Nothing fancy here, but looks like a great vintage jeep for the price. It also has an old school power inverter.

“V8 swapped Willie’s. 4×4 4 speed manual, Top is sagging, has working winch, cool headers. Starts and runs nice, Price is 7,500$. Unknown body miles, 53,000 miles on gm short block. ”
Nate refurbed this M-38. You can see more pics and contact him through his website (got to bottom of the website page and click on “NOTE”): https://1951m38.godaddysites.com
“Zero rust, clean frame, extremely smooth running M38. Every inch of this old Jeep has been gone over and been cleaned and serviced. 9 out of 10 mechanically with original data plates, and Army stencils. There are 47,851 miles on the restored odometer.
This original L134 runs and starts perfectly. Serviced by a new fuel system, Carter W-O carburetor, intake/exhaust manifold, radiator, and oil filter, this engine runs smooth and strong. A new 12V alternator and all new electrical system runs the lights and gauges.
You will not find any rust on the frame or body of this well-kept M38. Lots of old red “barn paint” was removed to reveal the original olive drab paint. With a little work, this body will be ready for new paint, or you can enjoy this Willys with authentic character.”
It runs and drives. It needs a few things completed. It’s worth a look.

“1946 Jeep Willys CJ2A Unknown mileage In the past was used on a farm and kept in a barn. Runs and drives. 4×4 works good. It has been converted to 12 volt system. I have a clean title and license plate I have put on a new high torque starter, NGK coil, spark plugs and wires, battery, fuel filter, etc. Comes with some old parts, 2 universal seats, the original skinny wheels with 3 military tires. It is a 3 speed manual. Needs some small things and some body work but its all there!! May consider trades on other 4x4s Make me an offer!”
It could use some love, but these Safari tops aren’t something I see for see very often (more info). I’m guessing this was made for a CJ-3A or DJ-3A, but may fit a 2A.

“Dam good jeep has no rust posting for family member”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $6600.
Has some hat channel rot, but the floors are supposed to be solid. The windshield has quite a bit of rot.
“1951 Willys MC (M38) radio jeep. runs, drives, stops. Has an all new brake system. Engine is still 24V. Underhood batery box, air filter, and crossover tube not pictured but included. We took this jeep on a 250mi trip last fall and it did great. Front floors are solid and functional but hat channels underneath are in poor shape. All other rust is in pictures, mostly the passenger side. This is a good jeep to drive & enjoy as is, but would aslo make a good restoration candidate. The hood numbers are still legible and i uncovered markings which show that it was a radio jeep, with an AN/GRC-7 radio. Civilian gas tank in pics is not included, neither is the battery under the hood. Clean title in my name. Located in SW Indiana”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $350.
Steve passed this engine along. It may be worth a look.
“Here is a running jeep motor I believe around 1962
That was used to power my Ford 821 tractor.
I removed the motor a few years ago when I began
a multi year project to restore it from a back hoe / loader
to a 841 tractor. The engine was running fine however, the
front engine pulley was not capable of running the pump
on the front end loader. It has been sitting inside my garage
ever since. The engine looks like the engine in my 62 Willys
Jeep CJ-5. It has the skid plate under the oil pan.
I cannot locate the timing cover as it was removed many years ago.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** .. price dropped to $6k before it sold.
(12/26/2022) The price includes the trailer.

“Let me say, I know this price is probably high. I sold this 20 plus years ago. It was my stepdads and I found it right after he died and bought it back. I paid too much. I am open to reasonable negotiations. That being said it is a good running driving CJ. ‘51 CJ3a, has Buick V6, 3spd with overdrive, hydraulic clutch setup, elec. fuel pump with fuel cell. Great Jeep with aftermarket buckets. Have a full black top with doors but windows went bad and have spots inside them. Needs bodywork and paint. Body has some rust in usual spots but frame is fine.”
Thanks to Illinois Larry, I discovered that I had only posted one of my issues of the Jeep News from the 1970s. It’s not clear to Larry (who has 10 issues) or I (who have 14 issues) just how many were produced, but between our collection, there were at least 15 issues published.
Here’s an overview of covers of what I have, followed by a photo of what Larry has that I don’t. Strangely, many of these lack the published year, so figuring out when some of these issues were published is tricky:
This is the cover page from what we believe is Larry’s Winter Fall-Winter 1981-1982 issue.
FALL 1973 Issue: This is the earliest issue I have and may be one of the first ones, if not the first.
Looks in good shape. Note the ventilating windshield.

“1951 Jeep Willys · Suv · Driven 27,800 miles Very good condition must see to Appreciate”
This was a Navy jeep at one time.
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/659261302518785
“This jeep was a us Navy CJ3A JEEP used for towing aircraft around on base and aboard aircraft carriers. It has 65,000 miles and the paint isn’t great but the body only has a couple of small rust spots in the floor. The engine and transmission have had a recent rebuild. It runs and drives like new. It has a clean NJ title. It needs someone who will do the body work, paint it Navy gray and appreciate a classic military jeep. This one only requires minor body work and a Gray coat of paint.”
Seems solid.

“This right here is a 1964 Jeep CJ-3B (4WD). The vehicle is a barn find. It has 43k original miles. It has a Buick V6 motor in it which is original to the vehicle. The original color on this Jeep is Spruce Green Tip. The top is in good condition. Floorboards are in good condition. Frame is in great shape. This is a great project vehicle—it has a RUSTY Exterior. **NO TITLE**. I don’t negotiate over the phone.”
This has some updates, including a V8. It could use some body work finished.
