Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. Very nice 1961 FC170 “rolling frame” (frame, springs & axles, but NO wheels/tires) INCLUDING A TITLE. No rust damage whatsoever…perfect foundation for a clean-up/restoration while you continue to drive your FC170. Closed-knuckle Dana 44 front axle, Dana 53 rear axle (should be stock 4.88 gearing in both). $200
1960 FC150 cab: This is my friend’s “fixxer-upper” cab (I sold him a better-condition cab for his project). Includes doors (not shown). No glass, but I may be able to help with some of that for additional $$$. $300 cab-only. If you’d like to pair it with the FC170 rolling chassis (minor body mount changes would need to occur), or one of the two Super Duty frames I also have listed on CL, price will be a little lower.

“This is an original unmodified military M38a1. (the civilian version was the Cj5)
Runs well. Less than 5,000 miles on rebuilt engine. Stops straight.
Registered. Clean title.
Has original data plates (indicates serial number/date of delivery).
Body is original. No body rot. No additional welding or cutting to the body anywhere. Nothing has been modified, with the exception of added turn signals, third brake light and the Warn all speed overdrive. (That’s an overdrive for each gear….nice to have since these military Jeeps from that era were geared a bit low).
The electrical system is correct at 24v along with the correct distributor, voltage regulator and generator. Springs are original.
Original/stock rims and NDCC tires. Not lifted.
Has 3 year old canvas winter top, no side curtains or doors included.
Has correct pintle trailer hitch.”

(06/28/2013) This looks good. It certainly is a DJ, but I’m less sure that it was a Surrey.
“1960 Willys DJ3A Jeep, in its former life it was a Surrey jeep. It is 2WD. Flat fender jeep. Only 1100 of these were made. Elvis Presley owned one, it is in his museum at Graceland. The engine was rebuilt by Benning Machine shop in Columbus, Ga. There is NO rust, both front floor pans were replaced. They originally had a Surrey top. I do not have the top, frame or original bumpers. I do have the original Wheel covers and front bumper pan. New gas tank, NOS Carter WO Carb, New electronic distributor. Steering does need to be tightened up, a common issue on these old jeeps. Serious buyers only Please, Respond to this Ad or call 706-763-ZeroNineThreeNine, It can be seen in Columbus, Ga.

UPDATE: Sebastian wanted to clarify a few things about this GPW. He writes, “The holes, the slightly bent windshield, and the warped hood, are due to the fact that the jeep was rammed into a tree, shot at, lit on fire and blown up by Paramount Pictures. The hood is temporarily left unlocked to show how close we got it back to its original state. Whereas, for the missing lid on the rear wheel well, that’s how paramount pictures had it.“
“The Vehicle:
Meet Tojo, a 1944 Ford GPW. Let us tell you why Tojo is so special.
Although the production of the GPW reached high numbers, today few jeeps remain in their original state. Most vehicles have been taken apart, destroyed and lost through time. It is becoming more difficult to find original parts, real matching numbers, and correctly assembled jeeps. This particular jeep is unique in that it is entirely made up of original and NOS parts.
Tojo is not your average hobby car, assembled in a garage. This GPW has gone through an intense restoration through professional mechanics, painters and critics. The entire process was handled under the supervision of a World War II veteran, who has driven the jeeps himself. Tojo, is one of a kind.
This 1944 GPW is rare in that it speaks to two types of collectors. In fact, Tojo is a World War 2 antique as well as a Paramount Pictures Hollywood movie star. The vehicle has been featured in several films including, “Hell is for Heroes”, directed by Don Siegel and starring Steve McQueen, as well as “Is Paris Burning?” (screenplay by Gore Vidal and Francis Ford Coppola).
The vehicle includes:
1. Matching numbers on: engine, body and frame.
2. All metal undercoated for maximum corrosion protection.
3. Frame-off restoration using only original and NOS parts.

Tom forwarded some additional pictures he received from the seller. The seller messaged him that he is selling the FC for a friend that recently had a stroke. The seller doesn’t know much about the vehicle.
