“We have here a good running solid 50 year old Willys Jeep. Original miles 20,000 was used on farm and stored inside until I bought it 12 years ago. I have never put plates on it and only used it to plow my own driveway. I have had it stored out side the whole 12 years but never on the road in salt. I am selling due to knee surgury and unable to work the clutch in the small cab thus I had to get a full size truck to plow with. This 4 cyl Jeep plowed better that the full size truck with the V-8 engine. Would like to see this go to a new home and be restored – the old truck deserves restoration – or just to go ahead and plow for another 50 years.”

Powder coated Dana 44 rear, Dana 30 front, and Dana 300 Transfer case, are geared for the new tires installed on the polished aluminum wheels. A complete new power disc brake system is still in the boxes. New parts include a new fuel cell, fuel line, wiring harness, body mounts and suspension parts. All the parts for this project cost over $17,000, not including the powder coating, windshield frame and original front grill. I don’t even want to think about how much was spent on powder coating parts. I will offer delivery within a reasonable distance. Call for a list of all the new parts included with this offer. UPDATE:  Here’s some before and after pics from when Jim owned this jeep.  This is one of Jim’s vehicles that he rebuilt.  This is likely no longer for sale.

This includes a roll cage that can be bolted in or taken out (as it is in the picture).

case. Full locker axles front and back. Has lock out hubs. Yes I’m sure it can out climb a Billygoat.
Beautiful full canvas top with canvas doors. Full roll cage that can bolt in or out. Working tailgate with chains. 16 inch wheels with beautiful 7.50-16 agressive 10 ply tires that really make the look. Fuel and water cans on the back. Axe and shovel also. High lift jack on the front bumper. I have a complete new stock exhaust system not installed yet. Nothing really wrong with the exhaust that is on it now though….”

I ran across this ad for brand new corner diamond plating.  The seller is charging $58 for the pair, plus shipping.  My initial search suggests this is a great price.

I haven’t seen many dually CJ-5s.

“1969 CJ-5 Jeep Dually, 4cyl, 3sp unit with a dana 70 rearend. Jeep originally had a trencher unit mounted to it. The trencher is long gone, sorry. Jeep has low mileage and runs well. New rebuilt carb, recent tires, new battery, new brakes (currently a little spongy, will bleed before auctins end), heater(aftermarket), wiring harness (painless), etc. Not perfect, but a nice driver or property/Town vehicle. It has a clear VT registration and has been on the road recently. Body in very good condition, some small dents, coarse body work and paint. Frame is straight and clean and retains its full side plate reinforcements from the trencher. Drivetrain all sounds and looks good with a few leaks. Motor runs well, but smokes on start up and a little bit when running …”

This is a good looking CJ — must be those rims.  Sounds like price is negotiable, partly due to a possibly bad bearing up front.

“1961 Jeep Willys CJ5 for sale. 221cu in V6. 4 speed Muncie transmission. Brand new Warn Overdrive. Low gears-great for off-roading. 4×4 works well. In 4×4 low you could get out and walk next to it. There is some noise from the front transmission bearing. Mechanic told me it’s about $500 to fix. I will take this in to consideration when negotiating price. Motor is strong. Speedo stopped working about 300 miles ago-cable broke. Comes with bikini top, half doors, full soft top, full soft doors. Has original bumper tow hitch and a Warn 1000 winch on the bumper. Tires are in good shape w/ spare on back. Carburator recently rebuilt. New radiator/thermostat/intake manifold gaskets/head gaskets. Just needs a little t.l.c. Make me an offer. Come test drive it. The CJ-3B for sale is a Non Running Jeep that’s a bit rough.  It is for sale on MyJeepSpace.com.  This was put up for sale September 09.  I assume it is still for sale.

Below the images of the jeep for sale is the owner’s collection of old jeeps (+ one of his dad’s jeeps).  The owner lives on a ranch in Eastern Oregon and loves running around it in his old 4x4s. It looks like he had a wonderful barn for storing and working on them!

Rick asked me to post these pics of his 1955 CJ-5 that he has put up for sale. The VIN is 5754811227.  Rick also sent me a couple of rebuilt postal jeeps that I’ll highlight tomorrow.

He wrote, “1955 Willys CJ5 completely restored 2 years ago. Everything is new or rebuilt. All original except seats, and carb & air cleaner. I have the originals and they are perfect condition. “Needs some T.L.C. Needs a bigger radiator in the front. It had a radiator in the rear tried to eliminate and add one in the front. But it was not big enough. It needs a front drive shaft. Transfer case pop’s out of two wheel drive sometimes but never pops out of four wheel. Extra features include a high performance chevy 350 motor, dana 44 axels front and rear. 4 wheel disc brakes, 373 gears, four inch sky jacker spring lift. Newer CJ5 frame. The jeep has been put together from the frame up with in 500 hundred miles including new ball joints, tie rods, motor, transmission,transfer case and axels, 22 gallon fuel cell. The jeep initially was built for sand drags but was never finished from previouse owner. Had sat for five years due to previouse owner going into the navy. Never been driven on the roads since built, but has been to the dunes.”

There’s been some mods to this.

“Jeep has brand new 35″ pro comp xtreme rock crawling tires. New front steering stabilizer. Dana 44 rear end with detroit locker with new axle bearings and seals. Front has new ball joints. Has soft top and bikini top. Has cj5 doors that do fit. Al new gauges and they all do work correctly. Dana 20 transfer case and granny low 4 speed tranny. Chevy 283 thats ben built up. Has Holley Model 1850 carb. At idle it has around 60 psi of oil pressure. Runs and drives great. Jeep is in great shape. Can send pics upon request. 812-664-8279”

“IT DOES NOT HAVE POWER STEERING, BUT IT IS MANAGEABLE EVEN LOADED WITH GUYS AND GEAR.  I HAVE USED A LOT OF HI RACK JEEPS AND THIS IS THE BEST ONE I HAVE OPERATED.  IT IS JUST BUILT RIGHT.  IT IS COMFORTABLE AND THE PERFECT SIZE.  THE TOP HOLDS 2 BIG GUYS, FOUR GUNS AND EXTRA STORAGE.  THE QUAIL RACK HOLDS 2 GUYS AND 2 GUNS.  THERE IS A BASKET IN THE MIDDLE FOR SHELLS OR A COOLER.  THE TITLE IS NOT TRANSFERRED INTO MY NAME,IT IS THE ORIGINAL 78 TITLE, BUT HAS BEEN SIGNED BY PREVIOUS SELLER.  I DID NOT BOTHER TRANSFERRING INTO MY NAME BECAUSE I HAD NO INTEREST IN PUTTING IT ON THE ROAD. IT WOULD TAKE SOME TIME TO GET THE TITLE STRAIT. TWO BILLS OF SALES WILL BE INCLUDED. THE SPEEDO DOSENT WORK ALONG WITH SOME GAUGES. THIS JEEP HAS NOT BEEN TAGGED SINCE 1990.
