Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. (12/05/2013) Motor turns.
“I have a 1956-57 Jeep Willys FC170 This is a rare forward cab 1 ton 4 wheel drive Willys with a flat bed. Truck has a small block chevy believed too be a 327. Motor turns over with a new battery. Truck has not run in about 7 or 8 years but it did run when parked. No paperwork so bill of sale only. This would make a nice rock crawler or wood getter for someone with more time than me to work on it.
$1500 or possible trade. What do you have to trade…not interested in 215.. but I like my toys…working toys…quad, dual sport, motorcycle, guns, rifles. hunting stuff, truck, good gas millage car, rc toys open to just about anything short of 215.”

“Sold by licensed RI dealer. Beautiful frame off, body off, nut and bolt restoration, many many new parts. Jeep shows to be in very much like new condition. Every system and component has been restored. Minor flaws only. Transmission will need attention however. Borg Warner T-90 gets stuck in second gear. Good opportunity for someone. Originally a Southwestern United States Jeep.”

“I’m selling a Jeep that I prob shouldn’t sell. But…I don’t use it, and time is one thing this father of 2 doesn’t have much of anymore. I would love to see someone buy this and rock crawl the heck out of it! I’ll spend the time showing you the many “mods” and “differences” from every other crawler-Jeep out there, in hopes to show the major work put into this amazing creation!! It has few rivals.

Like Lays Potato Chips, Mike just couldn’t stop with one. He recently picked up the yellowish CJ-2A on the left off of eWillys.
Mike wrotes, “I just finished the shop about a month ago. The picture is a little dark but I had to wait for the last one,(Jeep) to come home. A grandson was out checking his game camera with “His Willy”, I do love to see the grandkids drop by and ask to take a jeep out, they all seem to have their favorites. All ‘46’s except the one ’47, it was the city of Nixa Mo fire engine in its last life.”

Marc found another set of Everglade photos. This time there are multiple CJ-2As with a push-bumper setup. Here’s the previous set of Everglade photos. This seller also has some photos of early swamp buggies, too.
“As described in the title and shown in the scans below, this is a set of three original snapshot photos that were taken around 1950 with diagnostics being the “Kodak Velox Paper” watermarks on the back and in comparison to other dated photos from the same estate. The area is the Florida Everglades somewhere in the vicinity of the Collier and Dade County lines. We don’t know who the uniformed men or the civilians are. The photos are in bright and clean condition though they have corner clipping, tape residue, photo paper curl and even some creasing. They each measure approx. 3.25″ x 4.5″.”

Glenn wrote, “All the Overland Heavy Hitters are here. Cast Iron Charlie Sorensen, came to Willys to escape Henry’s Henchmen, Ward Canaday, last of the old bankrupt Depression crew. I don’t remember Mr. Paris, but Colin and I shared Mr. Bell in the photo of the Al-Toy above.”

For Sale: One of a Kind 1947 Willy’s WWII Military Jeep (CJ-2A)
This Jeep has been carefully rebuilt from the ground up over 3 years by my father, a retired certified ASEA mechanic. Starting from a sandblasted frame, new-off-shelf (N.O.S) parts were used whenever possible. Every piece has been carefully rebuilt and reassembled – you won’t find a cleaner, or more authentic rebuild of a 1947 Willy’s. “I have a 1944 Willys Jeep for sale. Original F head motor that runs, manual transmission. Jeep has no rust on it. I had plans to turn it into a fun project, but I went and joined The United States Marine Corps, now its sitting in my fathers back yard. Has the original front seats, frame has been gone through and fully tubed. Roll cage is still there also. Only thing missing on this jeep is the gauges. * New brake systems: rebuilt master cylinder, wheel cylinders, all new steel lines, flex hoses, and shoes/hardware.
* New distributor, cap, rotor, points, condenser, ignition coil, spark plug wires, spark plugs.
* New Solex carb.
* New wiring harness. ALL NEW WIRING. Everything works the way it’s supposed to.
* Lots of misc.: Horn, new gas tank sump well and all new fuel lines, fuel filter (correct type), frame bump-stops, glove box door data plates, re-packed wheel bearings, new oil filter housing, new black out lights, tail lights, light switch, ALL NEW GAUGES, hand brake works, dash lights are correct, ignition. switch correct, new glass for windshield frame, F-script on most major parts, NEW SHOCKS, & more….
