“1956 Willys 1 Ton pickup truck ( the only year with this grill slot combination), sits on BF Goodrich Mud terrain 37”x12.5×17. With a bit of body lift, this beast would clear the 42″ Swampers / TSL / Irock or Pitbull tires. Was fully restored 8 years ago & made to haul a 5th wheel across Canada, with a 6.2 GM diesel & new ton housing. 4WD Automatic.
Has the original tail gate with the Stamp Willy logo, these are getting rare… Everything works & ready to go on the road.
Setup for electric brakes & trailer hitch..”
UPDATE: Was $3000. **Status Unknown**
“Hunters and outdoors man heads up on a great flat fender Willy’s Jeep. Motor 283 Chevy small block, 4 speed aluminum transmission, bikini soft top, original windshield, tail gait, running gear, axles, transfer case, under seat fuel tank, even has the original bill of sale from 1948. Lots of original parts come with it. Fiberglass removable hood, 33-1250 tires, light bar, and tow bar. Ran in the Big Nasty a few years back and placed 6th. Set up for climbing or off road, has 4 point racing seats and bench, full role cage. This is a goat and will climb more than it should. Has been in some extreme places and preformed like you would expect an old Willy’s to. Won’t last long so jump on it while it is still being offered. Only reason I am selling is we have 2 of them and this is the one I chose to sell.
Would consider trades for combinations of Cash along with 4 wheeler/ATV’s kids and adults, 250 4 stoke dirt bike, Tractor, Backhoe or large RV Camper with Bunk Beds and preferably a slide out. Or other outdoor toys of equal value, what do you have?”
UPDATE: Was $4000. **SOLD**
(09/10/2014) Runs and drives.
“Selling my 1953 Willy’s Jeep, its a CJ3B first year of the high hood model. This jeep starts right up, drives all day, its not a corvette but it will climb over one! It does have the original motor and transmission, transfer case, most of the wiring is original. This jeep is more than 60 years old so it does need some TLC, it needs brake line and/or the brake master cylinder fixed and a couple of the gauges (which are all original) also need some attention, needs new windshield wipers (front glass is near perfect) and driver side mirror. There is very little rust and no cancer that I have found. It has two new tires on the rear and comes with a spare carburetor and a new carburetor kit for it. New battery, original oil filter etc, etc, etc.
Has a variety of new parts.

“This is a rare Willys M38A1 Marine Corp Radio Jeep. A limited quantity of these vehicles produced with this radio setup. The radio is still in the dash.
The body of the Jeep is in very good condition. There is some minor rust spots on the hat channels. The Jeep is in good running condition. It is still 24 volt and all original under the hood, has a new canvas top and canvas seats and is road worthy ready.
This vehicle did not receive a show restoration, but it is a great driver. This is a turn key and drive away Jeep. If you are looking for a get in and go Jeep then this is the one for you.
Please give us a call or drop us an email if you are interested.”

It runs and drives, but needs brakes.
“I have a rare 1973 Jeep CJ6 that I am offering for sale. I purchased it as a project, but soon thereafter, found another Jeep that needed my funds. It is pre-smog, and has no back fees, and has never been in the DMV system. I believe the miles to be original, as this Jeep was used as a hunting vehicle on a ranch here in Ca. It has a running straight 6 engine, and a 3 speed manual transmission, with a working Dana 20 transfer case. It has a Dana 30 front and Dana 44 rear axle. Included also is a spare D20 transfer case and driveshafts from a previous build.
The Jeep starts and drives, but has NO BRAKES, and will need to be trailered or towed. It cannot be street driven at this time.”
This article from the June 1955 issue of Willys News shares the brief story of Frank Tolbert’s 5,000 mile trip around the state of Texas. Accompanying Frank were Frank, Jr., and a CJ-5 then named Lola.
I have found a series of articles published over successive weeks in the Dallas Morning News about their trip. However, I have to sign up and pay a fee to use it. Anyone have free access? I would like to see what the article say before having to buy anything.

“1957 Willy’s wagon, 4X4, 4spd manual transmission, flat head 4 cylinder engine. Body is in great shape with no major rust issues, no holes missing parts or cheap replacement panels found. Frame is solid and straight. Interior has been completely redone about 5 years ago and looks great. New wiring harness throughout entire wagon. All glass replaced around the same time as interior. New wheel cylinders, brakes, and spring kits. Engine runs smooth with no noises. Transfer case and hubs work as they should. Trans has a bad synchro in 2nd gear, you can still drive just pops out of 2nd when you let off of the gas. Has stump pulling granny gear transfer case gearing. No noises or rattling from the rears. All around solid wagon for someone to completely restore or drive as is. Asking $6,000.00 for the Willy’s which is below collector market value for the current condition. You would be hard pressed to find a classic in as good of condition as this one for the same money! Must see in person, give me a call so we can arrange a time,”

(11/01/2014) “Runs and drives good, put another $10,000 into it or run it like it is,
email or text for more info, would make a good quick little winter project if you are a perfectionest! Throw out bearing is starting to wind a little when clutch is in, easy $150 fix, seats need reupolstering, no rust holes anywhere frame is solid, does have some putty in body. But all in all for a 67 year old jeep its in pretty good condition. What you see in the pics is what you get, no doors and a bikinni top. I have ran it the last two summers, it goes great and is a blast to drive!”
