“I am selling my one of kind 1942 Ford GPW with a 1951 M100 Trailer. Sold as a package deal only. I did a complete frame off restoration of this jeep and trailer in 2004. The paint is a little faded, but pretty much everything is good to go. The engine and transmission where missing when I got the jeep, so I installed a 1985 4.3 liter Chevy V6 with a 4 barrel carburetor and a later model Military M38 T-90 transmission. This Jeep has lots of power and is a blast to drive! The transmission does pop out of second gear sometimes. I just put $1200.00 worth of new tries and wheels on the jeep last August. I kept the jeep as close to original as possible, except for the engine and transmission. It was titled as a 1948 Willys Jeep when I bought it, so that is the way it is still titled. I am asking $9500.00 cash for it and the trailer. Email this post for more info.”
UPDATE: Price dropped to $2000.

This is missing the radiator, but it looks solid.
“What you are looking at is a REALLY cool opportunity for a rat rod, or a restoration, or a neat little delivery vehicle for your auto parts biz. This is a 2 wheel drive Willy’s DJ-3a dispatch Jeep. lots of people think they were for the post office, but they were generic delivery vehicles. lots of small businesses in the 50’s and 60’s ran these.
The Jeep is relatively complete with column shift etc. It is missing the radiator. The motor etc is a little bit mystery, as this Jeep hasn’t been registered since the 70’s
DMV said not to do anything as far as registration until your ready to put on the road. Which means NO TAXES!!!”
Matt found this interesting blog about a couple of guys who wanted to revisit some of the adventures of the Long Range Desert Group in North Africa. They restored two jeeps and planned to cover 1200 miles.
They wrote, “For two weeks we shall re-enact many of the daring escapades of the legendary Long Range Desert Group in a pair of original 1943, World War Two, Jeeps. Our expedition, limited to just eight people, will drive through the stunning dunes of the Great Sand Sea. Explore the Gilf el Kebir, a plateau the size of Switzerland. Camp under the stars a million miles from the nearest town. Stand in the Cave of the Swimmers, immortalised in the film, The English Patient. Live for that Ice Cold in Alex moment as we celebrate in exactly the same bar as they did 70 years ago. This is no cruise along the Mediterranean coast, but the real thing, sweat, steam and fatique, but with a fully equipped logistics team on hand to cook, wash up and guide us through some of the most beautiful desert scenery on the planet. “

Check out what’s left of the jeep behind the nice looking jeep. Must have been a story there . . .
Not sure how useful this is, but here it is.
“Here’s a nice bulkhead for a GP. I know a lot of the panels are reproduced but you need the cowl section in order to have a complete tub. This piece is in excellent condition with only a couple of holes for extra gauges that can be easily patched. It’s not often you find this piece up for sale. Pick up preferred unless you make your own shipping arrangements.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $125.
