Parts or project. Not much value here.
“1949 Willys Jeep Civilian CJ. Project. Either a project or for parts. Motor is out of it but all of the parts are there. Needs a rebuild. Have an extra tailgate. Has new spoke wheels and newer tires. It rolls. I will never have time to build it so it needs a new home. I will consider any offer. Needs new home now.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $300.
Looks like a good price.
“This vehicle is for parts only and body is in rough shape, but has many usable parts.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2750.
It’s a project. Body looks solid.
“This is a 1946 CJ2a that I bought a number of years ago in North Carolina as a father / son project. It has followed me around the country through various jobs and life has gotten in the way of me making any progress. I am now preparing to return to the South East and it’s time to let her go. I have a clean North Carolina title in my name.
She is a solid vehicle that is completely stock in every way. Original Flathead “Go Devil” engine and manual transmission. There is some rust in the body but not enough to require tub or panel replacement. The areas that will need to be addressed are: Floor in storage box under passenger seat, Windshield (right body attachment arm rusted through), and factory stiffening ribs under the floor pan.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200.
This just looks so sad.
“I have a willys overland for sale it’s in pretty good shape and mostly complete. I bought it just like it is to build a mud toy out of but I really don’t wanna ruin it like that. The motors all there but the head is off. I took pictures of the three first rust areas. The rest of it is pretty solid. I do not have a title for it.”
No pics provided.

“1946 cj2a willys project clean tittle. No motor”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $3500.
(03/17/2014) Given the name on the tailgate it is clear this is a Fiberglass Bobcat body. If you look at the first pic you can see the windshield frame sitting on the cowl with only part of the rubber. This builder discovered what I and other discovered. The cowl wasn’t formed quite right to fit the windshield correctly. So, this builder decided only to protect the driver from rain.

“1949 Willys Jeep, on CJ frame. Original axles, sheet metal in very good shape, tub floors completely redone. Fuel cell in back, no tailgate. Roll bar will need to be modified, it was like that when I bought it, just needs to be shortened. Excellent seats with harnesses. Motor is a 302, 4 speed transmission. This is an off-road machine only – no title. Tons of power, tons of fun and everything works – will go through anything/anywhere.

(01/20/2014) Looks solid.
“I have a 1948 willys with a stock 302 mustang motor in it. Motor was rebuilt recently and I just put a new transmission, transfer case, and rebuilt the rear end. I did all of that becuase I was gonna use it for hunting so it was reliable but I want something with a little better fuel mileage. It has brand new tires also. Well give me a call and shoot me a offer. I also have a spare tire and two jerry cans that go with it.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6500.
“This most unusual jeep truck will get you noticed. Take advantage of the fact that we just have to many projects at one time to get to this one. Engine runs, will need carburetor work, but runs strong. Good base for a rat rod! Will listen to all reasonable offers.”
<– Day 36 – Apr. 24th: ‘Tire’d of Reno | OVERVIEW | Day 38 – Apr. 26th: Finding Virginia City –>
Well, it had to happen. After five weeks of mostly great weather, the temperatures dropped and the rain arrived. So, rather than drive to and walk through historic Virginia City, we decided to drive south from Reno and visit the Nevada State Museum, then head to our motel to do some eWillys updates.
On our way to Carson City this morning we passed this unexpected mural tribute on the side of a building to Alice Ramsey:
The Nevada State Museum was a surprising amount of fun. There was lots of Nevada history told in interesting ways, such as a rebuilt ghost ‘town’, a working Carson City coin stamp (there used to be a US Mint in Carson City) , and an underground mine in the building’s basement that was great to explore. Much of the museum of dark, so we didn’t take many photos.
This overloaded stage coach was a neat photo:
Naturally, my wife found an explosive . . .
We both really enjoyed this museum. We left the museum and decided to head to the motel; it was not the best motel experience, but that happens sometimes.
Hopefully the weather will improve for our visit to Virginia City on Saturday.

