Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. I stumbled upon a website that celebrates old articles from the town of Walla Walla, Washington, just forty-five minutes east of me. At some point the local newspaper ran a series of articles titled “Heap of the Week”. However, one week they changed the title to “Jeep of the Week”.
This old photo from the South Dakota Department of Agriculture shows a CJ-2A with a 100 gallon tank mounted in the rear at or near Custer State Park. It appears there may be another tank across the cowl. Unfortunately, the photo isn’t very large.

For sale is a WW2 1943 Ford GPW delivered in June of that year. It is a ground up restoration. Rebuilt engine, transmission, axles, brakes, new wiring, F bolts throughout, Ford safety glass, new Beachwood Canvas. Engine matches frame, a full show quality restore. Everything Repaired or replaced. Comes with all British mods, racks, rifle clips, spare mount, take off steering wheel, trailer outlet, pumpkin spot lite and road markers, Jerry cans and tools. Oil can, crank handle, tool roll with tools. 150 miles on rebuilt engine/trans. Runs and drives great, all gauges work. Heads turn when take her out! You can drive her on the highway 60+, no shakes, or climb the mountains and back roads with ease. She will definitely be a winner at the car shows! This was the last year that Willys made Jeeps before selling to Kaiser. Search the web and you will not find another as top notch as this one. I am a retired, disabled vet and I have loved this Willys; I would like for her to go to someone who truly appreciates how rare she is and that will take care of her. The reason I am selling my Willys is due to my health.”

Engine ran when stored. Seller has the A1s confused with the M-38s. Ford only produced 2,135 M-38s in Canada. Ford produced many more M-38A1s in three lots through 1971: M-38A1 CDN, M-38A1 CDN2, M-38A1 CDN3.
“1953 Willy M38A1 CDN military jeep. This jeep is very rare, only 2,135 A1’s made by Ford Motor Company in Canada. This jeep needs some work, but when your done it will diffidently be a show stopper and collectors dream come true. The engine ran before it was last parked in storage. Still have the data plate attached showing serial number. Only serious buyer and price is firm.”

has PTO option on it but has never been used.
new points, coil, rotor, condenser…….Great runner, fun driver!
has a temporary remote gas tank, original needs cleaning.
Brakes work but need work
This has been used at our hunting cabin since 1987 but has sat the last few years.
Was turned over by hand to ensure nothing was seized before running again.
Would be a great restoration project or use as is.
DOES have a TITLE and could be street registered

“1962 CJ-3B Jeep for sale. This was a project I never got around to and it must go. It is called the high hood model because of its design to fit the larger hurricane engine introduced in this model. It is in rough shape and will require major body panel replacement to restore. It does have the complete drivetrain (engine, transmission, transfer case, etc.), however it hasn’t ran since I have owned it. It will at least make a great parts Jeep or the bones for a rock crawler!”

It looks like it could have low miles (seller reports 13,500 miles). Except for the swapped gauges it looks like a pretty stock and solid jeep. Sounds like you’ll have to show up with cash to get this one.
