“This is a real army issue willys that was in the korean war which means it has a lot of heavy duty upgrades from the civilian model, it’s pretty much all original except the front bench seat but i have the stock buckets too and the front bumper trailer hitch for towing it as well. Just had a brand new carb and fuel pump put on it and the thing runs great and only has 30,000 miles on it! This thing gets lots of attention and is a blast to drive and will climb up anything! Needs rear brake slave cylinder rebuilt, 20 or 30 dollar fix other than that there are no mechanical issues.
I love this little willys jeep and don’t really want to sell it but current situations demand it.
4,800 obo which is a very reasonable price!”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was Make Offer
Looks like a good restoration or “keep as is” candidate.
“This was purchased as a restoration project. My interests have changed and I would like to see this go to someone who will either restore it or just get it out and enjoy it. The truck came form the original owner in Fresno CA about 12 years ago. It will run. The valves need adjusted and it needs tires to get it on the road. You will not find the typical rust around the windshield and the cab on this truck. Feel free to contact me with questions or offers.”
The body might be a slat grille. No glove box.
“This was the first year that the Willy’s jeep was made for the military. There have been a few modifications including a bigger engine (about 1951), which changed the hood. It runs well and is ready to go.”

This August 25, 1958, article in the Sydney Morning Herald welcomed jeep manufacturing to Australia. The in-depth articles cover quite a bit of jeep history. The ads are interesting, too. Because the articles, photos, and ads are so interconnected, I’ve included full-page reproductions of the pages rather than try to slice them up to make them web friendly. There is also a useful list of jeep dealers for anyone tracking the history of jeeps in the state of New South Wales.
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was on eBay. Now lives in New York (See comments).

UPDATE: Still Available.
(10/14/2015) It has updated engine and brakes.
“Great 4 wheel drive 1946 Willys Jeep! Has a V-8 engine (from a 1960s Chevy van I think) and power steering. It is a 3-speed, plus a low range and an overdrive, so you’ll have lots of gear choices! It has been a wonderful family fun vehicle for years, but we now rarely use it since our kids are older. It has brand new tires, and it is in good mechanical condition. Floorboards are solid.
Includes a dual axle trailer for towing the Jeep, with trailer brakes (I’ve never used the trailer brakes, so I cannot vouch for them).”
UPDATE: **SOLD** Was $4000.
Includes a couple extra parts jeeps. Body is fiberglass.
“New body runs fine no rust new metal body 2 extra jeeps for parts”