You’ve likely seen these hill climbers, but this is a good collection of climbing attempts.
UPDATE: Here’s another version of “Here Comes the Jeep” Book.
This has four wheels on the cover and back that turn.
“In excellent condition, all four wheels present and turn well, all pages nice with no writing, binding very good. Satisfaction guaranteed or return for refund.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $650.
Finding an Empire Tractor is a rarity. Carl and I are finishing up a special post about them for eWillys sometime in May.
“Interesting little Empire tractor. These were built from left over Jeep and Willy’s parts from WWII. For the best source of information go to http://www.empiretractor.net – this one is almost complete, the engine, drive train, etc, is there. It’s missing some of the body/panels. Great project or if someone is restoring a 40’s/50’s Jeep or Willy’s, lots of good parts! $650 cash.”
Looks like a great price. It appears to have a rear PTO. May even have floating rear hubs.
“Runs great. Comes with plow, rear mounted winch and custom-made boom. Located on Westport Island. CJ-2A.”
UPDATE: Was $4000. **SOLD**
Nice truck for the price.
“1960 Willys flatbed pickup 4 wd. Has mid 70s 232 6 cyl AMC engine, rest of the drive train is original. Newer brakes, drums, and master cycinder. Starts good, runs and drives, and stops like a 60s truck. Doors shut good and windows work.”
Looks like it could be a VEC. Might be a good price. Has pre-black-plate plates.
“Here it is! An unmolested flat fender Jeep. Runs like a swiss watch- flat head four cylinder. Hood, fenders, windshield, tailgate and vertical body panels are GOOD. Floor pan could use some patching in places. No top- who needs it? I only drive it on the weekends in good weather. I have a ton of spare parts including an extra transmission. Front brakes were upgraded to 11″ drums a couple years ago and this dude will now actually STOP when you want. Military style tires. Have a tow bar for it, an old (very cool) service manual that actually tells you how to fix stuff. Oh and it has a PTO that kinda works but I have nothing to run off it. If you’ve been looking for an original reliable old flatty this is it. No lift kit, no V-8 stuffed in it. Pretty much the way it was built (except upgraded to 12V and the brakes). Won’t last long. I’m not really dying to sell it so no low ball offers. No 215 or other crap- you’ll need cash for this. I will be able to show this to people on the weekend, 4/26-27. If you’re interested shoot me an e-mail. No- the dog doesn’t go with it….”
Engine isn’t running, but jeep appears in great condition and has a Willys Overland hardtop.
“1946 Willys Jeep Body in good shape, new tires, new paint, motor did run not sure whats wrong could be something simple. Looking to trade for UTV Mule. Call or text I may not see your email”
It runs. May be worth a look.
“I have a 1957 Jeep FC 150. Does run. Don’t have time to work on. Not all rusted out, does have rust, box is rough. Open to sale or trade. Does have a snow plow that goes with it. Looking for fire arms, loader tractor, something useful. Not really looking for cars or trucks. Thanks for looking.”
Looks real nice. Not sure the rear bumper quite goes with everything else.
“This 1953 Jeep Willys Station Wagon (Overland) has 30k miles, runs and looks good. It has had extensive restoration and repair work including a recent carb rebuild, new shocks all around, rebuilt brakes including all wheel cylinders and lines, new tie rod ends, vacuum wiper motor rebuild, new wiring, fluid change, removal of all rust inside, outside and underneath with repaint to a dark sage green, close to the original color. Wooden flooring restored. Engine is the original F-head 4 cylinder that runs perfect with only 30k on the odo. Trans is 3-speed with high and low range and 4-wheel drive and locking hubs up front, a rugged off-road set up. The body has been lifted about 3.5 inches and the tires and 15 inch wheels are new with good tread. It is located just north of The Woodlands (north of Houston off I-45) and can be inspected and driven by appointment.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6000.
Looks like a fun parade or run-about jeep. Drain holes appear filled.
“1946 Willys Army Jeep. Original motor and transmission, runs good, 49K miles. Tires are in good shape plus 4 extra. $6,000.00.”
