A May 1957 article from Willys News reported that the first FC-150 to Alaska was sent by plane. Unfortunately, to fit on the plane it had to be disassembled. Look how close that cab is to not fitting. Someone in Alaska sure wanted that FC badly!

1944? MB? Rancho Cucamonga, CA $6000
Looks to be a jeep salad.
“I have for sale a authentic WWII jeep believed to be built in 1944. The title shows 1947, but I believe this was when it was sold as surplus. The engine and transmission are out of a 1953 willys cj3b, though not original, runs and shifts fine. It currently has a hard top, but I do have another windshield for when the top is removed or replaced with a soft top. I currently have the doors off due to It’s missing the drivers side hinges.
PLEASE NOTICE the other windshield has broke, but is still in itse frame. The door’s have a broke window each. But at least its all flat glass and relatively inexpensive compared to other glass. The tires came off another jeep that was sitting so they will need replacing. Brakes need to be blead.”
1943 GPW Anchorage, AK $2500

“43 Willys Jeep, The title has it as a 42 Ford cause I got screwed on the title. Has a new rebuilt PTO on the back of the transfer case and a 6K lb Ramsey winch with more than 100ft of 3/8″ cable. The driveline is not in at this time due to the steering arm is in the way. Can show you how to reroute to make it work. I have new master cylinder for brakes, 4 new slave cylinders and drums for all four corners. Also have new geared starter that has not been installed. It is 12v system, and has electronic ignition, (still have the old system to go with it). It is licensed and insured and I drive it. Early Warn Manufacturing Co. History
This May 1957 Willys News article provides some interesting history about the Warn Manufacturing Company. Apparently there was some early resistance to using the first generation of the warn hubs, because jeep owners felt they’d purchased their jeeps for the four wheel drive capability. The initial hubs turned the jeeps into two wheel drive, which some owners felt defeated the whole point of owning a jeep. However, through education and marketing, the Warn folks slowly turned naysayers into advocates.
From a 1995 Field & Stream Magazine article:
These were the first locking/unlocking hubs Warn developed. These were advertised as early as October of 1953 in the Popular Mechanics:

Seller has lots of parts.
“Started a restoration project, at the time when I bought this from Tri State Motors in Cedar City they had another one so I bought both. After many years and thousands of dollars, I don’t have the space and time to do a restoration.
This would make a great restoration project, buyer will be receiving almost 2 of everything (spare parts, doors, hood) .
I do have a 350 Chev high performance motor (it is not the original motor) and it is not on the wagon. Selling it seperately.
I am asking $1200 for the Jeep (that includes all of the spare parts from the extra one I had)
For the 350 motor $1600 (separately)
I also have a 12,000 pound winch with 5/16 cable for $100”
