Yesterday, while driving through East Wenatchee, Washington, I spotted this unusual looking flattie. I only had my cell phone, so the pic isn’t the best (and had to brave traffic just to get this photo — only got honked at once) 🙂 Based on what I could see from a slightly different angle (which I couldn’t photograph), I think it is a jeep body on a truck chassis:
This snow plow jeep is still parked in the same spot we saw it in 2013:
A couple days ago I saw this nice CJ-3B in Pasco.
UPDATE: Still Available.
(06/23/2016) Thanks to Mike for identifying the hardtop as an Acme hardtop. Here’s another example.

“1959 Willys Jeep FC-150, Clear title in hand. Tree fell on left side rear of cab and dented corner pretty good. Will need alot of fabrication, and rust repairs. Probably hasnt been run in 30 years, I dont know if motor is free, real rusty, but it is a rare vehicle. Will need to be trailered. Make this your next 4×4 project. does roll free on air up tires.”
UPDATE: This was listed in NY in January. Now it’s being sold out of New Jersey.
“The only one in the U.S., a hybrid German Border Patrol Jeep made by the predecessor of AUDI [DKW Auto Union] in the late 50’s, Has a newly rebuilt VW air cooled engine with manual trans, big Military type tires and runs great….especially in parades and is a winner in car shows. Need room in my collector car garage so am letting go this special one of a kind. Registered in NJ as a antique ’68 VW and MUNGA model.”
Looks solid, though it sounds as if it might need a tuneup or something.
“1949 Willys Jeepster, 4 cyl, overdrive, car runs but needs someone with a little knowhow to get it up to speed.,”

This jeep has an unusual shovel holder on the cowl.
“1958 Jeep CJ-5, Hurricane 4 cylinder engine on it runs great! Comes with removable tow bar, roll bar, is a real classic and turns heads. Also great for hunting and fishing! Tow it to your favorite spot and go into all the places your truck won’t be able to go. Everything is original. I will also include an extra over size rim.
I’ve seen what’s out there and on eBay for similar vehicles so price is firm. Let me know if you have any questions or are interests in taking it out for a test drive.”

“I have a 1946-47 Willys CJ2A that is in very restorable shape of to make it into whatever you would like, The rundown: been in a barn for 20 plus yrs, engine, trans, transfer case is all rebuild able but is not running, floor pans are in good shape not rusted out, body could use a little work but is in great shape for it’s age and compared to others I have found. One rust through spot in the frame but nothing too concerning. It only has two rims with no tires so it is on a trailer and not mobile. Take a look at pics..”

“We purchased this Hurst 8/2/2011 from Pittsburgh. A private collector had it in storage in Utah for a while. Since we’ve had it we having done the following
Front seat recovered
Transmission seal replaced
Engine rebuilt
10″ drum conversion
Installed power assist brake system
New shocks
New tires
Front bumper restored
New heater core
79,316 miles on old engine
Vehicle is currently non running. New engine installed ( zero time), transmission and transfer case installed. Linkage needs to be reinstalled. Electric system needs to be reinstalled. Fuel lines & water lines need to be hooked up. Some rust on front floor pans and rocker panels. Tailgate has usual rust for a Jeep. Was a great runner, but was rebuilt due to thrown rod.
