Here’s a neat old ad for Willys Overland in French from Quebec, Canada.
Paul Martz, Jr, from Somerset, Pennsylvania, learned he was a father of a boy, hence the new name of the jeep.
“You are bidding on an original 6 X 8 Press Photo of Paul Martz Jr France Father Somerset PA Jeep Paulette News. Small crease on bottom but is otherwise in very good condition. Please see scan for details. Thanks for looking. Photo is dated 1944.”
I thought the paint job on this was interesting. It has a “Customs” insignia in the middle of the windshield. I don’t remember seeing that on other MP jeeps.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was priced at $5500

Buz spotted this running M-38A1 that still has a 24 volt system. It does have some rust.
“1955 willys m38a1 all original 12,000 original miles runs good needs complete restoration. It’s still original 24 volt and lights work. It needs new resivor for brakes because the fluid will leak out it has a little rust in floor pans but not bad at all for age it’s way better than many other jeeps. It has a title and would make a great jeep that’s worth a lot of money. Call or text Matt (803)493five63two for more pics and details”
Sean’s got this combo for sale. There is a crack near the fill hole of the transfer case.
“T-90 transmission and transfercase for sale. This was pulled from a 1943 GPW and was in working order, though it is either from the late 40s or early 50s. Easily shifted into 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, as well as reverse. Transfercase also works and engaged high and low gears. There is a small crack in the transfercase, though it doesn’t seem to affect how it works, and it does not leak oil.
I’m selling this since I recently purchased a correct T-84 transmission for my resto.
Please contact through e-mail or call/text for questions. Thanks.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3900
(02/15/2014) This appears to have an overdrive, too. It looks like a good price.

This August 1957 article in Popular Mechanics shares the story of these water hunters who travel the southwest in a jeep truck. The article is available at Google Books. Or, you can search for an issue on eBay.
This photo shows Joan Rogers sitting in the jeep she used to pass a driving test. She found the jeep ‘great fun’. She lived in London during WWII, serving in the Royal Army Pay Corp before being selected for officer training at the Women’s Royal Army Corps. The website TheMemoryProject shares her story of living through the bombing of London.

If so, try Sal Hepatica. Personally, I know just how that driver feels. This ad can be found in the January, 1951, issue of Country Gentleman. This ad is posted on Flickr, too.
UPDATE: Was listed at $2500. **SOLD**
It has potential, but does not run.
“1963 Jeep Fleetvan does not run, great project vehicle.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $13,500
“What you are looking at is a 1950 Willys M38 (MC) military Jeep. These Jeeps were used during the Korean war era. This Jeep has been motor-pool restored and is in near perfect condition. It has been converted to a 12 volt system for the convenience of finding parts locally. I installed a left hand tail light on the right side to make it easier for other drivers to see for safer driving. Drives great. Original 134L engine runs strong with great oil pressure! Original T-90 transmission shifts like new! Older replacement Body tub. No bondo. All metal. Fuel gauge and e-brake are not operational and could use windshield wiper blades. Four wheel drive works as it should! Tires are Nos mud and snow grips that I found in a warehouse and are in good shape. Clear title. It is a hop in and go piece of U.S. history. All you see on the Jeep goes with the Jeep. I will repair anything that may need replacing for a 6 month period as long as the Jeep and the parts to make the repair are both brought to me to do so.
asking 13,500 OBO will consider cash offers. Also on ebay.
Call/text 601-398-7433 ask for Bryan.”
