(06/02/2016) Looks like an interesting rig.
“We purchased this vintage ’49 Willys truck about 7 years ago to add to our array of classic trucks intended for full restoration. We have only driven it around on our homestead periodically during that interim, putting less than 50 miles on it.
We bought it at a high price even without body or paint work done because the previous owners had done an incredible amount of mechanical type work in that restoration process stretching from 1997 to 2005. The truck mostly sat until we bought it in 2007-8 period into the tune of about $10,000 total invested into the truck.
In the paperwork received with it there was a thick stack of receipts of work done. Like a dummy, I threw away some of them before realizing what the receipts were. I have gone through the many line items of the receipts to come up with the below list. The line items of work during the restoration process was about $8,400, but the total paid on account receipts were over $15,000, so we evidently do not have all the line item work receipts. It does appear this may have included the cost of the truck as well, but it is hard to tell. The old guy that had the work done had hardly driven the truck with low miles since the work was done according to his relative from whom we purchased the truck.
