Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “This is a original Willy’s Jeep turned into a veep. Runs like a dream, and only minor dents for the body being as old as it is. When I say it’s a Veep I mean that it is the style of the Veep kits they made in the 70’s but instead of the plastic body, this is a real ’47 Jeep. Though it looks like an M-38, it’s a CJ-2A with mods. The body is a replacement and not an M-38.

The body is on Chevy Monte Carlo metric chassis; has a Ford 9 in rear-end, Camaro spindles, disc brakes in front and rear, power steering, fuel cell with braided fuel line.
The frame has been built with cross bracing and drive shaft safety hoop.
Chassis is set up for small block chevy engine.
I’m planning to chop the roof 5 inches; make it yours for $4500. now or $5500. after I chop roof . ”

(04/25/2015) Can you blame the seller for pricing it at a value that someone appraised it at? Hard to figure out how an appraiser could have arrived at such a price.

Glenn and Miss Willy couldn’t make the local town parade in Smithfield, Maine, after Miss Willy’s accident, so Glenn’s friends made sure that at least Miss Willy would be there, even if it took a tow truck. That’s how you know you have good friends 🙂

“Here is my CJ2A for your consideration. I custom built the body, painted it myself (it’s not perfect, i am a novice painter but i get alot of compliments on it, it was supposed to be grey but turned out the off white as you see) and the inside is coated with diy bedliner and the bottom side with POR15, wheelwells were done in diy bedliner also to prevent star bursts in the paint on the top side. The cowl section is the only part that’s ’47, from the dash back including the floor braces (1×2” tubing) it’s all brand new tin. Front clip, windshield frame and tail gate are MD Juan parts.

Jim spotted this 1980 Cherokee with a Gladiator grille. It’s a good look, though it seems to me this could effect cooling.
