“Recently removed from a Willys Jeep project that I am parting out. All internals in great shape except for the special lock washer, and the end of the 6 spline shaft. The washer and special C clip are available from Advanced Adapters in their installation kit. The end of the 6 spline shaft is serviceable, just needs dressed up. Brass syncro ring and dogs and springs all look good. Planetary gears spin free with no noticeable wear. Original vintage Jeep and International Scout All range overdrive, just needs the washer replaced and installed on your Dana Spicer 18. I did not disassemble the planetary housing any further than is depicted…If you want me to dig deeper into the assemble I can but I don’t think it necessary. This was removed from a Ford 289, top loader 3 speed and Spicer 18 that came out of a running Willys.”

“1943- Sicilian refugees stand by as U.S. 7th Army vehicles pass during record advance from Caltanissetta to Palermo.”
How about this odd jeep-related item. Priced at $30.
“Unusual vintage trophy of a U.S. Army Jeep mounted to a wooden base awarded for safe driving. The metal plaque on front of the base is engraved “50,000 Accident Free Miles – PHILEMON A. REDMON – Salt Lake City Recruiting Battalion – Feb 84 – Jun 87″. The model jeep is cast in a bronze finished metal with excellent detail. The trophy stands almost 5″ tall on a 4″ square base, and weighs 1.75 lbs. The underside of the base has the original sticker from the maker, the PAC Agency from San Francisco. Whether you collect Militaria , vintage trophies or jeeps, add this one to your display. ”
Joe alerted me to the sale of this Fire Jeep through Sotheby’s. Joe thought it was used as en emergency vehicle at the Mrs. Paul Mellon estate (4,000 acres) in Upperville, VA west of Washington, DC.

UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $2500.
(10/25/2014) Runs and drives.
“1963 Willys CJ-6. Kaiser manufactured. 4 cylinder, 3 speed. Runs and drives good. Odometer says 31280, may well be original. Has rust in fenders and some in the floor. Has some bondo and patch work. Has a nice Bestop soft top. I read they made 50,000 of these versus 10x as many CJ-5s. The CJ-6 has a 20″ longer wheelbase, otherwise they are the same. Predecessor to the CJ-8 scrambler and the LJ wrangler, this is the original. I got it to restore, but have a few other projects going. I am also selling two a Willys CJ-2As.”

“1949 Willys Jeepster, 6 cylinder, original owner, red convertible”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $1000
(08/18/2014) It is a project.
“I have in my possession a 1950 willys cjv-35 (no title), these are a rare military jeep, 1000 of these were made in 1950 for the navy they are a military jeep they are a combination of the MB, M38 and CJ-3A jeeps
There are less than 100 of these left that are in conditions ranging from restored to a pile of parts
I also have a motor for it the motor is missing a few parts but I believe I have all the parts for it, the motor was running when pulled but was burning some oil and probably needs to be rebuilt (it is not the factory motor).these jeeps were designed to be water proof i have the air filter, oil filter and cross tube. the front and rear differentials, hood, and windshield have all been under cover until last week when i assembled the jeep. The front differential has new axels. The body has some pretty bad rust but the sides are in good shape.
The steering column is not factory
with it comes a 1947 cj-2a frame with front and rear differentials, the frame is in decent shape and has been under a tarp for the last few years.
I would love to see this restored, unfortunately I need to sell these to help pay for school and I have another project that takes priority. please contact me with any questions!
i get home about 5:00pm weekdays and am free on weekends”
A photo in the 1947 issue of Chicago Tribune shows the Brits must have gotten bored, so they started jumping jeeps with motorcycles.
Here’s a unique bit of Willys-Overland literature. It’s actually a poster.
“Very neat and unusual 1949 poster and postcard from Willys-Overland Motors. The poster is trying to get dealerships to come on board with their lineup of vehicles. The postcard is for sending in to get setup as a dealer. This rare poster measures 22″WX17″T. There is one small tear measuring about 1/2″ on one of the creases of the poster. This would be an excellent addition to any collection.”
