’ve come to call them).

“I recently bought a second halfcab, a Koenig model 555, not realizing that my half-cab does not interchange with it. I have taken the window mechanisms from that cab, but have no use for the rest of it. It weighs almost 300 pounds, and is obviously bulky, even though it is completely disassembled. “1957 CJ5. Total restoration just finished after 5 years. Engine professionally rebuilt with a 30 overbore. Pretty much stock. We put in a modern 12v alternator and starter…Jeep was originally 12v. Seats are original (I reupholstered them). Everything works and it drives as it should. Not a museum quality restoration but pretty darn good. I have a clean title. 100 miles +- on the restoration.”
The body appears in good shape. I doubt this one lasts long.

“1949 Willy’s CJ3A. Runs and drives great. I have an additional motor that came with it when I bought it from a 1960 Jeep, original hood and tow bar. Also, I have an extra set of wheels and tires to go with it. The body is in great shape. Little to no rust. The guy I bought it from wasn’t sure on the year, but said he dropped in an early 1960’s F4-134 F-Head motor. Everything works: four-wheel drive, transmission, lights, speedometer, oil-pressure, etc. Already has the classic license plates.
It is 73 years old, so there’s always room for improvement. The windshield is cracked, no e-brake (I have the housing), gas gauge doesn’t work (needs a new tank sending unit), muffler pipe is cracked and could use a weld, wouldn’t hurt to get a new battery. It’s been converted to a 12V system.
Overall, it’s a great Willy’s that isn’t rusted out. It’s been stored inside. Nice to drive to town or take into the mountains. Awesome hunting rig, just don’t have the time or storage anymore for it. $6,200 OBO. Looking for cash at the moment, no trades.”

“1947 Willys CJ2A. Original flat head 4 cylinder, 3 speed. Vehicle ran well when I garaged it 27 years ago. It has been in a closed garage since 1995 except for the last 18 months. Vehicle is complete but in need of a restoration. I primered it when I originally bought it to discourage rust but there is still some decay in the expected spots. Somehow, I’ve never posted this brochure. I’m sure folks are fairly familiar with it. I’d guess it’s one of the first FC-150 brochures produced, so it likely arrived at some point around January of 1957. It is Form No. W-FC1-CS. It measure 8.5″ x 11″ folded and 25.5″ x 22″ when unfolded.

David recently refurbished his Knox trailer. Not a lot is known about these trailers, so we are still hunting for information on them. Rather than the standard round fenders, David’s came with some angular fenders, which we assumed replaced the stock round fenders.

He writes, “I found it on Facebook Marketplace in Hot Springs Arkansas. Quite a drive, but it looked in decent shape. I didn’t know what it was, other than a vintage utility trailer. I replaced basically everything…axle, hubs, leaf springs, taillights, wiring, wood floor, etc. I sandblasted and painted the body Apple Red to match my Jeep. Replaced the 14 inch wheels with 16 inch. Sprayed the inside with bedliner.”

“1965 Jeep FJ-6A Fleetvan Stepvan Right Hand Drive Delivery Van! No Reserve! Clean Ca title.
Up for sale is a very rare, hard to find Jeep FJ-6A Step Van. Complete. I had big plans to turn this into a Beer Truck for catering events. I have had it for 6+ years and haven’t really done anything with it so it is someone’s else turn.
Previous owner used it for his auction company. He extended the back bumper and stood back there and auctioned things off and then had his wife inside with the service windows to fill out the paperwork.
Engine and transmission is complete but the engine doesn’t look great. I purchased another engine out of a running Jeep that comes with the sale. I planned to swap them out.
