(12/01/2015) It’s a project or parts jeep.
“Bought the Jeep about 6 months ago wanting a new project and I just don’t have time for it. The frame is straight and solid with minor surface rust, the drivetrain is complete. Hurricane 4 cyl (does not rotate), Dana 44 offset rear, Dana 18 transfer case and and the Dana 25 (maybe 27?) front axle, all original. The tub is more or less shot, I was planning to chop it up and make it into a hot rod of sorts but a full restoration would almost certainly require a new tub. The Jeep comes with a good amount of extra parts I had collected to begin the project. The jeep has NO TITLE, the vin plate on the hood is long gone and these things didn’t have the vin stamped anywhere else, but that being the case, once you’ve built it as you desire the DMV can come out and look it over for any vin numbers to ensure it isn’t stolen and then issue a new vin for you to title it under.
Extra parts:
-Dana 20 transfer case in excellent condition
-Dana 44 narrow-track rear from a CJ-5, centered housing, in great shape, unsure of gear ratio.
-Matched pair of narrow-track axles, AMC 20 rear and Dana 30 front from a CJ-5, complete with brakes and steering linkage. Great shape, unsure of ratio.
-GM SM465 4 speed transmission, could use a rebuild but would need to have the mainshaft swapped to mate to the Dana 20 anyway, so a rebuild should be done in the process.
-NP205 transfer case that came with the transmission when I picked it up, not appropriate for this build, but it’s yours if you want it.
– CJ5 Frame that needs to be straightened”

Perhaps this CJ-5 was the first fringed jeep? The photo was published in the February 1956 issue of Willys News.
The object in front of the jeep is a nibbled out haystack.
“WWII PHOTO= PVT. HERING SCRAPING MUD FROM HIS MB GPW JEEP 1944.”
It’s supposed to be a vintage
“GORGEOUS FRAMEABLE ART PRINT measures APPROXIMATELY 13 by 23-Inches and makes a GREAT GIFT!
NEARLY 40 Years Old and in VERY GOOD CONDITION except for ONE SMALL TEAR, NEATLY REPAIRED with CLEAR TAPE; VIRTUALLY INVISIBLE on FRONT, as shown.
SHIPPED IN MAILING TUBE.”
Marc spotted this jeep. For some reason the larger version had an unusual overlay on it so it’s not very clear.
“U.S. MARINE CORPS PEEP (MB GPW JEEP) BLITZES MOSQUITO BRIGADE GUADALCANAL 1943.”
I can’t vouch for the history of this, but it is interesting.
“I have had this for several years. I deduced it was likely a pin made to sell by people in Holland to the liberating armies or others. There was little money so this was a home grown venture. Recently I found similar JEEPS in Ceramic said to be made in France showing the Liberation date of France. I have also seen other keepsakes that show Jeeps etched in wood and other materials. A collector friend finally ID’ed this pin and it is what I suspected. He has a couple in his personal collection. Apparently there were some sold few years back on e-bay but he thought they were knock offs maybe made from tin. None of those had HOLLAND on the back and were pretty poorly made. The dimensions are1and 3/4 inch wide and 1 and 1/4 inch tall. This pin was in a Paratroopers grouping. Any soldier could have purchased one so no connection to the Airborne just that that is where I found this one.
Apparently JEEP Collectors as well as Military Collectors prize these little pins especially when they appear to be vintage 1945 produced examples. Some of the prices that these have sold for are very impressive. I set the buy it now at the best price I was told has been realized for one of these pins. Please bid what you think its worth but you likely will not see too many around. I will look at all”
Andy spotted this neat keychain that sold on eBay for $23. It features a Rural Willys Wagon from Brazil.
