Importantly, the allure of buying a project jeep can be romantic. The reality of restoring a jeep can be quite different, expensive and overwhelming without the right tools and resources. “Selling our beloved old Willys 4×4 Wagon – Has clean and clear title in my name – Has been on DMV non-op status for years. Was a running vehicle 15 years ago when parked. Has been in our family for the last 30 years. This is a project that is now time to let go of. Has a Corvette 283 motor and original 4×4 manual drivetrain. Also has an alternator with 12V electrical system. Has been upgraded with mustang bucket seats sometime ago. This is a rolling project sold as is, will need to be towed. Still have the original wood for the cargo area. Has the normal surface rust for a Willys of this age. Floors in front will need new sheet metal at some point. All glass is there with 2 of the flat glass pieces having cracks. Great truck for the Willys enthusiast to bring back to its former glory. Asking 2400.00 OBO. Motor alone may be worth what the asking price is. Need to get out of our driveway as soon as possible. ”

“1950 Jeepster no engine or trans. Originally had a 6 cyl with O/D trans which was very rare as most had the “F” head 4 cyl. Still has the original frame so if you want to go back to original it is there and has not been cut or modified. Has one of the best rust free body’s you will ever find. Great project, rat rod or 4×4 conversion candidate. What you see in the pictures is all there is no other parts for it. $2400 No trades. It’s a project and must be towed away.”

“Selling my 1963 CJ3b. Original F block 134ci “Hurricane” motor. Jeep is original and has an excellent rust free body. Runs and drives with like new tires. Extremely rare find in this condition.”

Robin spotted this one. Seller shows photos with two different types of rims. I’m not sure if both are included. The Scamp kit varies slightly from the VEEP kit.
“I am listing this for a friend that is techno challenged and I will try to get answers to all questions. This is basically a VW with a Jeep or some people call a Veep or Jeepster body kit. It represents a 49-53 Jeep and is an all metal body. It has a later GEX big valve VW1835cc dual port engine. It is very powerful and fun to drive. It has two tops (the full enclosure is new, see pictures) and two sets of wheels, plus a tow bar. Look at the pictures closely as these vehicles are called by several names and can be confusing. I have many pictures and if you send me your REGULAR email address I will send them to you. This vehicle runs and drives perfect, is currently licensed and state inspected. There is no warrantee written or implied for this vehicle.”
It’s listed as a 1955 CJ-3B. Looks like the body was replaced with a low hood replacement body kit.
“Restored 1955 Willys CJ3B. It is equipped with a V6 Motor, Rochester Single-bbl Carb w/2 Jet, 3-spd Manual T90 Transmission, 12-Volt system and a Warn 3700 Winch. “Have a 51 willys cj3a with a cj2a body for sale body is in decent shape with minimal rust. There is some bondo and body damage in the sides. Runs great, brakes need new wheel cylinders stops but not well (about $40 total) drive train is in excellent shape does not come with tow bar. All of the data plates are missing but replacment are esily available”

The 1947 Craftsman Annual Project Magazine contains forty-four wide ranging projects for the builder who was to try constructing everyone. Of course, there’s a battery toy jeep project among the items (directions shown below), but also included in the magazine are plans for building from scratch a welder, a battery-less telephone, a Jolly Roger boat, a hand vise, a rocket, a farm tractor (from car parts), and much more.
