“I have a 1946 cj2a for sale that is serial number 15192. All three tags are 15192. The tool box floor has been rusted out and patched, the hat channels are rusted out. The side steps are rusted. The frame seems to be okay except in the front where the crossover tube meets the frame it has a crack. The tub has the tool indents on the drivers side. It has one of the three data tags on the dash. You can see where the other two were. It does have two good seats. The windshield frame seems to be early with the square washers and in good shape. The transmission is a side shifter converted to tower shift. The engine seems to be a transitional cj2a engine. It does run and drive, engine in good shape. Did a compression check and all four cylinders were right at 120. I have installed a new fuel pump, points, condenser, rotor and plugs. No brakes. I drive it about every day. No title. Asking $2500 / OBO for it.”

Just as a reminder,
Ann, my kids, and I will be spending the week in the Seattle area. I do have some updates scheduled to appear, but they will be limited. The kids leave on the 26th and Ann and I will be back in Pasco by the 27th, so I imagine normal updates will begin at least by Dec. 28th, if not earlier.
Lawrence and his dogs once again dressed up for the holidays. Thanks for the photos!

Bruce provided this research on Surreys and found a picture of this very rare Surrey. Of the DJ-5 Surrey he writes, Only 30 were built on what looks like the dj platform. It looks to be 2wd using the full ‘JEEP’ wheel cover, rear spare, steps, 60/40 seats up front & rear seat, daffodil yellow & white interior & candy striped yellow & white top w/fringe.
According to the Saskkatoon Star Phoenix June 17 1968: “For many years a familiar sight south of the border particularly at southern hotels & resorts, the ‘Jeep’ Surrey has been introduced to Canada, Kaiser Jeep of Canada Limited, Windsor, Ont has produced 30 for a special program. Painted daffodil yellow & white interior, its chief characteristic is a yellow & white candy striped fringe top. It can also be outfitted w/fully-enclosing convertible top for winter motoring.”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was eBay.

Here’s two zooped up flatties running some PNW4WDA style races. It appears this is run by Region B of the East Coast 4 Wheel Drive Association (EC4WDA). Interestingly, they start in the same direction rather than facing each other (this might be called the figure 8). I saw a hill climbing video, but no team relay nor barrels-like racing. They do have a Top Eliminator event, too. Here’s a little information about this year’s race. After taking a closer look at the EC4WDA schedule, there’s a variety of races at differing locations throughout the year.

The Transcontinental Flatfender Tour website follows the refurbishment of a CJ-2A and CJ-3A and an ensuing trip across the US (they started July 15th and ended August 19th, 2007).
There are many pictures, stories of adventure, meet-ups with other jeepers, and a video history. Here is Paul and Evan’s story:
“Back in December of 2007, we (Paul and Evan) came up with the hairbrained idea of trying to do 2 complete frame-off restoration/builds on two 1948 Willys CJ-2A Jeeps with the intent of driving them from coast to coast on July 15th of 2008–just over 6 months later. Not really knowing how much work was really going to be involved, we started tearing them apart.
Well, just over 6 months later we’ve almost got them completed after many a long night of turning wrenches, and we’re readying to embark on the coast to coast trip.
This website documents the restorations of both these Jeeps, and the day-by-day account of the trip–beginning on July 15.”
