“WILLYS JEEP CJ 2 A & ID #34134—This is a retired fire department Jeep probably used for grass fires. I removed the front platform and seat as you can see. The rear extension is also removable. Odometer shows 53,000 miles. NO TITLE or ENGINE everything looks original. $1275.00 CASH buys it. I was told that it probably is a 1946, but you decide. Thanks.”
UPDATE: Was $8500. **Status Unknown**
Looks solid.
“1946 Willys CJ2A, excellent mechanical condition, lots of work done over the years. Great fun driving and hunting over the years, hate to part with it but just don’t use it anymore. Must see and drive to appreciate.”
Looks nice.
“I have a body off restoration M38a1 Jeep and trailer parade ready. This is the Marine Corps version with full fording gear. The only thing not restored on this vehicle is the engines internals runs like a top but does burn oil. This vehicle will be on display at the MVPA nationals from June 25 till June 28 at the Kentucky Expo center. This Jeep is immaculate in every detail comes with many extra parts including etra engine block, heads, rear ends ,and transmission and transfer case.Biggest reason I am selling is due to the fact that this vehicle has a top speed of 45 to 50mph and around here you would be run over at that speed on highway.I can be contacted by phone or text also at 4one9six0two4zero33.Where i was from in Ohio there were enough 55mph roads to travel to many shows and parades but down here it has to be trailered for your own safety.Bulldog on hood not included.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1200
Looks good for the price.

“For sale is this unique 1962 Jeep FC-170. It is one of two Hi Rail service trucks bought new by the legendary Green Bay & Western Rail Road in 1962. My grandfather who worked for the rail road bought the pair when they were taken out of service. This truck is a restoration in progress and needs completion. The front and rear cab corners, floors, drivers side door and bed have been replaced and were removed from a southern Kansas truck. The flat head six starts and runs good,3 speed trans and four wheel drive work good as well. Also included is a complete rolling chassis that has been blasted and painted and has a rebuilt flat head six mounted in it, some new parts and all parts removed from Kansas parts truck. For the rail road enthusiasts the truck still wears its original paint scheme based off the GB&W locomotives of that era”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $5000.
It’s got an interesting windshield. Maybe a GPW windshield that’s had the sheet metal removed?

I was busy all day on the jeep. Progress was steady and the unusual lack of swearing suggests it was a successful day! I will have pics and a report in the next couple of days.
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with no-kneed, no commercial yeast breads over the past few weeks. Right now I’m using a strain of sourdough from the San Francisco area. Besides the sourdough, there’s only salt, water and flour. I bake at 455 degrees in a thick ceramic backing dish with a lid.
So far, the results have been great! Check out that last batch here:
I’m going to ‘grow’ a few more starters and try some more complex combinations of flour. I will also be trying a dutch oven in our regular oven to see if that produces a slightly different flavor from the ceramic baking dish. I’ve just ordered both of Chad Robertson’s books as a happy-birthday-to-me gift (bday is later this week) to help expand my repartoire: Tartine Bread & Tartine Book No 3. Stay tuned!
Dennis shared these photos of his ex-wife’s grandfather, Tom Provateare. He’s pretty sure these were taken while Tom was stationed in Germany.
