Field Marshall Sir Thomas Albert Blamey was memorialized in a monument in the Royal Botanical Gardens in Melbourne, Australia. It shows him standing while gripping part of a jeep windshield. The way a July 1955 Willys News described it, I thought there’d be a whole jeep!
This was part of the training exercise at the Air Force’s Advanced Glider Detachment in Mobile, Alabama.
Steve spotted this postcard that shows both the snowplows and the options for equipment behind the jeeps.

Scott’s selling another round of reproduction knobs.
“3D Reproduction Willys Sliding Window & rear ashtray knobs, they are 100% accurate 3D printed knobs.
This listing is for 4 knobs (4) (two pair) IVORY knobs and DOESNT include the Sliding Window lock itself nor the rear ashtray itself.
They are dimensionally 100% accurate 3D printed knobs. They are printed with a unthreaded pilot hole to either attach to the sliding window lock stud or to the cover mounting screw for the rear ashtray. The material is stronger and better, in every respect, than the original bakelite plastic.
If you are interested in BLACK or only two knobs (2) (one pair) see my other auctions. Free shipping by USPS within continental US, I will ship worldwide for actual cost incurred, but only after my advance authorization.”

Dexter forwarded this odd Craigslist ad. I’m not sure why the seller doesn’t sell the coins and then go buy a jeep.
“IF YOU ARE SELLING YOUR JEEP/WILLYS FOR $3000 TO $6500 PLEASE READ ON.
I have 9 gold coins from 1850s to early 1900s, they weigh 4.44 OZ,Nice to have in an emergency, you can always use gold to barter during war or apocalipse, but the value is in their collect-ability, the st gaudens ,liberty, and indian head coins are very beautiful I want to trade for a willys or cj5 jeep must be 1975 or older and have a 6 or 8 cylinder engine, no 4cyl please, will consider all , trade all or some coins for your jeep, will travel to you if serious, please send me pics of what you have, and we can make this happen without waiting.
These coins where in a safety deposit box and when my parents died the bank denied the existence of a sefety deposit box for 10 years, I finally saw a box drill out notice on the state controller wed site, they still charged me the drill charge and 10 years storage fees !! where bought for me by parents in the 1960s and I was planning on giving them to my kids, but since I have not been fortunate enough to have children I want to sell or trade them for something I can enjoy, these coins will continue to go up in price AND they are real works of art to look at..
Email me for a quick response or leave phone number and I will call you back asap. thanks.”

“1954 CJ3B Jeep!! These are getting hard to find these days!! Original motor that runs great! 12 volt upgrade system with fuse blocks, etc. new gas tank, new paint, good seats, new brakes, shifts well, 4×4 is engaging,…… still could have more restoration done.. sky is the limit with these jeeps. I currently drive this daily in town… I have the title in my hand….. water pump gasket is going…serious only please… please leave message if no answer… out and about a lot but check machine often:-)”
This is a mix of parts.
“This Willys is a true survivor. The id number is a MB number, but is considered a 1947 by the DMV. The tub is a MB. The driver side has been smoothed over with bondo at some point, but the ribs for the tools can be seen on the inside. The window is post war as well as the M38 grille. The jeep will need to be seen. It needs tlc for sure but is a driver.
I have the window rubber, just no glass.
The engine is what I can best figure is a 1953 F-Head Hurricane engine. It has the generator, but is wound to a 12v system. It has Model A tail lights. It comes with a complete Willys-Overland Arctic Cover or hard top. They fit MB’s as well as M38’s.
The tires are too big, so I pulled off the rear, but the front still cause it to rumble a bit. When it sells I will be taking off the rear wheels and putting back on the big ones. You will need to put new rubber on unless you don’t mind the rumble and wobble they cause. ”
This body has an M-38A1 rear and maybe a 3A(?) cowl. It’s listed as a 46 in one location and a 43 in another.
“43 willys jeep motor ran all com pression On
